I'm a big aMSa fan, and Mang0's take is correct. aMSa was playing fucking incredible that tournament, and I definitely favored him to win over Mang0. But the dude looked lost. I remember thinking basically the same thing when Jmook figured out whoever it was, "welp, now this looks completely unwinnable again." aMSa was wrecking house at Summit and looked like he could win the whole thing and then Mang0 stopped him like a wall and made him play bad.
i'm not sure how anyone could look at the games and the wins aMSa was pulling out in this tournament (that iBDW win? c'mon) and say that he was playing poorly going into Mango. even in the crew battle i remember thinking "oh he's playing REAL well..."
Amsa fucked up by not warming up for mango, he said on commentary that the only thing he did before wf was watch the vod of him beating mango at tbh. His tech chases vs mango and ibdw suffered for it.
Mang0 played great, but Amsa didn't play his best against him. I can definitely buy that Mang0 just owned him in the neutral, but Amsa also was dropping many edgeguards that he was hitting earlier in the tournament.
@@mynameisrandy he was missing his edgeguards bc he couldn't get a handle of the games. Amsa massively shit on every other Fox this Summit, it's crazy
At the end of the day, Mang0 played better than aMSa. That's all anyone has to care about.

Fox is simultaneously the easiest and hardest character in the game. On one hand, he has a lot of crazy techskill that is very hard. On the other hand, he racks up damage like crazy, and has free as fuck kill setups.
If you're good technically fox is an easy character

Summit 14 was already like the most entertaining tournament I’ve watched. All of my favorite top players were present and the side events were hilarious and so was the commentary. But then on top of it all Mango won with falco. This tournament was freaken awesome
I just got done watching the set. You closed that out quick surprisingly. Good stuff, IBDW almost had you at the very end. Good stuff either way. Congrats on winning Summit 14 🥭

I feel like Mango is underrating Cody’s year by a lot, he has positive head to head records against everyone in the top 10* except Mango. He doesn’t really get upset ever, especially in the second half of the year (he lost a set to aMSa at Summit but their difference in seeding was 1, and he won the runback). He also has the same amount of major wins as Mango, and they’re all equivalent in terms of prestige (LTC = Phantom, Smash Con = Double Down, Summit 14 = Summit 13). And Mango has some great second places but Cody’s runs to 3rd at Genesis and TBH were very impressive also. Mango said it’s good for him if Cody takes Apex over Zain but actually I think he should be hoping for an aMSa or Hbox win because if Cody takes Apex he’s probably #2 above Mango, at least until whatever tourney happens next after that.

This has been true of any rankings, at the end of the day if you have more tournament wins than the other person, then you are above them. There's a reason Jmook isn't higher right now.
Jmook objectively has way better overall head2head and probably average placement than Hbox but he hasn't won so Hbox is above him.

one the the last takes from Mang, melee has money for no reason dont know where it is coming from. Easy, the skill ceiling is very high with all the unintended things one can do. Fast pace, the back story of the gods, the new gods. The story is great, Ultimate has G4 Leo, young spargo, 3 stocks and no crazy button sequences

Hbox case is: way more consistent year than mango who didnt make top 8 at the first three majors and not top4 for half the majors he entered this year. Same amount of major wins and hbox has two more second places.
