To wined up a motor to 10,000 rpms is amazing and to hold together incredible love the sound of it . Drifting is a hell of a sport . Thanks for replying to my questions Kelvin I appreciate it like watching your channel very educational and interesting take care out there my friend with this Corona virus and all .
@@CartuneNZ yep, pretty little penny but your right its worth it, its my number 1 engine id love to build if i ever win lotto or come into alot of cash somehow. Dont see alot of people moding them in a big way for big hp, would love to see what they can make, like see 1500hp+ 1uzs, id like to think these could push 2000hp pretty reliably if built correctky. 1uz blocks seen to start to fail around 1500hp mark, mostly split where main studs bottom out, between there and cylinder liner as its pretty much the thinnest part of the blocks
i wonder if Hartley will be able to bore out 1gzfe to maybe 5.5l+ and make it get 600 hp or atleast close to it. Just imagine a v12 9000 rpm with toyota reliability ready for engine swaps!
I'm about to start building one of these that are in my IS200 (in Aus). Are there any kits available for destroking it? I want to rev it to the moon and keep it NA. Would love to work with you guys
Did you ever find a place to get parts for it? Doing an engine swap and using this engine, same thing I want to keep it NA and I’m shooting for 9k-10k rpm if possible
Ive not deleted anything deliberately. Sometimes replies get flagged by youtube and I dont get time to check them all and youtube removes them. Nothing deliberate by me sorry.
They have light rods so as soon as the power and torque levels come up they are a bit fragile. Personally before trying to make more power I'd improve the internals. There are a few turbo ones around with stock internals, but a few id those have already had second or third motors fitted.
Often these guys are only running at 130 to 200km/h so not really very fast, but the idea is to have the tyres smoking while doing this speed and still have car control.
Nope. They are located here in New Zealand. They do quite a few high end engines over here and one of their sons (Brendon) competes in motorsport on the international scene. Cheers Kelvin
*_V12 Toyota engines are so rare. love that sick build!_*
It is very cool. Cheers Kelvin
Prince Ecstar a dream engine for sure.
@Prince Ecstar making me jelous...
10k+ of them were made
I hope more people do builds with these motors so the aftermarket expands :)
Just buy 1jz parts it's pretty much just 2 1jz engines lol
Gotta love the kiwis, y'all do builds that we never see in North America.
We do some pretty cool stuff for sure. Cheers Kelvin
Tryna drop a 1gz in my ls400
Very cool
Nelson Hartley is a national treasure.

Hello Bryan. This engine is quite amazing. sounds very cool. I would have liked more time to talk with the guy. Cheers Kelvin
I miss the N/A scream it used to have. Was the best sounding engine ive ever heard.
It did sound awesome. Cheers Kelvin
Wow! That's awesome!
It certainly is. Cheers Kelvin
OMG THIS IS THE BEST 😁😁 Need at more builds like this please💪💪👏🏼🙌🏼👍👍👌👌🔥🔥🔥
will try. Cheers Kelvin
Nice!! Always wanted one to build like that, but money becomes pretty scarce pretty quick as soon as start looking at moding them
I can only imagine what the bill for this build was. Totally worth it though. Sounds awesome and then some. Cheers Kelvin

This engine was an n/a package making 700hp at 10000rom without boring. Then they turboed it.
@@CartuneNZ it made 700hp NA?? Seriously!?
@@MythixMusic1 yep, we have 4 litre v8 in a restricted class making 575hp N/a too.
Egads
10k revs
Awesome
Sure is awesome.

Everything is custom as fair as I know.
Did you ever find a place to get parts for it? Doing an engine swap and using this engine, same thing I want to keep it NA and I’m shooting for 9k-10k rpm if possible
Parts are easy to get here in NZ. We have a specialized engine builder doing them. Nelson from the video.
@@CartuneNZ pretty weird that you deleted my response

How much power can one of these make with stock internals? What is the major flaw to watch out for with these?
They have light rods so as soon as the power and torque levels come up they are a bit fragile. Personally before trying to make more power I'd improve the internals. There are a few turbo ones around with stock internals, but a few id those have already had second or third motors fitted.
@@CartuneNZ ah, alright. I would have expected the v12 to have the same rods as the 1JZ stock, but I guess not?
Please excuse my ignorance, what is the year, model of that car?
The engine is a Toyota v12 from a Toyota century but its now modified and fitted into a nissan Silvia S14. Hope that helps. Cheers Kelvin
@@CartuneNZ get some slicks on this MONSTER and let's see just how insane the acceleration could be .
Is this still a 5L? Or has it been stroked, or destroked?
Sorry Im not sure on this. Ill try to remember if I see the engine builder again. Cheers Kelvin
So these guys race with their wheels going really fast and the car going slow!?
Often these guys are only running at 130 to 200km/h so not really very fast, but the idea is to have the tyres smoking while doing this speed and still have car control.
How does one get one of their motors
They contact them and have their name added to the list. Cheers Kelvin
Is Hartley in America?
I though I read about that name building v8’s from motorcycle engines?
Nope. They are located here in New Zealand. They do quite a few high end engines over here and one of their sons (Brendon) competes in motorsport on the international scene. Cheers Kelvin
In pretty sure thats a different company, this ones the better one though
Wow...what a beast...so...i have a 1gz v12 waiting to be upgraded...how i would love to get some bitz from hartley to S.A.......
Spendy...
These things are a beast when sorted correctly. Hartleys do some amazing work. Cheers Kelvin
have at least $50,000 ready
Shove it in my 93 LS400 please and thank you very much LOL
I like that thinking although an SC400 might be easier fit. Cheers Kelvin
All this amazing engineering just for stupid drifting. What a waste
oh i thought it was in an actual car and not a kids "racing" car..
Ok. Not a road car but race cars are actual cars to me. Sounds awesome. Cheers Kelvin
