Hi, Can i use this magnificent video that you made? i just want to link it on my website so that my visitors sees this amazing place. I would really appreciate, continue to make this type of video. Have a nice day!
Hi, sorry for this very late reply but wasn't notified by YT regarding your post and it ended up in the spam, which is why I only spotted it today and by chance. Ok it might be late but...go ahead if you haven't already done so. You can freely link it in your website! :-)
After the completion of Pisa Tower construction works as soon, due to the Geological Condition of Soil strata may be fractured then the subject structure which is circular & narrow shape foundation in underground become one sided tilting with settlements, impacts of static forces, sinkholes, voids and Earthquakes results causing for the subject kind of happened going on to anchoring with rock or other adjacent structure to make him for the equilibrium forces stand by until now, the grouting exercise will be help full move towards his proper vertical position???
There's an interesting article here: science.howstuffworks.com/engineering/structural/will-leaning-tower-of-pisa-fall.htm and the following pages. Some years ago specific structural works were carried out to reduce the leaning angle of the tower (by anchoring it and pulling it over to reduce the leaning) and in fact it has been closed to tourists for quite a long time. As reported further in the article: By 2001, the team had decreased the tower's lean by 44 centimeters (17 inches), enough to make officials confident that they could reopen the monument to the public. Even after the drilling had stopped, the tower continued to straighten until, in May 2008, sensors no longer detected any motion. By then, the tower had lost another 4 centimeters (2 inches) of its lean and seemed to be in no immediate peril. The actions taken by Burland and his team could, theoretically, stabilize the structure permanently. The real threat now comes from the masonry itself, especially the material in the lower stories, where most of the forces caused by the centuries-long leaning have been directed. If any of this masonry crumbled, the tower could collapse. And even a minor earthquake in the region could have devastating consequences. In spite of these potential problems, engineers expect the famous structure will remain stable for at least another 200 years. By then, another intervention may be required, but the technology available to make improvements could be far more advanced and preserve the tower for another 800 years. More on the leaning tower worksheet here: www.education.com/worksheet/article/leaning-tower-of-pisa/ . According to this article (in italian), the end of the works was declared in 2001: www1.adnkronos.com/IGN/News/Cultura/Fine-dei-lavori-per-la-Torre-di-Pisa-gia-raddrizzata-di-40-cm_312021645860.html . Another article was posted in 2013 on one of the main newspapers: www.ilgiornale.it/news/interni/fine-delle-certezze-torre-pisa-si-raddrizza-sola-946851.html .
Why didn't you straighten out that Leaning Tower with your camera distortion feature? Ha Ha Just kidding. Love your videos as always. Is the XIAOMI YI 4K the same camera as the YI 4K? Thanks again for your hard work and sharing:)
Ah ah :-) Nice idea! (I mean, straightening the tower with the cam :-) ). YES, the XIAOMI YI 4K is same as YI 4K (the real brand name is XIAOMI YI). As far as I know, lens distortion on the YI 4K isn't available when shooting in 4K (only at lower resolutions, perhaps already at 2.7K and, may be, again, depending on the chosen frame rate), that's why clips do show the rather annoying "barrel" effect. It might be available in the 4K+ model up to 30fps but I'm not sure right now. I could have corrected this in post but the editor used doesn't have lens correction profiles specific for this camera, so it's only possible to correct this by acting on perspective corrections or by using generic profiles. Honestly, at that time, I was at the beginning, and didn't think about correcting this, one way or another. Same with my previous videos shot with the SJCAM SJ5000X ELITE (which I no longer have now). With latest software releases, luckily, I can correct this more effectively and that's why my latest videos don't show lens distortion any more. P.S: Hope to be able to upgrade my system pretty soon, so that I can make new videos, especially the one with the clips shot in Tuscany with the M1 (and the YI 4K as well). My system is definitely no longer usable for rather complex editing that involves heavy color correction and, may be, some FXs.
@@LBTRA Thanks my friend. I find, on my YI 4K anyways, the 1080p60 with Gyro On Hand Held has a rather weird effect. Kind of wavey or like the lens is moving around inside. I just film with Gyro Off and use the Smooth Q Gimbal.
Well, as far as I can tell, internal (software) in-cam stabilization has always been weird compared to stabilization applied in post. And a lot less effective too. Crop fattor might also be rather different in the two cases. This might be a weak point if compared to, for instance, the rather good stabilization that can be achieved with the SJCAM SJ8 Pro, a lot less "wobbling" effect. That's why I never use gyro on the YI, also because I have the gimbal for this. I might give it a try on my YI to see if it does produce the same effect or not. BTW, what firmware are you actually using with your Y1 4K?
