My Dad used to listen to these guys way back. I like them now too, is that a sign of getting old? No. It is a sign of wisdom, maturity and good taste. Classic players!

The first time I saw the Harmonicats was at the Sherman Hotel in Chicago while at an American Trucking Associations annual convention In the 50's I think.

@arkaburger If Mr. Gibson was fortunate enough to know Pete Pedersen, or as I call him " Uncle Pete" he met one of the coolest guys ever. A great player as well. Just for the record, Pete was a successful musician and composer and wrote most all of the arrangements for The Cats however he was never a member of the group. He was in the Harmonica Rascals. He was also Jerry Murads' best friend since they were kids in Chicago.
I own this record! Picked it up almost by mistake, and now its always part of the collection. Jerry Murad is great!
Great stuff. My grandfather had one of your albums, "Peg O' My Heart" and I inheirited it after he passed. I still enjoy listening to it. Glad to see you guys still up and running.

Wonderful music from 3 incredible musicians.
The group with the little guy is Borah Minevitch and The Harmonica Rascals,one of the funniest acts in vaudeville. Jerry Murad left the Rascals,formed The Harmonicats and recorded Peg O' My Heart. To this day, The Rascals are mistaken for The Harmonicats since they were famous and The Harmonicats,an unknown group at the time, had the hit record. An understandable case of mistaken identity.
I'm just wondering who is doing the posting here under the Harmonicats name. I'm a son of a bass player that has played in a 3 piece harmonica band since the early '60's. We knew Jerry, Al, and Don well as well as Dick Gardner too. Thanks.
By pushing the slide button on this harmonica called a chromatic harmonica allows you to play the sharps and flats of the scale, same as when you play the black keys on the piano. Thanks for viewing.
Is this the same group that played on ED SULLIVAN that had the little short guy who would try to get in by the microphone and they shoved him out of the way until the last notes????????
We regret to inform everyone of the passing of JR Mass, bass player in this video and brother to the chord player, Joe Jr., also playing here, on Jan. 5. Our deepest condolences to his family and brother Joe. The world has lost a true bass harmonica master.
@sonnyrunner There's another connection between the Harmonicats and current blues harmonica players. BMA winner Billy Gibson was a student of former Harmonicat Pete Pedersen.
