    PT and OT professionals are the real heroes. Surgeons are good at cutting, drilling, scraping, and sewing to get things back in the right position but the PT and OT team is who really deal with the human long term. Shout out to the people who help with the recovery portion of surgery.

    • @meisenhut31
      @meisenhut31 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@roberto125919 true, surgery doesn't always work, but we're talking about trauma surgery here, not surgery for chronic back pain and such. If your wrist, femur, or, spine is broken in an accident you better hope you have a surgeon to piece you back together to stand a chance to heal.

    • @prophez23
      @prophez23 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@roberto125919yup you are absolutely right! As someone who is permanently disabled because of a failed back surgery I can contest to that. This freakin surgeon promised me the world said I'd feel like I was 17 again. He said he'd done over 500 of these surgeries and some on football players who are out taking hits on the field etc. Dude was nothing but a used car salesman. I knew something wasn't right the moment I woke up good and two weeks later I absolutely knew something was not right. Went in for the follow-up and was told that the surgery was a failure and I'd need an additional surgery to fix it. After the first hell I said no way to ever doing it again and now I'm stuck in a broken body racked with pain.

I still get anxiety and pain in my chest when I drive in the rain. Moments like these make you reevaluate things and I'm just thankful you were able to walk away. From personal experience, I would bet that the Emergency Department (ED) staff would appreciate seeing this at least as much as the OT's appreciated your gift. As a (former) journeyman machinist and current ED nurse, I have a unique perspective on both worlds. It is one of the hardest things we deal with personally in the ED, when you send a critical patient out and have no idea how they do afterwards. It is totally against privacy laws (HIPA) to look up and see what has happened with our patients so we often do not get that closure, even though we care deeply for what happens to them. Thank you for making this and for your kindness to those who helped you when you needed it.

    Life is so precious. We tend to forget that because of our daily routines. I remember hearing the news. The wife and I were devastated. We are so glad that you are still with us my brother. I don't know how Barry would be able to handle all of the attention and credit if you weren't there! What a really nice gift and piece of art (yet again). What's really amazing is how our lives can be altered when we connect with other random people. The things they do for us and what we do for them. It was really cool seeing the expression on Destinee's face. That to me was priceless. This should be a good reminder to not take anything for granted or walk away mad. They said we could try. 6 months later, I’ve got about 95% of strength and mobility back. From dry needling to cupping to strength training to mobility exercises to ice compressions. They put me through the wringer. It’s so awesome to see that you were able to make them (not buy) a custom tool that they will cherish. Glad you made it through the whole process.

    I worked as a welder building steel buildings, and had a fairly significant fall in 2001. I herniated three disc in my neck, broke the radial head off my arm bone, and shattered my right wrist. The orthopedic surgeon said my wrist was the second worst wrist he'd ever seen. The worst wrist was a guy who had been shot in the wrist with a shotgun. The surgeon rebuilt my wrist with a screw and some cadaver bone. My wrist was in a cast for a total of six months. I did physical therapy, but was only ever to gain very, very minimal movement in my wrist. I wonder if I would have gotten better results if my therapist had had a tool like that. I've learned to adapt over the last 22 years. If you're anything like me, using a hammer a lot will cause pain and inflammation the next day.

    First, it is nothing short of a miracle you survived that accident.
    Second, I love how you took the time and the care to genuinely say "thank you" to the amazing team who helped you get back to normal by making them a tool of their trade, which also looks INCREDIBLE. To me that's what makes doing "manufacturing" so rewarding is the ability to make things like that which hold sentimental, but also practical value too. Not to mention the "feel" of titanium is incredible too!
    Also, I wonder how many bad things Barry taught your kid while he was the impromptu babysitter ;-)

    Definitely blessed to not only be here still but to have been put into the right PT to be able to address your issues so easily!
    Rollercoaster video that shows such gratitude for those just doing the best for each other without any expectations 💚💚💚 glad you’re still here to give Barry a hard time haha

    Glad you are safe man. This is the first video of yours I have seen.
    I am so happy to see how grateful you were for the assistance you received.
    I could tell your therapists really appreciated the time you took to make them something. I am sure you all had previously discussed the work that goes into making things. They know you spent countless hours making these for them.

    It's kind of funny how things work out like that with Barry. True friend and a truth co-worker. I have a coworker like that where I pick on everyday he picks on me. In the end I keep on calling you're a friend of mine. He laughs and tells me I'm gay but I'm not And I have three kids with my wife. I'm just glad you survive that wreck.

    I’ve had iastm tools before and these things are amazing. Had extremely bad shin splints from over training and had a fitness trainer use these on me. Thank god for my hometown’s sports clinic they do all this work free.

    Wow this video resonated so hard for me
    15 years ago i too was involved in an RTA, and spent two days in a coma. I count myself lucky not to remember a thing at all, so i dont wake up in the middle of the night in terror.
    The nurses and therapists and all the medical staff have my undying gratitude.
    I hope you make a full and speedy recovery Jessie.
    That was a very tough video for you to make i'm sure. Respect to you.
