As Gautam Singhania-Nawaz Modi separation resulted into to Rs 1,500-crore erosion of market capitalisation of Raymond Ltd stock, the firm's CMD's father Vijaypat said the firm' s name will "ultimately depend on how shareholders, bankers look at it". In an interview with Sourav Majumdar, Editor, Business Today, Vijaypat Singhania said: "Raymond has a very large number of mature, logical shareholders. They can think for themselves. If they see something bad, they react quickly."

Vijaypat Singhania ignored the requests of his own grandnephews/grandneices from his another son Madhupat Singhania (who separated from the family & left to S'pore in 1999). So he ignored their requests to change his decision to give away his entire 37% stake in Raymond to his one son Gautam Singhania AND LIERALLY NOTHING to the surviving family of his another son Madhupat Singhania, he already had laid the foundation stone of his own grave when he went ahead almost tyrannically to give his entire 37% stake to his only monster son Hautam Singhania....

It's not always that easy, he may come across some judge who can turn the tables for him. Now that this case is so overblown anyone will think twice before getting sold to him. With such strong personalities like Ms.Nawaz Modi and Mr Vijaypat Singhania anyone will be scared to take a bribe and give a ruling. These two will expose the lawyer or judge.

When I was young it was my dream to buy a Raymond shirt and tie but it happened only when went to Gulf.
My prayer to Gautam please accept your father as it is. Mother nature the Real God might forgive you.

It really pained me a lot to see the pathetic condition of an iconic businessman and above all a great father. An indirect comment on judiciary made by Sri Vijaypat Singhania is also of great concern for we lndians.

What a great man.. Even thu his son Gautam Singhania treated him the worst ever..he is thinking good for the family. Gautam Singhania deserves the worst and he should get the returns the way he has treated his father. My salute to Vijaypath Sir, I wish great health to him.

It is so stressful to see the father go through this humiliating life but it is a good thing to see him open up and express his experiences.
This will help those parents who blindly give away everything they have to their erring children too early.
As for his ‘sick’ son, he will go through what’s due to him in time. Until then I wish the both parents all well.

A great lesson for fathers to be careful with thankless, greedy grown children who even throw their parents out and turn into monsters. Adult children should be made to work for their own success and taught the value of hard work.

Based on what I read and I may be wrong, Mr. Singhania’s elder son wanted to settle down in Singapore against his wishes and Mr. Singhania gave him nothing. His elder son settled down in Singapore. when his grandkids in Singapore realized that they were left out, they filed a legal case in India for their share in the family wealth. Seeing this, he hastily transferred his wealth to Gautam so that nothing goes to his son and grandchildren in Singapore.

Half right ...the elder son madhupat singhania has differences with father over importance given to Gautam..there could be other reasons too ...he left the company & signed off any claims on the property. .when his kids matured they filed case against the grandfather because it was inherited property & business ...i think to avoid giving anything to the kids he gave all his property to Gautam ....

Wiife's influence on this husband to the extent of making him bend to a most pampered child then. Result is evident. Same Vijaypat Singhania used to be hard core business man. When Shivsena burnt his hospital in the Raymond campus and looted the show rooms on August 26 ,2000, night....he never started the hospital again, got the insurance money , threw out all hospital staff after ten long years of their service without any settlement or any govt.bebefits.All managed with the help of same lawyers, govt.officials, HR managers and doctors in the management of his hospital. A black incident in the history of hospitals in India. Many pleas were made by hospital staff to him to open the hospital again which was very very much possible and in condition by all aspects then. Law of Karma works. TRUE.
