@@Jake.MillerI love plants vs zombies so much that I'm making a fan game of pvz with every plant from every game (even the Chinese version games and fan games) in it and dr zomboss because good and we learn the origin story of pvz. What do you think?
I have just a few complaints! 1. Potato-mine is probably one of the most fun early-game plants to use, and once you're done setting up your sun producers you can still chuck them in front of a pole-vaulter to waste his jump for 25 sun! 2. Another really cool thing about puff-shroom is not only the free damage, but also the free meat-shielding. If you're insane enough, you can stall using puff-shroom for a very long time if you keep spamming it on cooldown. Puff-shroom is the shaggy of PvZ, it only uses 0.1% of his power because otherwise he would destroy reality as we know it. 3. Scaredy shroom is most useful as a backliner. it's better if you place the sun flowers (edit: or rather, sun shrooms) in column 3 and save the space for these early attackers, and later, you can dig them up and put your main defensive plants in their place. 4. Three-peater is a super cool plant to use in lane set-ups. Most people plant their sun flowers in column 1-2 or 3-4, but you could instead plant sunflowers on lanes 1 and 6 while you plant potato mines to defend the early zombies, and lily pads in the first few columns of the pool lanes. Then, as soon as you start being able to afford them, you can place three-peaters on lanes 2 and 4 for maximum efficiency! It's like a scuffed garlic strategy. 5. Bouncing the bungee zombies with umbrella leaf is hilarious, I can't believe you don't love them! 6. Cherry > Jalapeño, fight me.
Nice, I can tell you know much more about being good at the game than I am. I don’t even disagree with you on most of these, I ultimately go crazy on some like threepeater just to make things interesting. Thanks for the tips though! Definitely helpful
Ooooo I'm gonna tear your organs for disrespecting my shy boi. You didn't even use him properly. He's a low cost peashooter that works if you keep the enemies away
Honestly, starfruit is underrated by most tier lists, They can already kill most zombies despite being slightly more than a peashooter, and having multiple columns of them creates an unstoppable wall of damage that can usually beat most levels. Even if there’s a breach in defenses, that’s covered by the fact that starfruit shoots straight down and straight up, so it’s never a big problem if one is eaten. They’re really cheap defense that can do a really good job at killing everything on screen and EVEN THOUGH their appearance in the first game isn’t the most appealing, they add some color onto the board which I like. They’re usually my first choice for levels A few niche things about them is the fact that they can solo a bungee zombie about to steal them, and they can be used to get don’t pea in the pool and pool’s closed at the same time for what that’s worth .
I appreciate someone sticking up for starfruit. Yeah, some plants get tanked because of a joke I’ve made, and starfruit was sadly one of them. I don’t personally like starfruit a whole lot but it probably does deserve higher than a C realistically
It's an A tier for me, mainly because it's probably one of the most flexible Damage plants. Reason it cannot go higher is because it's lack of burst as well as restrictions. A row of starfruit isn't nearly as effective and you need an entire army to fare well against the harder stages so that restricts you to only the starfruit as your dmg source. Overall it's definitely a great plant
Although threepeater is a little too expensive in this game, I really enjoy its gimmick and used it a lot in my first playthrough Probably my second favorite plant behind squash
but he can kill one zombie like every 40 seconds thats horrible damage output compare that to like any other atacking plant in the game and they all out class him
I mean I said it’s not ALL based on power, that’s just how I do my tier lists. There are more definitive strength or usefulness tier lists out there if that’s what you’re looking for
i personally love the scaredy shroom since it's basically a cheap peashooter. since i tend to pit them to the left or right of my sun shroom they are almost always shooting
Seeing this game fills me with so much nostalgia, I remember loving whenever I used a hypno shroom on a dancer zombie since any backup dancers he summoned afterwards would also be on your side
I just wanted to let you know that you inspired me to start my TH-cam channel and make my first video. I can’t believe it happened to come out the same day you made a Plants Vs. Zombies video too! Thank you so much!
I definitely find that I enjoy the more edgy plants more than the light hearted ones, which is why I love Gravebuster and Tangle Kelp (mostly tangle kelp) so much. I wish they’d kept their old designs and weren’t made less edgy looking in PvZ 2.
I'd rank chomper lower, cherry bomb higher, and maybe puff shroom in B tier, and scaredy shroom is a good early game plant, it has the potential to be better than peashooter, due to costing 25 sun, but It does stop attacking if there's a zombie in a 3x3 area near it, so I'd personally put it in C with peashooter, maybe even B, also, I reccomend putting the sunflowers in column 3 and 4, even though putting them in column 1-2 is considered the original, planting main attackers in the front rows is extremely bad since it means if they get destroyed, you only have sunflowers, if you have split pea or a insta, MAYBE you can save your defence, but you wouldn't want to waste an insta when that could be (almost) entirely avoided by planting attackers in column 1-2.
puff shroom is S tier it is one of the most overpowered little pieces of shit ever invented for gaming giving you great early game stalling to save up ludicrous amounts of sun, a late game stalling plant that shits all over gargs, small but consistent front line damage aswell as a little extra defense
After playing PVZ, I have realized one VERY strong use for the chompers. Gargantaurs. Whenever I am in endless mode, gargantaurs and zombonis tend to end my run. Gargantaurs used to be the worst until I discoverd something. Chompers will constantly bite gargantaurs with that insanely powerful bite over and over until they drop dead. If you have ice melon pults or frost peas as well, the gargantaurs drop dead SUPER fast.
I love that the video does not just rank usefulness, but design too. Gatling Pea should be S tier. He's a war veteran with helmet and barrel mouth. Looking forward to PvZ2 ranking. Since there's so many plants, I suggest ranking the adventure plant first with 69 (nice) plants before moving on to premium plant. Some plants like hypno shroom and garlic are terrible in sequel due to many zombies do not eat plant as they destroy plant instead. 17:10 "Blover has its fan?" Just wait until PvZ2 where Blover can blow ALL AIRBORNE zombie as long as their feet doesn't touch the ground like imp thrown by gargantuar

great video, I agree with almost all your rankings and even the ones I don't (like Potato Mine) you have good reason for their placements 9/10 video 10/10 if you sang "Zombies on Your Lawn"
sir, you appear to currently be off your rockers the scale of design V.S function is like 90% in design's favor given some of the asanine placements so the list is literally just "i think this plant looks cool, A tier"
nice video, I didn't know anyone was able to put hypno shroom at S, most people rank hypno shroom on C ,D or F tier, also 4 columns of starfruit can counter most zombies like bungee, digger, and pogo zombies.
My favorite planet is the twin sunflower. They just make it so much easier to play the other upgrade plantes, which are amazing. Most of my game strategies are based on stalling while setting them up at the beggining, and slowly planting the base plants for the upgrades at the same time; then, when I have 1000000 suns, I don't need to worry about my super expensive deck cost anymore.
got any reasoning for them being S? to me they're both just good scaredy is hella outclassed in terms of being a cheap early game, but it's a much cheaper peashooter so it can act as mid-late game offense if placed in the back threepeater is only really worth it if you place a lot of them down, but once there your defense will be formidable, although it still has problems like it's main gimmick of shooting in multiple rows, it's a problem because it makes stalling significantly more difficult giving you less time to build up more threepeaters so i can see both being around B-A, but not quite S
In my opinion, Potato Mine is pretty good! I use him in the early game while I build up my sun production, set him around the 3rd row/collum right when a zombie appears, and he'll prime a decent amount before the zombie gets close! And the low sun cost is _very_ good early game!
to quote jake “usefullness isn’t the only factor on the tierlist” which implies usefulness and design are Both factors to the tierlist, you just can’t listen to the video, also he put scaredy shroom in f because it’s usefullness and design are both bad
@@Bengt2509 well I just feel like he's coming from a bias perspective, not taking in how useful they are, but rather if he likes their design. Yet again, this isn't a *design* tierlist. That's a different thing in the pvz community.
I would argue that cabbage pult goes in B because it does double damage than a peashooter and kernel pult would share a spot with him because its rng based
Here are my critiques: 1. Potato Mine I would put at least A since if you put one in column 3 in the row you see the first zombie spawn, he'll be armed before the zombie reaches him which is a 25 cost stall so you can spam sun producers and make bank which then makes placing a bunch of strong attackers like Repeater much easier much earlier. Plus he is adorable like how a pug is and if Spudow from Heroes is anything to go off of, he probably doesn't look that freaky under the grass. 2. I just want to say how funny it is that this late into PvZ 2's life they added Scaredy Shroom virtually unchanged from PvZ 1, where she was already pretty shit, and make it hell to even unlock her only for her to perform even worse with how much zombie spam and all the approaching gimmicks there are. Jurrasic Marsh is the worst by far for this. 3. I personally think Tangle Kelp should've been in S tier because, even though its limited to Pool levels, in said levels it is an amazing tool that gets a lot of work done. The design is great, the effect is very useful, its just a great plant. 4. As a Blover Believer I find the placement in D tier an absolute crime and you shall atone in due time. Now we wait for either a ranking of the PvZ 1 Zombies (you better not forget the Zombotony zombies) or the PvZ 2 plants, although the latter could be a few videos for the adventure plants, some of the special ones like the gemium and premium plants (Witch Hazel must be on that list if you do it), and of course the PvZ 2 Zombie tier list which should be fun.
i believe S tier should be preserved for plants that completely bully the game tangle kelp is good, but unlike potato mine it doesn't really serve the purpose of an early game staller to increase sun production it does however contend with squash, cause while squash can indeed kill everything in 1 tile while tangle kelp only kills 1, tangle kelp is 3 times cheaper and situations where there are that many zombies clumped up in the pool don't really happen that often (you'd need 3 or more for squash to really be cost effective in comparison) so i'd say top of B, it's good at what it does, i just wish it was a little better so there's more of a reason to use it over it's land counterparts
@samis2642 Critiques probably wasn’t the best word to use, it was more me giving my opinions on why I felt some of the placements were off followed by my reasoning.
Potato Mine deserves A or B tier imo, he's very useful for the start of most levels if your planting more Sunflowers, and can be used as a last line of defense for at least 5 zombies if there grouped together (like, if you have a column of them next to the lawnmowers or in front of your sun producers)
1.Pumpkin easy S 2. Puff Shroom easily A at least 3. Sun flower and twin sunflower in A and B??? They are literally essential. 4. Potato mine is easily A, idk what you were smoking 5. You put three mushrooms in S but put coffe been in D, hello? You know they go together? 6.Hypno shroom is D at the highest 7. Chomper is garbage 8. Doom Shroom in S but cherry in C? Huh? 9. Grave buster in A but lily pad in D? Both are specific to a type of level so why are they so far apart? 10.Gloom is the easiest S ever I could keep going, anyway still liked the video because you have good editing but the opinions are actual trash lmao
The reason for these discrepancies are because I rank things on usefulness, looks, design, stuff like that. That’s how lily pad is in d but grave buster is in A. Hopefully that makes my ranking make more sense
can we give respects to pumpkin? not only he protects anyone you put them on, but also sacfrices his own life for the plant, W pumpkin. Hes a true friend.
i use potato mines to stall zombies so i can get a double lane of sunflower and then 1 lane of repeaters (ive beaten PVZ 10 times in total) also whoever said repeaters are for early game your wrong you can totally use repeaters in late game too for example i got to wave 6 without planting a single gatling pea (i had to upgrade after) btw this is survival day hard if your wondering
For me , puff shroom and potato mine should be s tier . Day : during early game , potato mine can waste the zombie time while building line of sun flower , since zombie usually gose 1by1 in early game. Night : no need to ask , puff shroom is free. Btw who the hell put scardy shroom on top of the lane ? I always put him behind sun shroom , he have the same damage of a peashooter
cabbage pult main here, i just love his design, the way he attacks and the fac that he has double damage than the peashooter but due to the slow attack it has almost the same dps as a regular peashooter. I always use him on easy levels just for fun and as another low cost attacker B tier for me at minimum, S as maximum
I love scardy mostly cause I love spamming them at the back to support my puff and fumeshrooms. It is designed to be a back line shooter who supports your frontline so that it doesn’t hide
I honestly hate this video. Please watch another video of mine instead of this one. Thanks!

Jake: I prefer my potatoes explode!
Imitator: *becomes potato mine*
Rank the zombies now!!
Rank them from most annoying to least annoying
Haha I’d love to! If you could like this video, it would help this one do well so I can make more!!
nice video, I didn't know anyone was able to put hypno shroom at S, most people rank hypno shroom on C ,D or F tier, also 4 columns of starfruit can counter most zombies like bungee, digger, and pogo zombies.
Good to know! And yea, I just think hypno shroom is cool, what more can i say 😎
That’s true, it always helps to have more sun. In the adventure levels I don’t even bother with them but I could see that for survival
@@Jake.Miller make sense, since I mainly play survival.
I think what would be a funny and niche one is a ranking of all the plants almanac entries.
How dare you just because he gets afraid doesn’t mean he’s bad he’s just shy like me
what?? threepeater and scaredy shroom are S tier imo!
That’s great! I just don’t personally like them very much
got any reasoning for them being S?
to me they're both just good
scaredy is hella outclassed in terms of being a cheap early game, but it's a much cheaper peashooter so it can act as mid-late game offense if placed in the back
threepeater is only really worth it if you place a lot of them down, but once there your defense will be formidable, although it still has problems like it's main gimmick of shooting in multiple rows, it's a problem because it makes stalling significantly more difficult giving you less time to build up more threepeaters
so i can see both being around B-A, but not quite S
zombies NOW
Awesome video. I like this channel pfp too (green). Also yeah pvz2 might be nice.👍
Thank you thank you, I’d love to do it
1:55 plants vs your mom is crazy💀
YAAAY!!! I am not the only one who thought that wall-nut is potato!
In my opinion, Potato Mine is pretty good!
I use him in the early game while I build up my sun production, set him around the 3rd row/collum right when a zombie appears, and he'll prime a decent amount before the zombie gets close!
And the low sun cost is _very_ good early game!
Fr, the best start plant imo
Make a pvz heros list trust me their full of personality
Yea I love them I might have to
@@Jake.Miller yay!!!! The flavored text is so fun
Good video, but can you *not* rank them on just their design? Its kinda unfair, considering its not a design tierlist. 😢

@@prolygamesstudios3443replying so he sees this
to quote jake “usefullness isn’t the only factor on the tierlist” which implies usefulness and design are Both factors to the tierlist, you just can’t listen to the video, also he put scaredy shroom in f because it’s usefullness and design are both bad
@@Bengt2509 well I just feel like he's coming from a bias perspective, not taking in how useful they are, but rather if he likes their design. Yet again, this isn't a *design* tierlist. That's a different thing in the pvz community.
I would argue that cabbage pult goes in B because it does double damage than a peashooter and kernel pult would share a spot with him because its rng based
Fun fact: Chomper's Time to digest a zombie takes up the same time as it takes to charge up a squash's plant.
15:19 Someone has complexes
Haha caught red handed
Green PFP for plants and zombies?!

PLEASE do a PVZ2 plant ranking list it’s my favorite nostalgic game.

@@Jake.Miller EXCUSES EXCUSES!
@@QueenTwivineSparkle7805 b-b-but i HAD to put some in F tier even if they shouldn't be there!! 😢☝️🤓
@@fortnitesexman NO MORE EXCUSES!
Here are my critiques:
Haha thankfully not too many critiques. I will one day stone for my sins, IM SO SORRY! But I’m glad you liked this list as well
i believe S tier should be preserved for plants that completely bully the game
tangle kelp is good, but unlike potato mine it doesn't really serve the purpose of an early game staller to increase sun production
it does however contend with squash, cause while squash can indeed kill everything in 1 tile while tangle kelp only kills 1, tangle kelp is 3 times cheaper and situations where there are that many zombies clumped up in the pool don't really happen that often (you'd need 3 or more for squash to really be cost effective in comparison)
so i'd say top of B, it's good at what it does, i just wish it was a little better so there's more of a reason to use it over it's land counterparts
Why are you critiquing something that's entirely opinionated? Meaning there are no wrong choices.
@samis2642 Critiques probably wasn’t the best word to use, it was more me giving my opinions on why I felt some of the placements were off followed by my reasoning.
@@the_godbodor7026 That's completely understandable. My mistake for not realizing that from the start.
Missing Explode-o-Nut, Giant Wall-Nut, Backwards Repeater, Sprout, and Tree of Wisdom smh my head
Potato Mine deserves A or B tier imo, he's very useful for the start of most levels if your planting more Sunflowers, and can be used as a last line of defense for at least 5 zombies if there grouped together (like, if you have a column of them next to the lawnmowers or in front of your sun producers)
That’s fair. I personally don’t like using him a whole lot but I do bring him in a lot in the first few worlds
True using the potato mine at the beginning of pool levels when I don’t use normal peashooters.
Potato mine is op it's a budget squash for start of rounds but half the cost
Why is flower pot a plant?😅😂😂😂
Squash good? But Jake, just bring the potato mine it works just as well
Haha I love people doing exactly what I DEMAND of them you little bee you are part of MY hive you are part of MY hive.
Anyways more power to you
Potato mine is probably the best starter plant in case you have to save a lot of sun in case one zombies spawn

1.Pumpkin easy S
2. Puff Shroom easily A at least
3. Sun flower and twin sunflower in A and B??? They are literally essential.
4. Potato mine is easily A, idk what you were smoking
5. You put three mushrooms in S but put coffe been in D, hello? You know they go together?
6.Hypno shroom is D at the highest
7. Chomper is garbage
8. Doom Shroom in S but cherry in C? Huh?
9. Grave buster in A but lily pad in D? Both are specific to a type of level so why are they so far apart?
10.Gloom is the easiest S ever
I could keep going, anyway still liked the video because you have good editing but the opinions are actual trash lmao

Scardy Shroom did not deserve that 😭
Why is he even in front of the wall nut?!?!?!
One of my friends thought wall nut was a patto
My boy Potato Mine didnt deserve to be on the D tier😭 It's cheap cost is very good to collect many sun at the beginning of the game
Poor little guy
For each and every plant, I tried to replicate their face on their turn. Every. Single. One.
NOT PUTTING CATTAIL IN S IS A CRIME
I got sunny days with it put it on survival pool and spwm sunflower
the chomper can eat through a wall nut, really helpful in some cases
i use potato mines to stall zombies so i can get a double lane of sunflower and then 1 lane of repeaters (ive beaten PVZ 10 times in total)
also whoever said repeaters are for early game your wrong you can totally use repeaters in late game too for example i got to wave 6 without planting a single gatling pea (i had to upgrade after) btw this is survival day hard if your wondering
I cannot believe you put the peashooter in c tier that plant deserves S tier from its iconic status alone
I thought the squash was a pear when I was a kid
For me , puff shroom and potato mine should be s tier .
Day : during early game , potato mine can waste the zombie time while building line of sun flower , since zombie usually gose 1by1 in early game.
Night : no need to ask , puff shroom is free.
Btw who the hell put scardy shroom on top of the lane ? I always put him behind sun shroom , he have the same damage of a peashooter
I think that they should partially rank on when you get them- peashooters are so OG and usefull
Man if you were a speed runner chomper would be so much higher
Nah jake I get it, I too thought the wallnut was a potato
S:hypno shoom, ice shroom, doom shroom squash imitate, gloom shroom.
A: cattail, cob cannon, garlic, threepeater, tall nut.
B: wall nut, cherry bomb, tangle kelp, torchwood, spiker rock, gatling pea melon pult, winter melon, coffees bean, pumpkin star fruit, chomper.
C: umbrella leaf, marigold, twin sun flower, kernel pule, cabbage pult
D: peashooter potato mine Snow pea, prepater puff shroom, sun shroom fume shroom, grave
buster.
F: sea shroom scaredy shroom, planern magnet shroom, cactus, split pea, flower pot, blover, lily pad, spikeweed and I forgot one the gold magnets sorry about that.
zomg I TOTALLY thought the squash Looked Like a Butt lolz😂
cabbage pult main here, i just love his design, the way he attacks and the fac that he has double damage than the peashooter but due to the slow attack it has almost the same dps as a regular peashooter. I always use him on easy levels just for fun and as another low cost attacker
B tier for me at minimum, S as maximum
Never let bro cook again!! 😭😭
Cherry Bomb and Potato mine B tier at least!! Buddy is ranking his own usage time😭😭
This video is so unhinged yet polite at the same time, I love it ❤
5:45 JUST PLANT HIM BEHIND THE WALNUTS OMG
when i was a kid i thought the wall nut was a loaf of bread because he takes long to die
The fact that my boy Snow pea is in the same tier as Chomper! You got me fucked up if you think this injustice will stand!
When I compared 5 Threepeaters and 13 Starfruits I discovered that 13 Starfruits are more powerful than 5 Threepeaters.
Did you know Walnut and tall nut are brothers😂
That makes wallnuts story that much sadder haha
"just like me irl, this thing lives to be sat on" 💀
Never spoken truer words
For some reason it's so cursed not seeing at least 2-3 rows of twin sunflowers because thats how I always play
