The whole point of strongman when it started was to test the strength of people with random weird events and objects that they can't prepare for or replicate, (i.e., to take out the specificity training factor), but now these supposed random events became the exact opposite of that, people just have to take the fun out of play and cook it till it loses all taste and character.

@@TheoneandonlyTB135 I never said it didn't exist before, why is everyone talking about when people started lifting stones and logs? yes that started a very long time ago when the first human existed, and all cultures have some version of them using items that exist in their environment, but that's not my point, stones for example are general strength measures that are random in shapes and weights, and when "Strongman" competitions were restarted and branded in the modern day they looked for old measures of strength that were general and not specific. I don't have a problem with "Strongman" becoming a sport, but I would like to see other competitions that actually measure raw strength as a general attribute rather than having specific implements that athletes are training specifically for, and I would still enjoy both.

I think lifts should only count without any gear!
In the real world when we have to powerslam someone we don't have any kind of wraps, belts or deadlift suits on lol

I know alot of the top strongman in Sweden that don’t like suits and figure 8’s but since it’s allowed you would be in a disadvatage not to use them, simce wsm allows them for people being able to lift more other organizers then mimic this.
