I was the same as you, knew what would happen to john, but i didn't know when. Thought it was my last ride with him in the game and felt sad, didn't even sprint with the horse when i was close to home.
For years i wanted to play rdr again, regain my 10 yo experience. I never really had interest on the normal story mode and always played undead nightmare. But after playing many history telling games, i played normal mode last week. I really wanted to play it blindly, but i already knew what happened in the end due to many STUPID folks that doesn't know not to spread endings and stuff on the internet. I didn't felt anything, just frustration for already knowing the end and losing my chance of a real feeling. But this music is something i never saw any spoilers of, and adding the mission "head home to see your family", just made me feel something. I felt so much hate towards the army and i think part of it is because of this music. Thanks for making my childhood, my virtual broomstick scarfaced cowboy.

I just got to this part earlier tonight. I accidentally got off my horse and i heard a song starting to play but get cut off. I reloaded the save and did the entire mission again just to hear this lol
when this song started playing the legendary bear from the final master hunter challenge showed up and i killed him and the song stopped playing, so I went and killed all the other legendary animals, got the legend of the west outfit (master hunter was my last challenge anyway), returned to the spot where the bear attacked me and made my way back to beechers hope with this video playing on the background… god i hate and absolutely love this game
the most tragic part is after all arthur and john did so that jack could have a normal life, after his father died it lead him down the same path as them, an outlaw.
I've just finished the game for the umpteenth time, this time with the remastered PC version. I've been playing it for 10 fucking years, about every 2 years, because it's very rare to find such an experience in a video game these days, and every 2 years I've been crying about this game. Red Dead Redemption 2 was no different, exceptional. I can't thank Rockstar enough for giving us such an unforgettable videogame experience. And damn that music, this uncontrollable goosebumps....

I agree with binary star 21s common but honestly, it’s bury me not because I grew up playing this game on the Xbox 360, but that you know before I actually finish the game at like two years ago. I was only like five playing this game so when I finally finished the game, it honestly just broke my heart there was multiple tears at the end.

Mastering and changing each frequency dynamic. micromanaging and perfecting it for the live show. Light show. With lights dimming and showcasing each player and their groups. stuff like that.
when this song started playing, was when everything this game does finally hit home. all the killing, all of bad stuff i had to do. it was all worth it for this. family, i might just be a woman but even i can relate to the despration how far i would go to protect the woman i love. i thought back to my own life, the woman Im married to and i realize how wrong i was for hating john when i played this game as a teen who admittly was way too young to be playing this game.
