Hahaha, I played Eulalie Shinn in The Music Man once, and it's absolutely amazing to see that Molly Shannon, one of the funniest women alive, plays her in this movie xD
My teacher thought it was the greatest movie ever...*shuddering*...when we answered a question in class, she'd make us do that "Superstar" crap...boy, that brings back baaaad memories...
For a minute there I about to argue with you, and tell you that Albert Finney was Daddy Warbucks, when I realized that you were not talking about the Annie that I know and love.
What're you talking about, Victor Garber is a pro! Did you know he was the original Anthony in Sweeney Todd? And he played Daddy Warbucks in Disney's remake of Annie (before they were crap)! Victor Garber is an excellent actor and a good vocalist.
Did they say Tommy Jeelus? I thought it was Tommy Jeevus. I don't even know if I'm spelling that right. How the hell did that guy manage to survive the Titanic and become the mayor of River City Iowa?
This one follows the book so much better! Molly Shannon is a hilarious Mrs. Shinn. I would have to disagree and say that Mama Paroo is the most fun part-sweet and funny (but I'm partial ;)!
I don't know why this movie has so many likes. It's awful-- it does not hold a candle to the movie from 1962. MB's version of Prof. HH is so flat, rigid, lifeless, and expressionless. It just sounds like he had the script/movie memorized, and didn't bother putting anything of his own into the character. He's not even charismatic. Robert Preston was the best and perfect fit for that role, and no other actor can recreate what was already done perfectly.
I know! Ridiculously so that made you roll your eyes, right? Never actually saw that Superstar movie but it was popular when I was in the sixth grade--that was about 7 years ago, actually...odd
Hey i got an idea lets make a new better version of music man and then put freaking inspector gadget in the lead:(this could have been so good in my opinion everything is better EXCEPT FOR INSPECTOR GADGET vote up if you agree.
gingergamergirl98 By what criteria are you judging? Who cares. It sounded fine. I noticed Ethel is hot, and the carmel colored dress is super pretty. The costumes are one area that is actually better then the classic version.
@motownazn i can't even remember the clip :P sorry. it probably sounded like an arabic word to me...i'm arabic. and indian is not a dialect, it's a whole different language with a different accent :)
Most of the comments here are a few years old, I wouldn't be surprised as time passes that some would find the depiction here of American indians to be offensive, negatively stereotyped, cultural appropriation. Seeing how classics like West Side Story are picked apart and criticized these days, I would not be surprised.
@MissPopeyes22 @MissPopeyes22 you don't suppose that that has any real significance, do you? maybe the arabic dialect has an indirect relation to the "indian tongue"?
I keep getting this major feeling of deja vu...I think I've seen this before!! Like 4-5 years ago or something. Probably in music class, cause I hardly remember it...we never finished watching movies there
Like those nightmares where you walk into class naked and everybody starts laughing. But only when I had to do that-once because then I just stopped answering questions.

I don't think he paused enough when saying "Our fine player...piano....player...piano", or is that just me?
gingergamergirl98 By what criteria are you judging? Who cares. It sounded fine. I noticed Ethel is hot, and the carmel colored dress is super pretty. The costumes are one area that is actually better then the classic version.
Marina Doshkevich I don't know, it just didn't feel quite right. No need to get your panties in a bunch.
