You're the first reactor I've seen out of hundreds who thought to watch A Studio's original video. This was a tribute performance by A Studio/Dimash for their original and beloved late singer. The Monteverdi/goat trill is a tribal/Middle Eastern mourning/funereal expression. Their percussionist now works with Dimash, perhaps most visibly in his SOS digital video (the "triangle man").
I find your reaction and comments very educational. Since finding Dimash on TH-cam, I’ve learned so much about singing and the decisions made with the music accompaniment of Dimash’s singing. Thank you for your details around each performance of Dimash. He’s the only person I follow on TH-cam. He’s the best singer I’ve ever heard. I’m so happy to be alive to hear an amazing talent like Dimash.
Western music is constructed on the tone and half-tone. In the folkloric passages in this performance and in "Stranger," Dimash demonstrates his level of comfort and his skill with quarter-tone music, readily found in Middle-Eastern and Indian music. I'm sure other cultures are utilizing quarter-tone music, but those are the two with which I am most familiar.
Very interesting point! Quarter-tones are a tricky area because of tuning and the frequencies. Equal temperament has a very interesting history - here's an example of music from the 16th century making use of a 24-tone octave which I think is quite cool th-cam.com/video/0akGtDPVRxk/w-d-xo.html

Dimash’ performances can not be explained as simple ranges or techniques of the singing skill. His idea of performance in the message for the listeners, could be love, passion, peace…..and he uses his limitless arsenal of methods to deliver those messages. His aesthetics and skills of performance and a stage presence used for this purpose. It is why when people ask him how many octaves can he takes he is kind of surprised, because it is not what he wants listeners to get from his performances. Emotions are what he is looking for….❤

Really enjoyed thank you Re : the trill - when you eventually get to ‘The Story of One Sky’ you will hear some exceptional mastery of special singing effects from different areas of the world as Dimash does a vocalise section representing some of the world’s great religions. I recommend you watch the live concert video version rather than the official music video - : Almaty Concert / Part 3 from 25:35 mins. And the music is composed by Dimash.
I recommend seeing both the MV and the live versions. The live version strips away the visuals and storyline that demand more attention in the MV. The Story of One Sky is a masterpiece that took Dimash 3 years to complete.
10:05 unbelievable voice that seems to come from a different dimension with incredible ease. Humility is indeed a quality that comes with angelic voices. Thank you!!
I love watching people who actually know music reacting to this performance. You can literally see the brain glitching out because we get how insane this performance is! 😂 Great reaction, thank you for sharing.
My absolute top recommendation for you would be Ikanaide, from the Tokyo Jazz Festival. I feel like it's Dimash's grand-masterpiece. It's the most nuanced, intricate, emotion-inundated performance I've ever seen, of anything. A master-class in conveying emotion and telling a story in a language that not only do I not understand... but neither does he. The composer originally sang it himself, not trusting anyone else with the emotion. The title (said EE-kah-NAH-ee-DAY), which means "Please don't go," is sung many, many times, and every single one is meant to be with a different emotion and connotation, and the composer said that Dimash did it even better than he did.
Somewhere in the hundreds of comments you may already have learned that the guy in the white shirt at the end, starting the standing ovation, is Russian composer Igor Krutoy. He came out of retirement after this to work with Dimash, which is why we have Stranger, Ave Maria, Ogni PIetra, and all those other wonderful collaborations. I really like the cello and/or bassoon accompanying Dimash. Something about those sounds really compliment his voice. Great reaction==love the analysis!
Years ago a reactor referred to the high part we've just heard because of the darkness behind his voice she said it sounded like an angel singing at the end of the world and just love that
As a mucisian you really should watch "River of Love" Totally instrumental...Dimash on the Dombra, and his friend and the composer of this beautiful piece on the keyboard. Dimash plays several instruments. Infact, his very first award was for piano, when he was 6. Then for a composition of his own, You will see why Dimash has a Master's Degree in Composition, watch "El Amor en Ti". Dimash composed this song for his Spanish speaking Dears. I am enjoying watching you discover Dimash.
Very much enjoyed your comments. I'm not a musician and don't know these things, so it's lovely to hear you focus narrowly and explain so clearly. Seeing the piano instead of just hearing you say the names of the notes is very helpful. Thank you. Liked/subscribed.
My underinformed opinion: he transitions from a yodel to a bleat as he increases the frequency of his glottal stops. I've listened to this passage hundreds of times. Insane control. I am enjoying your analysis very much!
The guy standing up in the white shirt at the end is Igor Krutoy, the millionaire Russian composer, who came out of retirement to compose for Dimash on the strength of this performance. ❤
Yes, the precision of that crazy long complex run at the end... { Had everyone on the edge of their seats - shouting at their screens; " Breath Man! BREATH!!!" 🤣 } I believe this was the first Dimash performance that Igor Krutoy saw and immediately during /after decided to compose for this unique voice. He has written new works and rearranged older works, both his own compositions and a number of others in collaboration with Dimash. Dimash's voice and precision techniques are always impressive, but what I REALLY Enjoy is watching so many people from so many extremely DIVERSE cultures, ethnicities, backgrounds, age groups, and genre preferences etc.- sit up and 'react'. Aside from the regular jaw-drops, the comment I hear so often is; " I didn't know I'd like THIS kind of music!" Dimash clearly has a number of motivations driving his creative choices, not the least of which are his anti-war and humanitarian messages, but his original goal of bringing classical / contemporay cross-over music 'to the masses' I think is really having 'cut-through'. 😅😊
Dimash is so creative with those modulations! I think I’ve heard him hold a note, full voice, for at least 22 seconds if not more! Amazing vocal talent!
Thank you for explaining how extraordinary Dimash is in the technique he sings, it helps for those of us who don't understand vocal music technique, it's something extraordinarily great. I hope you can react to Dimash again with other songs, you can check Dimash's appearance at The Singer 2017 _ Opera 2, Adagio, Confesa+ Diva Dance, All by Myself etc, and many others... thanks for reaction Bro... Greeting from Indonesian Dears ❤️ DIMASH QUDAIBERGEN 🔥🤟😎
Dimash comes also with Diana Ankudinova in the package. 😂 Please listen Rechenka. After the contest where she sang Rechenka Igor Krutoy brought her in Moscow with her mother in order to have her close. She was 14 years of age. So, Diana is a pupil of Igor. He can not retire with such talents around him, not only Dimash.
I think you should check out Dimash singing Ikanaide 20th JapaneseJazz Festival. Beautiful soft song. It's hi.e recording g in studio.video is from 2 yrs ago.
Dimash is committed to giving the audience in front of him a spectacle. He is very aware and appreciative of the fact that fans have gone to the trouble to be there. It's always the audience first with Dimash.
Hi, my compliments, you are an expert and great reactor, I always look forward to your insightful and intelligent comments. Love Teresa from Genoa-ITALY
I really appreciate your reaction videos because you provide the technical descriptions that help give us non-vocalists the song structure, the vocal techniques and a greater appreciation for the performance. Thank You🎉🎉🎉
The one who plays the piano Baigali Serkebayev wrote the music "Sinful Passion". Dimash performed this song in memory of B.Shukenov, the soloist of the A studio group. Please Next : "The Story of One Sky" Music Video 12 minutes.
I love your Dimash reactions!! Please, if you ever react to "The story of one sky" by Dimash (his most important work so far), as a fellow music and voice analyst, I recommend reacting to the live version first, from the Almaty concert. There was a fancam version, but now there is a quality version of that part of the concert and it's incredible. If you react to the official video first, the cinematic (which is amazing) will distract all your attention from the astonishing vocal work that Dimash does in this song, and most of the surprises that his voice brings go unnoticed. So, I highly recommend to react to "The story of one sky" live concert version first, and then the official video with all that cinematic visuals.
I agree! This is real masterpiece! Just you don´t dare to watch it every day - already too much pain in our world because of crazy leaders who are immune to human suffering...
Thanks for the recommendation! As someone who naturally is drawn to the musical aspect of something over every other aspect, I don't think cinematic visuals would overpower the musical side of things, but I've made a note in my list for Story Of One Sky to potentially check out the live version first 👍
I believe on rare occasions Angels lend their voices to mortals that they may remind us of heavenly perfections. Like Whitney Houston, the glorious loan is fleeting.
I know I've suggested watching Igor's original composition for Dimash of: Stranger, but his performance of Diva Dance (there are three version's - the best one is live in concert) It is so utterly remarkable that I (again) had to go back and watch the original computerized song from the fifth element (impo Dimash does it better) I'm envious that I've already heard all these but get great joy watching professionals see and analyze Dimash. TY again!

Thanks so much! Glad you enjoyed
React to Dimash "AVE MARIA"
My underinformed opinion: he transitions from a yodel to a bleat as he increases the frequency of his glottal stops. I've listened to this passage hundreds of times.
Insane control.
I am enjoying your analysis very much!
Another great analysis that reveals more of the technical side.
😊
The guy standing up in the white shirt at the end is Igor Krutoy, the millionaire Russian composer, who came out of retirement to compose for Dimash on the strength of this performance. ❤
So cool isn't it! I put this in my pinned comment
❤❤❤
All the videos on his channel have English subtitles and many other languages.
But they are the most problematic for copyright
Dimash is so creative with those modulations! I think I’ve heard him hold a note, full voice, for at least 22 seconds if not more! Amazing vocal talent!
I've heard this song so many times and only now did I learn that it's a cover!
I can listen to his voice everyday...Im in love
Thank you for explaining how extraordinary Dimash is in the technique he sings, it helps for those of us who don't understand vocal music technique, it's something extraordinarily great. I hope you can react to Dimash again with other songs, you can check Dimash's appearance at The Singer 2017 _ Opera 2, Adagio, Confesa+ Diva Dance, All by Myself etc, and many others... thanks for reaction Bro... Greeting from Indonesian Dears ❤️
DIMASH QUDAIBERGEN 🔥🤟😎
🙏
Bravo maestro Dimash ❤❤❤
That's when Igor Krutoy first heard Dimash, the man gaving him standing ovation. I'm here for more Dimash❤
Dimash is very respectful of the original artists without losing his ability and desire to melodically adapt for his personality. Cheers from Canada!
Thank you so much for your lucid and well researched analysis. Great work on your part to explore our dear Dimash
I appreciate it, thanks
Sir Hailess, when can we see your detailed observation on Dimash's "Diva Song"?
It’s on my list! So hopefully fairly soon 😊
Yes, remember concert in the rain?
Dimash el👑🎶🎤 . Stranger , Across Endless Dimensions , Unforgetatble day (festival de gakku ) . Todos los días una dosis de Dimash es esencial 🤩 .
Adagio ❤
This performance was a tribute to the guitarist in the band who passed, he was so humble in his speech at the end.
Dimash❤ es fantástico y único en su estilo musical 🎤
I love your reactions to Dimash. Greetings from Brazil 🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷
Thank you to you in Brazil!
Hi, my compliments, you are an expert and great reactor, I always look forward to your insightful and intelligent comments.
Love
Teresa from Genoa-ITALY
Grazie!
Невероватни Димаш ! ❤❤❤❤❤
As always great reaction. Please do Stranger new wave performance next.
I adore Sinful Passion by Dimash! It's very cinema-like, dramatic in a good way. This arrangement suits very well Dimash's voice show-offs❤
I really appreciate your reaction videos because you provide the technical descriptions that help give us non-vocalists the song structure, the vocal techniques and a greater appreciation for the performance. Thank You🎉🎉🎉
Thanks!
...... there's nothing much that compares with a 22 second vocal run on one breath.
*If you think those are high notes, even with the other 2 videos you did, you have not heard anything yet*
Sir Hairless, how incredibly knowledgeable you are! Such brilliant, profound analysis! Wow! BRAVO for you! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Thank you so much!
Большое спасибо. Интересная реакция. За фортепьяно автор и создатель этой песни.
The one who plays the piano Baigali Serkebayev wrote the music "Sinful Passion".
Dimash performed this song in memory of B.Shukenov, the soloist of the A studio group.
Please Next : "The Story of One Sky" Music Video 12 minutes.
Good reactions.. please play the live concert the story if one sky Almaty
As someone who naturally is drawn to the musical aspect of something over every other aspect, I don't think cinematic visuals would overpower the musical side of things, but I've made a note in my list for Story Of One Sky to potentially check out the live version first 👍
Ну и комментарии выше всяких, так сказать, снимаю шляпу
I believe on rare occasions Angels lend their voices to mortals that they may remind us of heavenly perfections. Like Whitney Houston, the glorious loan is fleeting.
Igor wrote a new Ave Maria for him that will be a great listen.
This is on my list! Hoping to get it done this year
Hello,
Thank you Sir Hairless!
Thank you for showcasing Dimash!😍👍🌹💐❤️🇨🇦
😀
I know I've suggested watching Igor's original composition for Dimash of: Stranger, but his performance of Diva Dance (there are three version's - the best one is live in concert) It is so utterly remarkable that I (again) had to go back and watch the original computerized song from the fifth element (impo Dimash does it better) I'm envious that I've already heard all these but get great joy watching professionals see and analyze Dimash. TY again!
Hey again, thanks! Diva Dance is also on my list so will be getting round to it! 🎶
Спасибо за реакцию на космического Димаша 😍👍👍👍💯👑🎤💥👏👏👏💕💓
🙏
He will surprise you every time!😂🤩👍❤️🇨🇦
Great reaction! Thank you! Love your analysis and explanations! I am learning from you. 🙏❤️
Appreciate you!
I can't help but rewatch that run at the end, it's just so fun
En este evento fue donde Igor conocio a Dimash y su talento, razon por la que decidio abandonar su retiro de la musica, creando una dupla excepcional
Thank you for the technical highlights. It's nice to learn new things from you
Pleasure is mine 👌🏽
You are the first person I have followed from Pentatonix to other artists as I find your breakdown of the artist and music extraordinary ❤ and I like the obvious enjoyment you feel listening to the songs, you must be an extremely talented musician yourself to be able to break down the songs the way you do, thank you 🙂
but please do keep doing Pentatonix reactions x
Thanks so much! Don't worry - I plan on continuing with PTX 👍
By the way please go listen to him singing "Unforgettable Days" which is done in Gakku.
Thank you again for reacting to Dimash ❤️ As you can see, the amount of views and comments is amazing!!!! Yep 😊 we love our Dimash ❤️❤️❤️ Great reaction and will be watching you again soon !
Браво!!! А тот мужчина в белой рубашке, который стоя опладировал в конце произведения, и есть композитор Игорь Крутой. Вы его упомянули во втором видео.
Thanks! Yes, I also mentioned it in my pinned comment 👍I didn't include that part in the video
Love your reactions to Dimash - intelligent, pointing to all the intricacies, and fun to watch. Thank you! One of my favorite songs by Dimash is "Stranger". Little theatrical but still great and shows his lower registers. Will you consider analyzing it?
Thank you! Yes, Stranger is on my list so expect it some time in the near future!
Another fascinating reaction Sir. 👏
Appreciate it, thanks!
Thank you for your insightfulness on the choices on how and why he sang this song, his way.
🙏
