    Very nice and fast! The timber framing came out beautiful. While I have never worked with cob before a wet paint brush works well for smoothing out cement.

    I would have loved to see some glass bottles mixed in the cob to bring in some colorful natural light

      @gasworksend4blues 6 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Seen glass beer jugs used in a thin wall like this one, the dimpled sort with a handle which helps with anchoring the glass into the wall plus you get a little cubbyhole for tea lights or alike.

    Wow, Beth is a total cob ninja!!! :-)
    It'll be a khazi fit for a king mate, got to get some books in there for a truly royal constitutional. ;-)
    Would be cool if you could mount one of your amazing carved bowls on the wall for a wash basin...

    • @gb8014
      @gb8014 6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Sir, I´ll have you know that rolling it from behind is the only way to keep a cat from unrolling it, and therefore the correct way of doing it.

    I think you should have installed a TP holder on the other side too. Because over time, you're going to be shifting the toilet seat to the other side, swapping back and forth. Then, you'd have to reach across the room, slightly standing up (while messy) before you can wipe.

    Are you going to cob the front of the seat? Also, a secret for mid-winter. Cut a seat from blue or pink foam. It's like magic. It feels warm the instant bare skin comes in contact with it.

  • @rebekahlegionsundaygirljou5543
    @rebekahlegionsundaygirljou5543 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    +Kris Harbour Did You know You can add coloured glass bottles into the cob for natural light? That You can create beautiful stained glass effect patterns with coloured glass bottles? Someone has mentioned You can also incorporate glass beer jugs which will create glass cubbyholes inside for tealight candles too! I Love the look of cob houses with little sections of glass bottles. Please consider it as it really does add a beautiful architectural feature & lets in natural light or coloured light depending on whether You go for clear glass or Cobalt Blue/Green/Turquoise/Amber/Red/Pink/Violet/Brown glass etc The World is Your oyster with glass bottles & other features You can add. Keep Your eyes open for old doors that have little stained glass leadlight panels in them too as the panels can be removed & added as little tiny feature windows in Your walls. Definitely open Your mind to how You can add more interest, beauty & light to Cob Houses. You'd be surprised how much of a huge impact bottles have & You can literally create any patterns You like or just add a block of light or colour. You still get privacy too which is why for a Bathroom They're a great option! :)

    That toilet building is coming along nicely, but I wonder if you plan on making it heated somehow? If not, it can get very unpleasant to sit down on the toilet seat during winter.

    A sWelsh speaker love seeing 'Tŷ Bach' is very appropriate, from were the original meaning comes from, the 'Little House Outside'. But in North Wales where I'm from we'd refer to a Toilet as 'Lle Chwech" it comes from the slate workers there toilets where open space building with six holes to sit on 'Lle' means 'Place or spot', Chwech' means 'Six' :D

    Will there be a bog-roll holder for the other side as well?
    I imagine it'd get quite nippy during winter, do you have any plans for warmth in there or do you rug up and deal with it?
    Keep up the great work, mate!

    What's all the space behind the toilet seats for? Do you have thousands of toilet rolls to store? Is the composting taking place in a huge chamber below the toilets? I actually don't know if I want to see inside....

    Perhaps the wrong question but, would you consider sharing your tattoos with us? We only get glimpses of what appears to be very fine work. Or perhaps you have and I've missed that video? If so, which one was it?
    I realize this request may be an intrusion, if so, I ask your pardon. If a stranger would ask to view mine it might give me pause but I think I might share my dragons. If Anne McCaffrey had asked, I might have cried. (I don't cry.)

    But what about when you rotate the loo seat, and have to lean that far over to get to the TP? While composting is an excellent idea for solid human waste, is there any way to address the flies? I know flies will not be attracted to at least half-composted wastes, before that time they're going to be attracted.

    The only negative I see is the roof slope should have been turned 90* so the water sheds off to the sides and not to your door.
