  • I spent a day up in the mountains on my float tube. I fished several different ponds hoping to catch some chunky trout. I had to dodge some thunderstorms, but I got into some fish and had a great time

    How do you like that float tube? Is it the same one online that’s around 140$? Awesome video once again

      Yeah, its around $140. It was cheaper but everything has gone up. It's been a good tube for the price 👍

    So funny. We know it's Adventure time! Way to stick with it and go grab that brown back in the earlier lake. Looked way bigger than 20"... fun video!

    Just a thought: I have noticed, quite often in fact, that for a few hours just after a good rain storm the fishing can really pick up. My theory is that the storm "churns" the water and dislodges trout "food" of all kinds from the underwater vegetation which puts the trout in a feeding mindset. Anyway, thanks for another personal adventure on the water!

      I have had good success during the actual storms in the past. As long as there's no lightning ill usually keep at it during the rain unless it's really coming down

    Nice action. When I went, I was thinking the ponds seemed shallow for a tube. Do you think it’s just more shallow than usual? I def had the most fun with the Browns from shore around there!

      A float tube isn't ideal for some of them. There's a few where the tube gives you an advantage though

      @@TroutHowler Agreed, the tube would have helped a lot in certain spots there!

      Thanks Benjamin. I am certainly blessed to live where I do. There's a lot of good fishing to be found in and around the intermountain west

    One of my favorite things to do on those high mountain lakes is throwing a damsel fly dry! There’s been times where the fish will get so keyed in they’ll take it before it even hits the water

      Damsel dries are super fun when the fish are in the mood 👍

    How do you like the 10’ rod vs 9’?

    • @TroutHowler
      @TroutHowler  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm definitely liking the 10 ft rods for stillwaters. The 10 fts are especially nice when using the midge tips with the super long leaders
