Allison, and her band, in all of it's iterations, is downright surgical in their expression of "the music." Always perfection.

Have always felt from the early days of her performances that Alison would cut it , and the rest is history .

Thank you so much for sharing this! My most favorite part of it is when we get to meet the lady who was nice enough to share her angel with the rest of us. After hearing what Alison's mother sounds like, I can only imagine if her singing sounds like Alison too because to me, their speaking voices are exactly the same and Alison couldn't look any more like her mama either. (shaking my head with a smile) God bless you and my role model and her family always!!! Holly in east TN (a fan of Alison since 1994)

I heard the same thing. That certain ring in her Mom"s voice told me where Alison got her incredible pitch. Would love to hear them sing together. And yes mom is lovely.

Yes we do! I second this opinion. Do you have any Alison Krauss and Union station concerts? I'm a collector of those, and I'm always trying to find good recordings.

@@superblindeye1 only of her singing at my wedding 28 years ago, but I don't share that one.

@@CharlesCornettFL wow! I am so jealous! I would love to meet them all one day. Adams presence is missing from the band now, and he is the one who inspired me to pick up the mandolin

I saw her in 1994 the first time with Union Station. I saw her again last year with Robert Plant. Both electric performances.❤

Alison Krauss is definitely one of the best if not the best voice in Bluegrass. I don’t think I’ve ever heard her hit a bad note, she’s amazing. 👍👍🇨🇦

My, how times have changed. But I really dont think she expected her career to blow up and that she would get to work with such a diverse group of musicians and singers.

This is the FIRST comment section regarding AKUS that DIDN’T use the word “angelic” that I’ve ever come upon. 😂

Well, we found out that Alison is just another human being and she is following the "crowd"! She has left Bluegrass (hopefully not permanently) and her roots! At times she doesn't look well (at least to me) and doesn't appear to enjoy herself anymore!

She's not following a crowd. She, as well as her music, has evolved. She has expanded her musical catalog and discography. You can't expect a gifted musician and singer like Alison, who has worked with everybody from Yo Yo ma and Edger Meyer to Sting and Robert Plant, to stay in a box or any single genre. She's created her own lane by not limiting herself. That is why she is who she is. She's truly genreless.
