I think that even for casual, I like Hashaton more as a commander: The deck would basically need to only switch some of the synergies to tutors (Since both commanders are also Wizards, Step Through is rather useful here) and looters instead (Those draw/discard creatures) maybe some other permanent discard outlets (Though the best ones as of the time of writing might be expensive since they're sought after for cedh) and just have more impactful early turns: A 2 mana commander coming down turn 2 and reanimating a potentially impactful like say, Temmet, is a better plan.
Temmet token copy being vulnerable? Well it's still on the graveyard so you can just reanimate it or return it to hand with some of those effects and have it back. Plus you can forget about Maskwood Nexus for example since every creature copied with Hashaton is already a zombie so it's very synergistic with the zombie tribal stuff in the deck.
Maybe it's just me but going back to casual always feels soooo sloww to me and this 5 CMC commander and questionable mana base and *TINY* ramp package for the colors (I mean, come on: could have reprinted Smothering Tithe for this wotc!) makes me go 'Yeah, first change doesn't involves switching cards, just swapping the commander for the secondary' and instantly have a much better time getting to do stuff early.

IMO the backup commander has very little support in the deck, only having like 6 ways to reliably discard.
Would probably need to cut most of the zombie tribal pieces and replace them with some good things to cheat out + ways to discard them on command (and presumably some reanimation pieces OR ways to return them to your hand so you can re-discard them)
Good discard outlets here being stuff like ghostly pilferer, putrid imp, tireless tribe - all of them being able to discard stuff on instant speed, allowing you to "cheat" the creature tokens out at instant speed. Loot effects like Likeness looter, Rona, Herald of invasion, Shirokai, genesis engine and frantic search being very solid here too. Recursion wise, tortured existence is a MVP if not on a budget - oversold cemetery if on a budget
Good cheap targets to discard and cheat out here would be stuff like Hullbreaker horror, sun titan, ashen rider (or just pick a favorite high cost high impact haymaker creature you own but cant find a place for)
