I will never forget this movie. I found it in a Theatre in the back allies of Naha City Okinawa. It was a literal window to another World for me. I carried it with me in my heart all the way to College in the US.
Edward Hermann is such an amazing Actor. HE also played Father Joseph McCabe from "Southie" on St. Elsewhere, he should have gotten an Emmy for his performance. The Actor who played Griggs David Clennon was a Man who although "Graduated" from Harvard and got his Degree didn't mind working as a Dorm Monitor and Cashier in The Cafeteria. He was also brilliant as Miles Drentell on Thirtysomething.
Joshua Johnson is either adopting my notorious philosophy about why I loved law school so much or shamelessly brown nosing at NBC News. If it’s the former, I’m glad I “inspired” him. If it’s the latter, all I can say is brown nosing tends to piss more people off than being honest. Women are usually not allowed to be blunt but I don’t care too much about that if you can’t tell.
relax, that's just what trailers did in the 70's....... they were never shown on tv, that's why. they had to make sure you remembered the trailer before you left the theater.
I couldn't put the Book down when I first read it back in the day. I always looked at Harvard as prestige and glamour since The Kennedy Brothers attended the School. One Critic described it as the antithesis of Love Story & Oliver's Story by Erich Segal (Class Of 1958). If I had to describe it for anyone today it would be The Firm: The Law School Years. Anderson was so right about them not being there at the end of the year it was food for thought.
What Kevin said about The Grades was so true. They do determine Salaries, Mortgages, Timeshares in the Caribbean, etc. I know Kevin's Father In Law must have been so disappointed in what happened to him.
@@jaypickett3552 In The Book Version they "all" knew and Anderson said he wasn't going because he had to Study. Then when Hart suggested that they should go Bell didn't see it that way, he wasn't a very good student and he never showed his outline. Ford said that Kevin made him nervous. When Hart pleaded with Ford to go Ford said he wasn't going. He liked Kevin as a person but he looked at him more as a liability. I think that was the moment that Kevin gave up on being a Lawyer.
Appreciate the opportunity to show the rest of the world how others want to hold me back and think its acceptable to do so. Its not something we should normalize and i have a griup of leaders who allowed us to show that. Ill be moving forward with them and appreciate them making up for my lost time career-wise. Thank you CT and partners committed to correcting for lost time.
Thank you in advance, participating law schools and partners. There are many community members looking forward to proving that they are ready to move on with us to the next level! Not everyone, but it appears some are willing to work as a group.
No i don’t expect Anna to do the week law school challenge bc she knows we aren’t competing. Every other single person making a dime off of me will have to do that.
I loved contract law and hated torts in law school, haha. I think contract law is much more objective and certain. Just focus on the numbers, dates, and promises made, and it's all good. ☺
Another fact about this book is hat ther was so much profanity in it. I think the Hip Hop Movie "Juice" was in the same boat. I still remember reading the Book and Hart brilliantly answered a question pertaining to Mrs. Carlyle & The Smokeball Company and after he was acknowledged for getting the answer right, he was elated since his first day he wasn't prepared. As he left the Classroom after everyone else, he thought to himself "Jaysus Chr@st, this is a Gosh Darned Dance!" At first I didn't understand but it was all about who had the "best" moves and who could command the most attention on the floor but in Hart's case it was a Classroom.
I’m also curious why the democrats handling me in 2013 didn’t find my existence worth informing me about how I was being used. Seems not great. I have five degree. So much time wasted. Rather, they took advantage and profited. Reid my lip.

Really? To me it looks like a really boring, tepid take on the foolish, ineffectual nature of academia.
RIP John Houseman (September 22, 1902 - October 31, 1988), aged 86
You will always be remembered as a legend.
It's amazing how much law school is still the same. Every bit of this trailer rings true, minus the sleeping with a law professor's daughter...
😆 " Here's A Dime .. "
Before law school this movie scared me. After law school it makes me laugh.
#TBT Academy award-winner, John Houseman, stars in The Paper Chase.
Wish they would release this on blu ray
It is now

Appreciate the opportunity to see this through in New Haven the last two years. That is great.
That's the guy that said..."You earn it!"
Here after CJI D. Y. Chandrachud used this movie as a reference in his talk with David at Harvard Law School.
Veo estos vídeos y a mi memoria vuelven los recuerdos de estudio!
is either the movie or the tv series available in some of the streaming services? eg netflix, amazon prime, hbo go or another one?

When you realize you’ll be 50 years old this year.
Like the adorable Luci Christian.
You are a son of a- *everyone starts clapping
It actually doesn't happen that way. Those are two different scenes cut together for the trailer.
WE GET IT THE MOVIES NAME IS THE PAPER CHASE DONT GATTA KEEP SAYIN IT
That's the old style
+Orange Leader (of trailer making)
You know the name of the film. They did their job.

Loved this movie. Prepared me for my 1L.
Do you think it's a good movie to play to students?
@@dingwang1047absolutely
I have never seen this. I vaguely remember the tv series from my childhood. This looks good!
You should definitely watch it. It might be free on cable or you can get it for free on DVD from your library.
Sorry, can i ask what were the contract law cases discussed in this movie.?
What Kevin said about The Grades was so true. They do determine Salaries, Mortgages, Timeshares in the Caribbean, etc. I know Kevin's Father In Law must have been so disappointed in what happened to him.
The scene when Hart forgets to invite Kevin’s acquaintances to his party is heartbreaking.

Excellent show
Thx CT pros! This is where we are going. Let’s get down to business.
The only movie I have ever seen that feels totally relatable and abnormal at the same time.
Wooooow. I’m so glad I went to law school.

So good.
I wonder whether this used red or white laser audio?
Never used the white one, but I've heard it was a nuisance.
Did the Mets game bring you here? Keith Hernandez was talking about how great this movie is, I’m gonna watch it on the stick 🇺🇸
Really? Then Keith Hernandez has good taste in movies! Yes, definitely watch it. I have seen it at least six times, really great movie
1:49 The bionic woman...
On paper, the description of this movie sounds like a snore-fest; however, it's a very good movie that ALMOST makes you want to go to law school.
Correction, is IS a snore feat! We just finished watching it and could hardly stay awake!
Love those 1973 hairstyles
Yes, back when people head hair and everyone was skinny
Thank you in advance, participating law schools and partners. There are many community members looking forward to proving that they are ready to move on with us to the next level! Not everyone, but it appears some are willing to work as a group.
They understand the opportunity and have some decisions to make.
Thank you Kamala for helping to show what else I could have done this last decade. I’ll be moving on.

That was a moovie inspired me was a Lawyer thanks that gold moovie
Contract law is boring as hell and, by far, the most difficult class.
I loved contract law and hated torts in law school, haha. I think contract law is much more objective and certain. Just focus on the numbers, dates, and promises made, and it's all good. ☺
Moving forward with others who also know that education is the way out of poverty.
Few high profile prosecutions and real articles with details of what’s gone on will fix this.
Nevada lawyers and law students were wise to back out a decade or more ago.
Cute comparisons but my guess is a lot of them don't have law degrees
Mister Hart !
Education is the way forward.
Is this a 70s version of Whiplash?
pretty much... whiplash in law school. only this one has a happier tone with a much happier ending.
minus kevin attempting suicide.
Lindsay Wagner huh. She'll always be the Bionic woman to me. lol
When you leave here your mind will be a steel trap with the bloody hand of law inside it
