The other thing is most people who do put hot water in dont have just pure hot water (like grace haha) but might put cold milk even if they do have just hot water theyd be opening it to drink it often so when bottles say will last 24hrs hot or cold i cant help but think they mean if you seal it completely and dont open it til 24hrs is up and see the true temperature. VS it actually being used and opened every 15 minutes and drinking a mouthful and closing it again then when theres a mouthful left seeing what the temperature is and then sealing that and opening it the same time as the closed for 24hr or 12hr without opening one of the same bottles and measure the difference. Like you said about the temperature like more water will stay warmer for longer so its be interesting to see how warm the mouthful would stay when its in a mostly empty bottle.
I get that. However the Chillies (chillys?) was the smallest and still kept hotter than the swell. We cant really go on about the 'what ifs', because this was just a test on the bottles as they are. But yes, it is do with the volume of water, however it also to do with how they are made, clearly the chillies/chillys as been made to be more insulated than a swell considering it kept hotter for longer despite it having a smaller volume.

Jeanne Anstyadi i saw one in wilkinson’s for 5 pounds and it looks like that bottle in the corner of 3:59 but it comes in pastel pink and blue and u think a couple patterns
Slight confounding variable with your experiment Grace, due to the different volumes of water they’re going to cool/warm up quicker due to different surface area to volume ratios. For example the hydro flask has a much higher volume compared to surface area than the chilly’s bottle which is likely why it preformed well in the hot water test despite no claims to maintain heat so well. Lil bit of science for your Friday night!
Chilly's is my favourite. I've had mine for years and it's still the best thing, honestly one of my smartest purchases. They have lots of accessories for the bottles as well, including a cleaning brush.

i think it depends from person to person. for example, chloe is a teacher, so she's mostly in a classroom, she'll just have her bottle on her desk, and doesn't really need it on the go. so if you're someone that has a more stationary job, that chilly one seems to be good for you. if your job has more moving around, i'd recommend one with a straw like the one grace has(the contigo). i work in quality control in a factory, and i end up walking around a lot from one side to the other, so i have a similar one to grace's but smaller, the straw makes it easier to drink while walking and it has that little handle that makes it easy to just carry around without having to hold the bottle itself
@@Ray_Vun thank you so much for the comprehensive advice. I am on the go a lot and would be carrying in a rucksack so reckon the one with the straw and handle would be best for me!!
@@harmonyhope1709 also make sure to take temperature into consideration. the clear plastic ones like the one and grace have don't keep the liquid's temperature, cold things will go warm after a while and hot things will go cold quickly as well. one thing i've witness with mine is that whenever i put really cold water in it, it'll transpire, so the outside gets this lawyer of wetness that'll make anything it touches wet. so if you carry it around in your bag, it'll make everything in it wet as well as your bag. but you'll be fine if you just drink water that's more room temperature. but if you like your water cold, you might need to look into a straw one that's more impermeable. that klean kantin one seemed like a good contender, but apparently doesn't keep the temperature very well, unfortunately
If you don't care about keeping drinks hot (I only drink water from my bottle on the go), doppers are the way to go! they're great and very easy to clean because you can take the cap of in 2 different ways. they also come in a lot of designs and aren't that expensive

I’ve had my doper bottle for two years now and it’s still my favourite. I have both of them for different uses and I love the idea of donating and that you screw the top into a cup and so on 👍🏻
Steph Ip ok, interesting, thank you for informing me. I actually do have a small brush that I brush the lip of my bottle with and sometimes I will brush the whole bottle but I only really do that once a week since I’m the only one drinking the water of that bottle.
9:03 Bare in mind the hydro flask keeps like 3 times the amount of liquid as the chilli's bottle so it will keep warmer the longest so I think chilis bottle should have won
I've been using a swell bottle for years and have always loved it, but I have considered switching to a hydroflask for a couple different reasons. cleaning the swell can be a little bit of a chore if you have the larger size because not all bottle brushes are long enough to reach properly, and because of the size of the opening it's not the easiest bottle to put ice into unless you use crushed ice. honestly tho, most insulated vacuum seal bottles are pretty much created equal, so you can go wrong with that type in whichever shape you prefer.
I'm a big fan of the dopper bottles, I have 3 and I love every single one of them. Not to forget that most of them are dishwasher safe!! And who doesn't love a company that donates parts of their profits!.
I love contigo and the hydroflask only because I know I’ll drink a lot of water and it’ll last me more time but they definitely each have their own purpose
I have a simple modern one I ordered from Amazon. It is pretty much the same as hydroflask but half the price and it has the option to change the caps for ones with straws.
My favorite waterbottles are the Takeya ones - they have a lid you can take off to fill but a separate opening for drinking so the it’s harder to spill when moving - it can hold hot (12 hours) and cold (24 hours) - they’re pretty similar id say to hydroflasks but cheaper - they also have a lot of color options and sizes too
As a fellow water bottle enthusiast, I have to say my favourite bottle is the Gatorade contoured squeeze bottle. I’m not someone who absolutely needs to keep their water cold, and I also don’t enjoy drinking from stainless steel, so the plastic tip is great. I’ve never had a problem where it leaked, as you have to squeeze or suck for any water to come out. It also hold a liter of water so it works great if you drink a lot during the day. To add, I find it’s really fun to drink out of. I do love my Brita straw bottle. It’s basically the same design as the contigo bottles just with a filter in it. Works great for travel because you can fill it up with almost any water but wouldn’t recommend on planes because of the air pressure. Lastly if I do want to keep something warm I use the contigo travel mugs. I’ve never done testing but they keep liquids warm for at least a few hours. Plus they have the spill proof mechanism. Love love love this video!!!
A big part of the hydro flasks is that they come in a very large Variety of designs, and sizes, and like you said different tops. I really enjoy the smaller ones because they are easier to drink out of and still do everything the big ones do!
This is legit the first TH-cam comment I have ever posted. But I felt the need to add that I would totally claim a bottle you drank out of Grace...and washed first, obviously lol
The packaging for the Klean Kanteen reminds me of the Asda smartprice design, I was hoping it was an amazing really cheap bottle I could go to Asda and get 💔
So I've spent years buying and using every kind of bottle there is out there and when I finally bit the bullet and bought the expensive hydroflask, I finally found my winner. It meets all my requirements: easy to clean, wide enough to put ice, has lid options (straw lid is my fave) it's big enough AND It keeps things cold for way longer than 24 hours. I put ice water in that thing and left it for 2 days, went to empty it and found ice still in it. It's the best IMO.
I have used a contigo for ages but a version without a straw and would love one with a straw so that’s my favourite, I love that uou have to press the button for it to open so never leaks and you can lock it xx
You could test the most mundane of things and I’d still watch. This was so helpful, I dislike trying to find a decent water bottle and you’ve done it for us lol.
I have the 0.5 & the 1 litre 24 bottle and it is honestly incredible. It is so lightweight that eventough the 1l bottle takes up a lot of space I will take it with me anywhere because I can easily refill it once I am somewhere, I can drink as much as I need/want and once I‘m done it‘s the lightest thing in my bag. Furthermore, cold water is incredibly refreshing from this aluminum bottle. And they also have special bottles that are made for keeping your liquids hot. I am so in love with those bottles and way too excited 😂
There is actually a klean kanteen bottle that keeps your drink warm for a really long time and you can buy different cap attachment thingies for their bottles, just like a hydro flask
I was in a lecture once and I looked around the hall and I saw every single color Dopper that exists. I think about 90 percent of the people in my class own a Dopper 😂.
Your sisters bottle probably doesn’t tast of stainless steel since it’s been used more. My 24 bottle stopped tasting like metal really quickly. I used to use a Dopper but vastly prefer the 24. I have the slightly textured 24 and it feels so nice to hold. The size of the spout is easier to drink from and you get used to the thicker lip really quickly too. The Doppers plastic starts to look grimy and one drop and the lip on the bottle’s top is broken since they use less durable but more eco friendly plastic. I also have a contigo which I love and lives next to my bed. I’ll take it in the car because it is so easy to drink from one handed and keeping eyes on the road. But it’s too heavy to bring to work on the train and scratched up from years of use.
you missed a key thing: DOES IT SPILL/LEAK

Yasmin Howarth that’s not really hygienic though - the bacteria in water bottles can’t be removed unless you physically scrub it
Steph Ip ok, interesting, thank you for informing me. I actually do have a small brush that I brush the lip of my bottle with and sometimes I will brush the whole bottle but I only really do that once a week since I’m the only one drinking the water of that bottle.
Yasmin Howarth oh thank goodness!! I tried only shaking during summer camp and one week into camp my water didn’t even taste like water anymore
You should design a bottle!!! I would definitely buy it!!!
9:03 Bare in mind the hydro flask keeps like 3 times the amount of liquid as the chilli's bottle so it will keep warmer the longest so I think chilis bottle should have won
The little “sksksks” had me cry laughing
I've been using a swell bottle for years and have always loved it, but I have considered switching to a hydroflask for a couple different reasons. cleaning the swell can be a little bit of a chore if you have the larger size because not all bottle brushes are long enough to reach properly, and because of the size of the opening it's not the easiest bottle to put ice into unless you use crushed ice.
honestly tho, most insulated vacuum seal bottles are pretty much created equal, so you can go wrong with that type in whichever shape you prefer.
I don’t think it is unhygienic, as long as it’s clean!
A youtuber that makes a video about water bottles interesting really deserves recognising!!!
I’m sitting on my kitchen floor at 3 am eating salami and watching grackle, my life is complete
what timezone you in?
Sitting in my bed at 1am eating a slice of cheese 😂
9:48 pm.. gonna pull an all nighter’
I got a TAL as a gift and I love it. It was a bit of a transition for me but it's wide and easy to clean.
Contigo actually has a lot of different types, including one with a flip up spout thing (with no straw.)
I have a simple modern one I ordered from Amazon. It is pretty much the same as hydroflask but half the price and it has the option to change the caps for ones with straws.
The running bottle reminds me of a hamster /rabbit drinking bottle 😂🙈
My favorite waterbottles are the Takeya ones
- they have a lid you can take off to fill but a separate opening for drinking so the it’s harder to spill when moving
- it can hold hot (12 hours) and cold (24 hours)
- they’re pretty similar id say to hydroflasks but cheaper
- they also have a lot of color options and sizes too
this was just a good thought out and researched video
THIS IS ACTUALLY AMAZINGGGGG!!!!! 😍😍 I LOVE BOTTLES LOL AND THIS IS SUCH A GOOD IDEAAAA 💓💓💓💓
A woman on a mission!! Love this!! 💪💪💪
i’m kinda sad that the water bottle I use, Takeya, wasn’t in that list since it’s kinda popular where I live 😞 but this video was great nonetheless!
Just got a hydro flask. I LOVE it!
The packaging for the Klean Kanteen reminds me of the Asda smartprice design, I was hoping it was an amazing really cheap bottle I could go to Asda and get 💔
Fun fact: if you don't like the lid on the clean canteen you can get different lids on it
now THIS is the content I signed up for
So I've spent years buying and using every kind of bottle there is out there and when I finally bit the bullet and bought the expensive hydroflask, I finally found my winner.
I have had Chillys for years, they're the best and last!
yesssss
I have used a contigo for ages but a version without a straw and would love one with a straw so that’s my favourite, I love that uou have to press the button for it to open so never leaks and you can lock it xx
Haha never knew I needed this video 😂
I stan chillys all the way 👏🏻
THE TOPIC QUALITY CONTENT I NEVER KNEW I NEEDED TO SEE
Hydroflask is the winner at a cold test too. i put ice in mine at like 7pm and the next morning at 9am there was still ice.
Feel like the addition of the megaphone brings your channel to a new level I didn’t know I needed
The fact none of them are sistema offends me.
You could test the most mundane of things and I’d still watch. This was so helpful, I dislike trying to find a decent water bottle and you’ve done it for us lol.
I love my Sigg Star bottle. But won’t be for everyone
My friend had that lasted so well she was a climber and took it up walls never smashed I tapped it over and it completely smashed 😂
Random Ruby Days I’ve dropped mine a couple of times and got away with it. Only a matter of time though.
Chillies are the BEST, i will never ever go back ever again
There is actually a klean kanteen bottle that keeps your drink warm for a really long time and you can buy different cap attachment thingies for their bottles, just like a hydro flask
I was in a lecture once and I looked around the hall and I saw every single color Dopper that exists. I think about 90 percent of the people in my class own a Dopper 😂.
I like the Dopper - The fact that you can turn it into a goblet is genius!
But you've compared insulated and non-insulated bottles so not a fair test with the heat? 😰
With the heat she only used the bottle's that advertised insulating properties
@@anlihaywood7448 the bottles that were too hot to pick up were not insulated.
So glad number one was how easy it is to clean, because that's exactly how I judge a water bottle!
I’ll have the hydroflask, I need a new bottle 😂😝
Then there’s me...using a free water bottle from a university open day 😅 (I really like it though)
Nerielle Oberio is it plastic ?
Is it BPA free?
Charlotte Douglas yes
MidnightzRoses yes it is
Nerielle Oberio Yesss BPA free for the win
You’re the best xx
In my opinion if you want your bottle to last, avoid plastic.
I personally have a 24 bottles and I love it!
