I've noticed in India you have to be very confident walking along alleyways where motorbikes go and all of that. If you're not you'd always be stepping out of the way for traffic/not passing people and never end up getting to your destination! Thanks for another amazing video from beautiful India!!
See all the touristy, pilgrimage places are like this and the foreigners who come to India will always go to these places and no where else. Even a normal Indian like me will have withdrawal symptoms staying on touristy places after a couple of days after visiting the temple and we will be looking forward to come back. Happy to see you in India again! I miss Varanasi such a unique place, even for India. I still remember walking that road for the very first time with my Mom and Aunt. Seeing those winding paths through the market towards the ghats was so wonderful. I know the exchange rate is favorable, I use Radius bank account and it's worth doing if you're staying in India long-term as I get atm fees refunded. Looking forward to going back and doing a street food tour in Varanasi as there is such special stuff! Good luck on your trip

Don't underestimate the heat and pollution in places like this. You can suffer a stroke, heart attack, fainting falling down and hurt yourself etc. Not to mention the toxic effects of the pollution in the air, Varanasi has very high levels. One should wear a n95 mask as much as possible to protect your lungs.
We do live in this "heat and pollution" and never get heart attack Varanasi is far better than westerners concrete jungles don't act foolish it's not what you think
@@rockyyyy225 Pollution indices in Varanasi have only got worse with time. Though in that year the city reported seven days of good air quality, as compared to zero in 2015. And the effects of the air crisis have been disastrous. One of the most alarming research shared by the Energy Policy Institute at the University of Chicago (EPIC) in 2019 was that people residing in IGP are losing 7.5 years due to air pollution. The study noted that pollution levels have increased by 72% from 1998 to 2016. Shockingly, as per the State of Global Air 2020 report, around 1.6 lakh infants died within the first year of their birth in 2019 in India. The report stated that these deaths were caused due to PM 2.5 in outdoors as well as indoor due to burning of solid fuel (like wood, animal dung, charcoal etc.). Hi Gabriel, Very Interesting capture of the streets of Varanasi you get an idea of what life is really like in India. You get a chance to capture the emotions of the many people who travel in and around the cities and you seem to run into people who want to stop and talk for a few minutes a very curious place. The hot muggy weather is a major challenge wherever you go it is physically draining on the body you have to take extra measures to take care of yourself in that kind of weather.
Why have you not visited Amritsar and Golden temple yet? You have been to India 11 times and seem to be doing the same places again and again. You will be allowed inside the Golden temple where you can enjoy delicious langar( free temple food) . Chandigarh is a beautiful place that needs a visit too.
best time to visit Varanasi is b/w October to March. Also Varanasi is known for many consecrated spaces as many enlightened beings across India has left their body. One powerful energy vibe one can witness after Mangla and Sapta rishi Arti inside the Sanctum sanctorum of main Kashi Vishwanath temple. The arti happens at 3:45 AM in the morning and 7:30 PM in the evening respectively

I do not know how anyone can sleep at night, let alone converse during the days, due to the constant din and cacophony in India! I guess leaning on one's horn is a right of passage and past-time, huh? It just occurred to me that all the narrow streets, alleyways and detours, are NOT the place for anyone who has a poor sense of direction.
Soooo Happy Gabe that you are finally back east in Asia! Now I can watch each video & can't wait for the Himalayas--- where my heart resides. In Southern Africa we are taught from a young age that You're supposed to keep right as a pedestrian in all left hand drive countries. I was terrified that you were walking with your back to approaching traffic. Keep right as pedestrian Gabriel and see approaching traffic.
You see that's the correct way for sure even here in India. But for some reason it's normal for people to walk left and also drive left, since everyone is doing it, it is assumed to be the correct way and we teach the same to children. Hey what everyone does is ultimately the right way.
Video is nice but constant honking in the background created mild headache. I had to keep the volume very low. Varanasi is any way a very stereotypical religious city. Hinduism has many schools, Hinduism practiced in Varanasi is one of the most regressive one. I guess westerners found it very exotic to see burning bodies and other weird rituals done on Varanasi ghats (stairs)
Regarding the honking it's a good idea to shout " what else did you get for Christmas ? " This usually quietens things down a notch. Although may not work in non Christian countries quite as well. Worth a shot though.

PM 2.5 was also responsible for causing 9,80,000 deaths due to air pollution in India.

Thousands of people in Southern California die each year from breathing polluted air, according to a study. Researchers found that 1,341 people in the LA area die annually due to air pollution that exceeds levels recommended by the American Thoracic Society (ATS). So will you suggest him not to return to his home state. LoL.
More than 100,000 Americans each year die of heart attacks, strokes and other illnesses caused by air pollution spewed from factories, motor vehicles and even bucolic-seeming farmland, according to a new report that contradicts an EPA panel whose members downplayed the risks during a public meeting last month.
Chicago ranks 3rd in US in deaths and health costs related to diesel pollution, analysis shows.
Gabriel, according to wikipedia, Dum Aloo is a potato based curry dish. "Dum" means slow-cooked, and "aloo" is potato
I’m looking forward to tomorrow .. and the days ahead 💕
JUST DON'T DIE on the other side of the river! You know....

Thanks Gabe - very ballsy video walking right through the chaos. This is what we like! I’m not a fan of the side street monologues - this was great! Getting right in there & taking us there!
Wow, 😍 thank you Gabe this is the closest I'll ever get to touring India 👍

OMG that constant honking is driving me crazy
God I'm glad I'm not there all that noise pollution would drive me nuts!
Epic EXPLORATION!
In streets it's chaotic near river it's Peace ☮️ .
Maybe more 2 - 3 years then everything will be fine .
two more weeks and things will be back to normal
@@qm421 ?? Every thing is normal actually . This government is working quite good . Otherwise early government doesn't used to give a shit about ppls
@@orekiok8939 2 or 3 years it will be more chaotic. The number of vehicles will increase so the honking also increase. Yes this government is working hard but it cannot change the years of mismanagement in few years. The motor vehicles should be banned near the holy sites and replace it will normal cycles, atleast government should ban honking in these sites.
@@0arjun077 I mean it will become more clean . And recently India population percentage is going down so maybe .
@@orekiok8939 fertility rate is going down, which is a good thing but population will continue to increase at a slow rate for atleast 50 yrs then starts to decline.
Looking forward to the Himalayas - away from that awful city noise !
great vid well done vlogging in those chaotic streets!
The noise lol. Never forget that about India.
21:00 Yesterday, April, 22, 2022, the international day of our Earth, "Earth International Day" We need save our Water, Save our River, Save our Ocean, Save out Forest and clean the Air, have too much Polluition and Trash here in our Earth Planet.
Dude! Can you please try to explain how the traffic works there?! It's horrifying to watch and I fear for your well being 😳
They drive on the left. And go clockwise around the traffic circles. There are traffic lights in some places. Other than that, keep your eyes open and honk often.
yes I found ATMS were a hassle. they run out of money. Gabe u r the best vlogger. I watch many & I enjoy yours the most. honest real authentic thanks so very much
Such a real video. I want to experience a walk down a street in India one day!
It's just a city not the whole country lol..I see u guys are amazing at stereotyping things😂
@@utkarshkumar7154 I understand that. Given that I am replying to the video, I am insinuating a walk down a street in Varanasi.
Really enjoyed this very raw serie of India ! Such an impressive country with such extreme I do get overwhelmed with it and my mind goes back and forth shall I go there again? Ultimately it’s a Yes but I need to be prepared mentally as well as physically… It’s very enjoyable to enjoy from the safety of my own home I have to say
Thank you 🙏🏼 I’m really looking forward to the Himalayas now
Cheers Gabriel

That street scene is CRAZY! Pure chaos! Somehow it seems even more random and chaotic than some far east cities, like in Vietnam, etc. I'm surprised more people don't get hurt or killed by motorbikes there - or maybe they do! Lol
You get used to chaos in few days
Every year 400000 people die in india in road accidents. Highest in world.
Motorbikers and pedestrians are friends. They don't collide...
these places are designed before 5000 years when there were no cars busses, two wheelers but only pedestrians and then population was also less.. and we can't demolish the history just to make roads big
Hello Gabriel, you picked up gate number 4 to enter temple hence security asked for ticket. There are 3 more gates in other lanes where you may just stand in queue and access the temple without any ticket. Difference is waiting period will be longer in gates other than 4.
Wowww a blessed good day sir Gabe, "NAmaste ' what a nice Walk around tour in Busy Streets of Varanasi India thanks for your wonderful video stay safe Godbless from your solid fan supporter viewer from the Philippines 🇵🇭 sir Vhin 🙏🙂👍👍👏👏👏👏👏👏🙂🙏
I was thinking when this "beeb beeb" horning will stop and it stopped after a long time. Then again a biker arrived and started beeping.
Nice watch The Raw & Real Street of INDIA
Great Walk and talk Gabriel 👍 😀
Grate video....and welcome to India .... explore India
Coolest video ever!!!
Love that shirt!
Love from India
looks like the street noise makes him really unhappy ...
Another great video
I do not know how anyone can sleep at night, let alone converse during the days, due to the constant din and cacophony in India!
I guess leaning on one's horn is a right of passage and past-time, huh?
It just occurred to me that all the narrow streets, alleyways and detours, are NOT the place for anyone who has a poor sense of direction.
Soooo Happy Gabe that you are finally back east in Asia! Now I can watch each video & can't wait for the Himalayas--- where my heart resides. I know that intense heat in the Indian plains from previous trips... wish I were headed up to the mountains now..
When I got my Schwab card couple years back, you needed to actually be located in the US at the time you apply, then you could travel with it...
If they put the same effort into cleaning and maintenance as they do honking LOL
Continuous honking, seems a common sight
Banks only offer service to make money, if they offer no fee for foreign cash withdrawals, they will most likely make the margin by giving you a worse exchange rate than a bank that does charge a fee. Only worth comparing rates and fees together.
Please do make your plan to visit kolkata Dakhineshwar temple, Belur math, jhorashanko Tagore house of Rabindranath Tagore, Kalighat temple, Birla temple, Fort william, Barakpore Where the first Cantonment was bulit by British army in india, St. Pauls church, Huglee river, Hawarah bridge, mother's house of mother teresa, you can explore Santiniketon( Biswavarati University built by Rabindranath Tagore) and Kamarpukur the birthplace of Ramakrisna Paramangsha Deva, Mayapur Iskon temple and Purulia for traking, Sudarbans those are outside of Kolkata.
You can keep Kolkata in your list. Thanks💚🙏👍❤️
A 100 beeps a minute keeps the accidents away
Why is most of traffic beeping all the time, very annoying. Love the videos,
Apparently the people aren't offended by Foreigners taking videos or photos.
basically Aloo Dum is a specific preparation potato curry made with type of gravy which is prepared in a certain way
Video is nice but constant honking in the background created mild headache.
Brilliant!
Hopefully I'm going to give Varnasi and Delhi a go.I'm going to make sure I have ear plugs. And always have my own toilet paper.
Varanasi beauty:
Eating in the day
Visiting ghats at 7 after sunset.
Good one Gabe 😀👍
That's a strong look that ,sir.
Easy tiger 🐅
Thanks for the content
Hello Gabriel, I have seen your previous videos as well where you visited Himalayas. Have you visited India down south?
Yes: th-cam.com/video/KBZUD8L7sEQ/w-d-xo.html
Regarding the honking it's a good idea to shout " what else did you get for Christmas ? " This usually quietens things down a notch. Although may not work in non Christian countries quite as well. Worth a shot though.
