The Battle To Save Celtic: Part 2 - David Low | "They Got Their Money With Eight Minutes To Spare!"

  • 30 years ago this very month Scots-Canadian businessman Fergus McCann swept into Celtic Park and secured the clubs very existence with an eleventh hour investment that would alter the course of Celtic’s history for ever.
A move such as that however can’t be engineered by just one man and many figures played a key role in what eventually took place on that day back on the 4th of March 1994.
In this special new series by The Celtic Exchange we speak to some of those individuals as we bring you the inside stories of what unfolded during that incredible time in Celtic history.
We’re looking at the story from all angles and in Part 2 we speak with David Low, who was widely regarded as Fergus McCann's right hand man during the takeover.
David tells us just what was going on with the old Celtic Board at that time and the strategy that, eventually, saw them ousted from the corridors of Celtic Park.

Easily the best structured and delivered Celtic-related podcast available and that level is improving from others year-on-year. The high quality mics, the tasteful lighting, coupled with the appropriate use of audio dampening panels add to exquisite sonic performance too.
Not sure of your background Tino, but guess it’s media related?
Delivery is excellent, concise with an ‘edge’ of humour added; not always the easiest combination to achieve?
Great company on my long walks (alone or otherwise 😆🍀) while recovering from a cardiac arrest on April Fools day while training for a 312km cycle race in Majorca.
I remember this turbulent time vividly, yet still learned several items from the first two episodes having been a ST holder in the Main Stand since 1988.
I wish you the best for continued success. J🍀✅

One of the good guys, who support the football club. People may not realise how bitter the battle for Celtic became. Tv stations, newspapers, and radio stations all became pawns in this as the different factions pushed their agenda. The push to relocate to Cambuslang had double page pullouts of the new stadium. But we can thank David and others like him ,for keeping us at Celtic park.

Great insightful interview with a very important man in the wrestling of control from the old incompetent board. Thank you very much David for all you did It'll always be appreciated. God bless wee Fergus. I wish we had a Fergus now..omni present..fighting our corner.. and we could restructure the current running of our beloved club. A fan advisory board is being pushed for by the Celtic trust and that would be a step in the right direction. We as fans are the lifeblood of the club and always have been. We deserve a greater say and not be treated as customers and only contacted to sell us merchandise and tickets. Hail Hail

There's plenty of leagues around the world if it's not two teams who dominant it's one look at Bayern Munich 12 years in a row or PSG or Ajax or Fenyoord the teams they play against are no match to them in that league yet all do well in Europe look at Brighton in Europe thats a joke west ham as well its the money that make them to process in Europe so if we dominant our league we should still compete in Europe we have the money mibbi not as much as them but PSG and Bayern spent millions and in the billions for wages to win in there term are inferior we need to stop saying or bring down or own league they might be inferior to us but Bayern is winners 12 years in a row so it's football its a 11 men
