I really don't know anything about it and I am looking for a good zoom lens for the iPhone 15 pro max. What I want is that I want to be able to zoom a lot further with the video camera, if possible, and with decent quality of course. Where do I use this; at the football, at a concert and at Tomorrowland. The problem is that I always stand very far away to film, I don't like standing in the crowd. That's why I need a good lens for video camera zooming (with a suitable case) for this for a maximum of 200 euros. Which is good both during the day and in the dark.
4:57 Haven't you noticed the vignetting when you move the camera? I have the same issue with the Beastgrip X1.7 tele. I bet it's your ND filter. On sticks, these lenses have no vignetting. However, with camera movement, I have to do an X1.4 zoom with their tele lens to eliminate the vignette. With their wide lens, this may be a bigger issue. Their lens is already X0.75 instead of X0.5 (the native ultra-wide lens in the iPhone 15 Pro), but you'll probably have to get to X0.85 or 0.9 to eliminate the vignetting. If you don't want to zoom or crop in post, the solution is probably to get an adaptor ring and use bigger NDs. I already had a 67mm set, for better or worse.
Doesn't the DOF adapter result in vignetting because of how far light has to travel to reach the sensor? It's nice to have options, but idk if I'm a fan of the vignette.
Appreciate you showing us all of these test results. I just wish there more options for mounting lenses and filters to phones that are in a case. Some companies like Moment have this option, but their cases don't seem very protective.
Awesome video ! I don't know if i must wait the new beastcage for iPhone 15 or not... To tell you the truth, I'm a little tired of waiting. So, you have the older version and no problem for iPhone 15 ? Thanks !
I don't understand why these rig companies don't understand the niche they are making products for? Anyone who wants a cage for a phone camera wants a small, lightweight cage that can add ND filters and easy access to SSDs. I don't want a bulky, large cage that equals the size of my cine rig????
Fr. I want a grip that plugs straight into the usbc slot and with built in ports and cfexpress type b slots in the back of it. Screws right into a compatible SLIM metal cage on opposite ends of the USB c port. And with 2 coldshoe mounts on top as well as a tripod mount on the bottom. A mount for lenses and filters and then space for a magsafe battery and I'm GOOD. I fxcking HATE the bulk of these rigs. Stxpid asf.
i am looking to buy an anamorphic lens of best grip and i am between 1,33x and 1,55x . Generally i prefer the 1,33 for diastortion etc but how they compare to sharpness ?
Curious about this too and struggling to find anyone comparing the Cage vs the Grip.

Michael! That plane shot, I'm guessing you filmed all in ProRes, what if you digitally crop in Resolve. Would that render a better quality than zooming in on the phone camera???
Would like to know more about the best way to just add ND filters to the iPhone 15 Pro And Pro Max for having a good compact camera in your pocket. Something that compliments your new grip with SSD.
@@initialfocus - Yes - but I need a case that supports both holding an SSD and supports mounting ND and other filters. That is the new what the new iPhone 15 Pro's need. The case you came up with is a solution for SSD only. Now, how do we have the capability to have both????
@@leodileodileo Because you have a fixed aperture - the iPhones are approx 1.8. The ND filter allows you to step down for a correct exposure. I use the BMC app and a fixed ISO of 1250 for maximum dynamic range from the iPhone ProRes 422 Log. My VND allows me to do it easily.
@@chrisbogart687 ok I have some nd filters for my mirrorless camera lenses , but i've never feel the needs of using one on a phone, you will have sharper no bokeh photo also at 1.8 unless you're using the (fake bokeh effect)the is digital. I will search for more info online but for now I just don't get it.
Question.. for my work the S23 ultra has a DETAIL image of teeth and gums .. I am an Apple user .. whit the iPhone 15 pro max camara still CaNt get the proper image like Samsung.. what Lens do y recommend to get that clear detail image.. happy with my IOS operating system
i agree if you plan to get better at one point. If you are not planing anything with cameras just trying to make some fun with your phone and premier, Why not.
My phones go everywhere I go, my cameras didn’t. I plan on buying the Beastgrip anamorphic lens (unsure which one) when the iPhone 15 cage is release. I don’t carry a calc, have a watch or carry day planner, etc.. anymore either. The lens will be in my car ready to use. Works for me. My only interest now is video and the quality of the 15 is good enough for my use.
All three lenses and the LiDAR sensor on the back of the iphone are calibrated to another and used in harmony for computing focus, HDR, flare reduction, color harmony, stabilization and rolling shutter. It’s what makes the investment work. So good job nullifying that by sticking a piece of after market plastic in front of it 👑.
Another lens review video where there are no images available to download. It feels like every reviewer is actually selling a product. We all need to make a living I suppose.
Thank you so much for this video. Its so good to know the new Beastgrip Lenses works with iPhone 15 Pro Max.
I might have to pick up one of the lenses! Thank you for trying them all and sharing your results. Super helpful!
I was also curious what would happen if you stuck their 0.75x lens on the iPhone's ultra-wide camera, so thanks for answering that question!

what iPhone lens on the 12 pro max or even the 16 pro max should I use when I attach the 0.75 wide pro series?

3D print your own case

There are smaller rigs. This is the large one. Several companies, including Beastgrip make them.
Yep. Smallrig for example or Neewer

Wonder how these lenses go with Pixel 8 Pro and beastgrip rig.
3:32 возможно это просто размытие?(А фокусировка на фонтане)
Или действительно недостаток линзы?(
How do you rate the wide and tele lenses to the options from Sandmarc?
how to eliminate the green dot flare?what filter do you use?
@initialfocus DO you reccomend any particular BT remote start/stop for iphone?
I am definitely a Beastgrip fan. I was wondering which set up you prefer. The Beastgrip cage or the Beastgrip grip pro.

Since the 1.7 telephoto is 62mm, you cant mount a Moment ND filter on it right?

Plenty of cases support filter mounts to keep things minimal! Moment, PolarPro etc.

when we start buying lenses, filters, adapters etc for phones..... time to buy a camera.
Hm, spending 300 ish dollars on the filters + lenses + cases Vs spending a 1000 on a camera... If you have the phone, might as well kit it out.

The moment Tseries 58 is horrendous, very soft on the outside and you have to manually focus...avoid like the plague!

Horrible cases...
Just buy the s23 ultra if you want good pics you don't need any special lenses
