Unfortunately all I can do is turn on/off Bose. It doesn't support volume or changing channels, but I believe that is due to the particular speaker I have.... Worth getting if you already have other devices to use it with... I don't sit around and ask Alexa questions much so that doesn't really matter to me....

We keep our data ourself and that’s how smart we and our homes are. Just visited a friends house which is a new smart home set up. It was very interesting but kinda scary too 😁

The problem with Smart Bulbs is, if there is powercut, when power resumes , the bulb turns On, It becomes a major issue if you turn off the bulb using voice before sleep & power goes at 2AM & when it comes back the bulb is On ruining your sleep, so for me it didn't fulfil my purpose to place in bedroom to turn off before sleep after reading a book.
Now THIS is something useful to learn on a Sunday, unlike the chip-chip that the bearded TG fellow keeps doing every Sunday where there is a lot of talk but not enough learning.
My Echo Show routine 1- Alexa Good Morning Alexa " Turns on light, Tells temperature, Calendar and appointments, Mail count, News briefing, Good day quote and at last Apple Podcast for 1 hour" Yup it is helpful😎
If anyone has a older switch box, my smart room setup may give you some ideas. So I use sonoff smart plug which I ordered for around 700-1 plug. So I ordered 4 of them for my two lights and two fans, and in the switchboard connected the swith between the main wire and switchboard switch. I paired it with the sonoff app and then fixed it in the wire box(remember for older one) and fixed the switchboard again. This way my plug was too hidden and by pairing it with alexa I could use it smartly like smart lights and fans..... Hope you could consider this way for your home setup.
If I keep the switches for fans and lights on for 24 hours a day and very frequently give voice commands for turning on and off the fans and lights by voice command via Alexa or Google Assistant, will there be more electricity consumption and increase in electric bill amount?

And routines with alexa or Google Assistant it's really cool, I don't wait to get home to get everything going, when I'm driving just say to Assistant that I will be arriving home.. and turns the lights from the living room, heater... And the front lights turn on at sunset, and turns off at sunrise...
