Made my first one this afternoon. Used double knitting and a 3.5mm hook. I decided to sew the squares together rather than hunt out my glue gun. I always make a mess with that, including on me! Rather than pompom's, unless I can find any in town on Tuesday, if I remember to look that is, I am going to add some other little bead ornaments. :)
Beads work great! Someone sent me a photo where they added those little metal jingle bells instead of the pompoms, which I thought was a good idea too!
I ended up using some snowflake sequins with a bead in the middle to hold it down. Made a start on another one this afternoon, this one might have the teeny jingle bells on them. Not a clue where I bought either the snowflakes or the bells from, just something I had left over for my cross stitched ornaments. Did I just happen to mention I love Christmas!!! 🎄😘 💝
Exactly! Either make more squares that have more rounds on them (like add a larger 4th and even larger 5th granny square). Or start off the smallest granny square with more rounds on it, and then have the 2nd and 3rd with even more rounds on them.
