It's not technically hijacking. Law Enforcement can commandeer (To official and legally take of and/or control of) something from you should they find it of need. This is why you hear the mantra "I'm going to need your vehicle", or similar in most cop movies, or alike. Sure, it is for the humor, but it's accurate and can be done. That is of course, if it is within reason. However, other laws' trump this, making sure that you abide, otherwise you would be aiding and abetting; complicity.
