I loved your video. Sending my best from California, USA. My Marines Unit & I Climbed to Top of Fuji San in 1989 Tour of Duty. US Marines. #Bravo Company
Shout out to the dog which climbed Mt Fuji at 3:09. Good job, buddy! And nice video, Kabayan! I am a new subscriber, hope to see more of your adventures.
Yes! I almost punked out towards the last bit.🤣 There was a trail you could turn back down the mountain, and it was so tempting.. but again, I'm so glad I finished because I would have regretted that decision for the rest of my life because that view at the top brought me to tears it was so beautiful. I'm definitely doing it again, but I'll be in better shape next time.😊lol. I was not prepared the first time.
I actually never considered climbing Mt. Fuji without seeing the sunrise. I'll be in Japan beginning of September, I might finally do it. Update: I managed to book a hut and climbed overnight in the first week of September. I think it would have literally killed me if I did it in one go :D 6 hours to the 8th station hut of which it rained the first 3, another 2 to the top and 5 hours down. 30 Minutes into the descent I was contemplating just staying up there forever.
Hey! Kabayan! Thanks for dropping by! Filipina here and I just love hiking in Japan. Hope you can experience the mountains of Japan as well! Salamat po.
I love your video. What is the earliest you can get from kawaguchiko to 5th station using public transport? What is the latest public transportation from 5th station to kawaguchiko? Maybe a bad thing to do - do you think it is possible to leave shinjuku at 645 am, climb fuji and come back on the same day to shinjuku?
Hi, thanks for the great video. I want to do a 2 day hike trip with hut reservation but since all of them seem to be full I am planning to do a day trip. What time do I need to descend to catch a cab or bus back to nearby town(don't have to be tokyo)
Hi thank you for the wonderful sharing. It is always good to take reference from your channel. Perhaps just one comment about the colour grading used in most of your videos. It make the footages very dark whereby perhaps it is best to shown the nature best in its most vibrant colour. Anyway keep up the good work. Cheers..
I climbed Mt. Fuji in August this year! Unfortunately, the shops at the summit were closed and I couldn't get my final stamp. I think they were doing construction. Were they open for you? Congrats on doing the bullet climb! =D
Hi there , great video !! I am planning to hike on 25 th this month . Solo hike ! My bus is ti yoshida trail fifth station but my accommodation is Taiyokan hut on 7th station . Do you this is a good idea to proceed? Thanks in advance
Hi Devon, good day! Taiyokan hut is in Subashiri Trail which is out of the Yoshida Trail from Fuji Subaru Line 5th Station. Please check map on the link below. There are numbers of mountain huts along Yoshida route. I hope you can book on your hiking day. www.fujisan-climb.jp/en/mountain_huts_and_toilets.html Enjoy and hike safely! 🙏🏻♥️
We plan to climb mt. Fuji on the 10. of semptember. I understand that this is the last day of the climbing season. Are the stations still open that day?
Thanks for dropping by, I believe you meant trail stations/mountain huts. It is still open on Sept. 10 and the descending trail will remain open until Septerber 11 morning. Keep safe and enjoy! :)
Great video! My Fiance and I plan on doing the hike this July. I see that it took 4 hours to get to the top, how long did it take to get back down? We also plan on doing it in 1 day but wasnt sure what time to start. Did you go at the pace in the speed pretty much the whole time? Thanks in advance!
Hi Brant, we started at 9am and was drizzly at that time but still we had beautiful weather. We did little breaks (5-10mins) in between. I did my normal pace and little steps 😂 as you can see in my video. Took us 3hrs to descend. Please bring headlamps in case it gets dark it would be really helpful. This hike took me 9hrs in total back to 5th station. I hope this helps and enjoy the hike this July! ❤🎉😊
Thanks so much for the info! I was also wondering if you knew when the last bus tends to leave during the climbing season from the 5th station? I just don't know what time we need to make sure we are back down by. I've searched many sites some say as early as 5 others say as late as 8
Are there any hotels in fifth station ? I am planning to do it this month 26 th and want to do it in a day . But doubt about to get a room in fifth station in case
Amazing vid! Thank you. We plan to hike on Sept 2nd this year. This vid helps us get ready and know what we're up against. Thank you so much!!! Do you know if early Sept is rainy already? TIA
How did you get to the 5th station from Tokyo for 9am? I really want to try and do this in one day also but don't know which transport to get to get there?
Hi, we left from Shinjuku night before our planned hiking day. We stayed at ryokan nearby Fuji-kawaguchiko station. Took taxi the next morning from Fuji-kawaguchiko to 5th station since we cannot make if we're going to wait for the bus.
Great video. Where did you stay the night before and how did you go to the trailhead from your hotel? Going in July and all the huts are fully booked :(
Hello Dear, we stayed at Yamagishi Ryokan night before our planned hike. It was also the last day of 2022 hiking season and hotels nearby are fully booked and this was our last option. We hired a taxi cab from Kawaguchiko Station to 5th station the next day. You can also check the earliest bus departure from Kawaguchiko Stn. to 5th station so you dont have to catch taxi which is a bit pricey. Hope this helps. Have fun! ☺️
@@ShayRNtraveler598 There`s taxi stand next to Kawaguchiko station. If you are staying in Ryokan/hotel better ask help to prebook taxi for you. You can contact Fujikyu Yamanashi Higher Co., Ltd. ,Reservation / Arrangement 0555-22-1800 Toll free number 0120-818-229. You don`t want to wait for the bus in the cold for hours as even catching taxi is really tough esp. a lot of tourists are back.
Nope, going back down you have to take the path used exclusively for descents. Be careful at 8th station junction (Shita-edoya hut) not to take Subashiri trail. Always check the sign board and follow Yoshida trail. 🎉 ***If you go down the Subashiri Trail by mistake, you cannot get back onto the Yoshida Trail.
