The worst part about Scaredy Shroom’s redesign is that when it was originally going to appear in dark ages, it had a different design that resembled its PvZ1 design. I really dislike its new design, especially the eyes. I also dislike Sea Shroom, but I can see why people would like it. My favorite Seedium design is probably Buttercup. Oh yeah, the upcoming Catapult zombie design looks really bad.
Sea shroom design in pvz2 is definitely better than the pvz1. It has more depth and detail into it. The upcoming catapult zombie looks fine. The cart he uses is well designed and looks better but they should have designed the zombie too instead of just reusing that same buffed zombie
I agree with putting scaredy-shroom at the lowest tier, idk what were the devs were thinking or what drugs they were on when redesigning scaredy-shroom
If they bring back Umbrella Leaf in any future games, I really hope they don’t give them a mouth. What they should do is give it that flower on its head they gave it in Heroes, that was cute.
I can say I’d definitely prefer the heroes designs over any of the 1st versions which looks… drained, and the 2nd version looks too marketable, but the heroes designs are perfection, even with more original plant designs

You can't forget the new animations, in PvZ 1 it just goes BOWLING, but in PvZ2 you can see it getting increasingly anxious to explode as they devour it, and it just adds so much to it that doesn't feel like a nut recolor, but more like a new kind of nut.
I find the mega gatling pea looks much worse than the normal gatling pea from pvz1 because they removed the 4-barrel cannon from it's mouth. Yes it shows up when it attacks, but it just doesn't look right having it pop out of the mouth and go back in, and it doesn't even rotate.
It's just a minor detail,it doesn't make it look ""MUCH WORSE"",his design it's pretty fire and better than the original design,but they should have kept the gatling

I actually believe that the pumpkin in has the worst redesign out of all of them. He looks so flat and bland in PvZ 2 and what always confused me is the fact the he has two faces, one in the front and one in the back. It's so weird to me that you can just see through him in PvZ 2.

What! I love the og squash! It looks so soft, almost as if it it melting, makes sense how it goes flat af after jumping, just a fat blob jumping on top of the zombies. In pvz2 it looks hard, like really raw, he uses actual power, not just his mass

I usually try to ignore the art style change and try to compare the designs to the best of my abilities (and some of them are harder to do because SOME PEOPLE decide to not make edited art of PvZ1 returners as PvZ2 plants that gives them their PvZ1 designs and vice-versa), so plants that have had barely any changes like Peashooter, Puff Shroom and Flower Pot I usually skip while plants with more noticeable changes like Cherry Bomb and Tangle Kelp are the ones I usually end up comparing their designs for, even if it isn’t exactly a competition due to many of the redesigns actually looking lazier than the original designs, one example being Cherry Bomb where it has green stems and a singular leaf as opposed to three leaves and occasionally brown stems, and to make matters worse, Cherry Bomb is the one plant that they keep BRINGING BACK the original design for in the case of PvZH of all things
Idk, i think the Design of cherry bomb in pvz2 is a hundred times better. I like the green stem, it makes them look more fresh and the single leaf look stylish, like a cool hair style

2:29 if we're factoring animation then PvZ 2 peashooter and its varients should be put higher because PvZ 1 only has the slight mouth movement to shoot animation and the moving side to side. PvZ 2 peashooter actually has an animation for pulling the pea into it's mouth from the stem then shooting it out. It's subtle but it's such a nice detail in design
i wish the grave buster kept the pvz1 appearance: it rly looks like a gravestone as it should; it's got leaves, it's intimidating. As soon as you pulled up the tier list, i knew it would land in the bottom tier😂
there's a lot of things i would change on this tier list... but most importantly i would've added a tier for plants that got a whole new look like gatling pea or grave buster since they're too different
The big issue I have with Wall-Nut’s redesign is they messed with the original’s simplicity too much. In the first game, he goes from happy, to neutral, to sad depending on his health. In the second game not only is the damage far less noticeable, but they also replaced the simple expressions with these weird, pained, brain-damaged expressions, which is not only less readable, but also kinda retcons his almanac entry from the first game.
Justice for Explode O Nut cuz this take is kinda ass. Like dude, the first game is literally just red filter wall nut. The designs gives it red hue, that becomes more red the more he's damaged, as well as giving him a more excited expression. This is literally a worthy makeover

I’m not a fan of Gatling pea’s redesign in PvZ2 because it removed the four barrel cannon and just have it awkwardly pop out during the attack animation. I prefer the Chinese design because of that and also because the helmet design is more unique
next time, could you do the chinese versions of the pvz 2 plants? they actually remade every single pvz1 plant in pvz2 in the chinese version, including the original gravebuster, instead of a snake-like gravebuster

I'll gota say something, in my opininon some pvz 2 plants look unalive, like look at blover he looks so lifeless, also threepeater, all of the small heads and that body was joyfull but in pvz 2 looks like a robot

ik everyone agrees that scaredy-shroom is a half-assed plant with no actual purpose in the game now that adventure is over, but ever since Blockoli there’s been a drastic decline in the quality of animation. for example, if you plant food a puff-shroom, its animation shows it shooting for the duration of its plant food, but if you plant food a sea-shroom, THEIR SHOOTING ANIMATION DOES NOT LINE UP WITH THE SPEED OF THEIR PROJECTILES. they’ll also continue their idle animation in the middle of their plant food which screams lazy and rushed to me.

I agree with most of it, but there’s a few here and there that were polished up from the first game and given a much more sleek, intimidating look as a result, only for you to say that they’re “less intimidating and more cartoony.” I dunno man, just seems like nostalgia clouds your reasoning for most of the points you make. Yeah no this tier list is WACK. I agree with most of it, but there’s a few here and there that were polished up from the first game and given a much more sleek, intimidating look as a result, only for you to say that they’re “less intimidating and more cartoony.” I dunno man, just seems like nostalgia clouds your reasoning for most of the points you make. That being said, you were spot on about cherry bomb and scaredy shroom.
Well in my video 5 Reasons Why PVZ2 Is Better Than PVZ1, one of the placements was better graphics and I mention a few redesigns in PVZ2 that I prefer
