I mean. The cast of Winners at War was absolutely insane. I still get chills watching them walk in. It just didn’t turn out as cutthroat as this one tbh.
This is the most epic intro ever. Any fan of Survivor from back in the day has to get chills when they see names like Colby and Rob on the screen again after so many years and seasons.
This has to be one of the top 5 intros from the entire series. Everyone gets epic introductions (the tone change on Russell's intro, Jerri's expression, Rob's ferocity, Rupert's warcry), the slowly-increasing crescendo that plays throughout the theme, the way the intros are timed to the music...it's amazing!
I hated the final 6 and the pre merge was good, but so many of my favorites were gone early. I know it's just a matter of preference. This is still a fantastic season and I'll watch over and over. I just wish Randy and Tyson made merge at least.
TheOne legend because of the narrative thats been pushed down our throats for at that point a decade. We’re 10 years removed from it, at that time sure, but Cagayan had some of the best players and gameplay ever imo. It’s just not the narrative they push

The reason why Candice was put on the Heroes tribe is because she was traded production said they couldn't have Amanda, Parvati, and James on the same tribe. So, they traded Parvati for Candice. Candice was originally a villain.
What I love about this cast is that this is basically All Stars 2 with a hole new generation of players. Like it's basically season 10-19 for the all star cast. But what I love is that they only put in the most memorable people from the early season like Colby, Jerri, Rob, Sandra, and Rupert because they're so memorable but they keep the rest of the cast as just from seasons 10-19.
This was the first season I saw from beginning to end. Now I’m watching this show from season 1 to see when they were all introduced the first time and how they got into their teams.
They did something like that in the heroes vs healers vs hustlers intro too. If you look at the end where they show the logo you can see what looks like Ben in the background on the left side of the screen
Sol Sool I'm happy they skipped over Mike and Cochran, but a lot of 1-20 winners still were left out. (Tina, Vecepia, Aras, J.T., Natalie, etc.) Heck, if there was ever a winner from beyond season 20 who should've came back, it should've been Fabio.

She was brought back because she was the first person to mutiny, she was an applicant and a huge fan of the game and because not one but two people fell in love with her in Cook Islands. Her decisions in Heroes v villains were NOT dumb (they turned out to be wrong ones) because she was NEVER in the alliance with the heroes in the first place. She was the Sandra of the heroes tribe, on the outs, closest ally gone and forced to band with people who dont trust her. Her decision seemed logical.
Imagine if Colby faked sucking at challenges the whole season then in the final 5 and 4 he goes all out wins both challenges and most likely clean sweeps all the jury votes would of been epic
I think Jerri‘s survivor journey has ended. She went from villain to hero and she had her best result her last try. I do want to see Courtney back for comic relief
Candace wasn't originally supposed to be on HvV but they asked her to replace someone who couldn't come on the show (I think it was Corinne for the Villains tribe). So Candace was supposed to be on the Villains tribe. But producers realized they couldn't have Parvati, Amanda, Cirie, and James all on the same Heroes tribe. So they switched Parvati and Candace.
There were lots of people who were asked but were cut or couldn't make it including Corinne e.g. Shii An and Vecepia (both pregnant), Shambo (declined), Yau-Man (work) and Penner and Shane (cut). At least they are some I've heard of. I also heard the Candice was meant to be a Villain tho because she said somewhere she was given red clothes to wear and they were taken from her and replaced with blue clothes.
Something about 0:08 through 0:14 hits so hard, then we have the heroes introduction and it makes me have this feeling that is so complexed but I’m also so nostalgic hearing/seeing it
Danielle betrayed Terry after he taught her to make fire but that her main villainous moment Candice was just loyal to Adam and Parvati and was brave enough to show it according to Jeff
Candace was more memorable in Cook Islands than Parvati because of her mutiny. She actually was asked back for Micronesia but was in med school, so either Parvati or Amanda were selected in her place. Had Candace been in Micronesia instead of Parvati, the population would've probably remembered her easier
This is without a doubt the best season of all time, but let's be real here, if we are talking Survivor HEROES VS VILLAINS, this should have been the cast. I understand most of these people weren't able to come back for one reason or another, but just think how much even more epic this season would have been. Oh man I so wish Hatch and Cesternino came back. I feel like their undeserved early exits in All Stars would've allowed their reputations to be more hidden in HvV and they could've easily kicked ass, like Tina actually did in BvW after waiting since All Stars to play again.
I just realized that 10 years later, the Villains tribe is stacked with 12 FTC appearances and 5 wins, compared to the Heroes tribe that have only 7 FTC appearances and 2 wins.
Rupert in pearl islands was super overrated. After Burton was voted out that tribe collapsed, and he was a big reason for Saboga's collapse too. He got lucky to be in a tribe Boston Rob dominated.
+Henny Ben Cagayan and Pearl Islands will be the most beloved seasons with only new players for years to come, but i wouldn't put love for either above Cambodia or Heroes vs Villains.

Ian Davidson apparently Game Changers was supposed to have one tribe full of winners but they only got like what three winners or something, so I think a winners season is still far away.
As someone who has seen this season, it is pretty nostalgic to see all 20 survivors. My fav people from this though were probably Candice, Sandra, and Rupert though lol
