Hi Jan, the grave that resembles Pandora’s box near to the end of the video is my grandads. He passed away in April last year but he built his grave for himself around 7 years ago. My mum said thankyou for admiring it, he would have been chuffed that the video has been uploaded as he loved watching TH-cam videos thanks to his friend derek xxx

@@JanWright that’s amazing, I hope my reply to your video is helpful, my grandad was a great man and travelled around the world, he would always tell me about his adventures and this would definitely make him happy if he were here today! :)

My mum and grandparents are in the 'boring looking' ones to immediate right. I remember the old allotment their previously. I think it turned to a resting place for cremations around about 95. My Mum was one of the first in there. Its been nearly a decade since ive been. Thanks for at least showing some so i can pay some sort of respects.
We used to live right next to the cem up on the old estate. I have memories of exploring it as a kid. Eating my butties on the covered bench and conker picking on the broad street side.

@@JanWright I remember they'd do them over from oxleys is it on the corner near the railways bridge onto middlewich st. My mates dad worked there and would always bung us 50p of we went skulking there on school break time. Some memories of old there. It's probably new flats now. Everything I see online from my childhood seems just to be sanitized new flats

Thanks for this, it's a great service.
A lot of people have moved from their hometowns and can't easily visit family graveyards. Some, from Crewe, have moved as far as Australia.
That was a beautiful pond, a pity they filled it in.

I try and visit every time. Seems poorly maintained though compared to how I remember. The office at the undertakers entrance helped me a lot finding relatives who were interred.

"For this tide of mans life, after it once turneth and declineth, ever runneth with a perpetuall ebbe and falling streame, but never floweth againe: our leafe once fallen, springeth no more, neither doth the Sunne or the Summer adorne us againe, with garments of new leaves and flowers."

I remember (as a kid) when they built the new entrance at the "Mucky Bridge", it seemed to take forever just like the new town centre is now.

My house was the second one over from there when I was very young. Overlooking the white figures in the cem. Used to terrify the crap out of me.

And bear in mind that every grave. Has a certain time span starting. From. Say 30 years upwards. Which has to be renewed when time expires
This might explain. Why some new graves are now along side some old ones
They have been exhumed as the years paid are over due so you see even your grave is not yours forever. Unless your family continue to pay to renew it

For 2 years+ I have taken photos for Google of every cemetery from Northwich to stoke with 102 million views of my photos on Google maps and google is going to take photos of every grave in the UK and it will move from maps to Google graves were you can find any grave in the UK with details of the person from parish records people from all over the world look at these videos to trace relatives and people request for photos to be taken of the graves as it will be a record so if anything happens to the grave you can see how it was.All churches have agreed to this as it saves them a lot of time answering questions about relatives we work with war graves and take photos of war graves so they can see what needs to be done. We mostly take photos of old graves and any new graves requested my child and grand parents are in Crewe cemetry
