As my mother declined from dementia, she always knew what Ghost was. It made me smile. She forgot much, but she remembered that I loved Ghost.
my condolences, my mom lost her mother(my grandma) to dementia and covid-19
@@Jerry_the_Head_Oh shit. So sorry to hear about that. 😦 Hope you're doing okay and still enjoying yourself through the grief. 😦 So far, I've lost both my grandads, my dad AND me and my family's close friend, Finley, who lived in Ireland and was killed in a motorbike crash at only 19 years old. 😢 I'm only 28 and I've lost ALL these loved ones. But I know that these things just happen in life, because no one can live forever. __#WhoWantsToLiveForever__. I always try to keep as happy as possible, even when times are REALLY dark. __#ImHappyClapAlong__. 😅 LOL If you ask me, you should always keep positive, no matter what the situation. 😆 You keep well, now, buddy! 😃👍_
_Awwww, that's too sad. 😦 But it's really nice that she remembered one really cool thing about you before she went, buddy. 😢 You take good care and enjoy yourself, now, kiddo! 😆👍_
Sorry fo yo loss dawg🤫🤭🤪❗😁🤯🙀🙋🏽🤩😔😔
Just goes to show music can reach people In ways that no medical care can and this is proof ❤
In the past 48 hours I've gone from barely being aware of this band's existence to mildly intrigued to full-blown obsession. Yup, this is some good shit, alright.
^ Exact same as this guy!!!
Haha, oh man. I remember when this happened to me a few years ago.
Yep. Same here. Lucky enough to get to see them on Wednesday
It's been 3 years for me. Soooo addicted. I am 51. Thought good music was lost.
Wild, I heard about them for the first time in like 2015 and hated their music when I checked it out. About once a year someone would tell me they were a band I'd really like and I'd say "I've already checked them out and didn't care for them, but maybe I just wasn't in the right state of mind so I'll give them another shot." It wasn't until I heard Cirice (which ironically came out in 2015, but never showed up on my radar) around the end of 2020 that I did a hard pivot on them. Once I liked one of their songs it was easier to like the others, and now they're one of the few bands whose albums I've actually bought in the last 15 years.
There's nothing like the feeling of falling in love with a song before even finishing it for the first time
@GrimmTech Entertainment twilight?😖
Well said 👌
amen
This is the catchiest song of Impera. I just can't stop singing it, and I know I'm not the only one. Easily top 10 Ghost song.
Great sound, great lyrics. Simply perfect.
yeah probably the song i listen to the most besides darkness in the heart of my love
For me it’s Kaisarion
Eu tbm não consigo me livrar dela
Así es master.
That is probably because it sounds similar to the pokemon theme
The "mary on a cross" of this album. Simply a masterpiece.
mary on a cross is actually not on this album its on the 7 inches of hell album ^^
@@loiee7762It is an analogy. I've said the "mary on a cross" of this album, indicating that spillways would be the equivalent in Impera as Mary on an cross in Seven Inches of Satanic Panic* no hell.
@@tylerdurden2769 ohhh i get it now mb im just dumb lol
I didnt knew you had such great tastes in music, Tyler
Agreed!!
Intro to Spillways sounds like Runaway by Bon Jovi or Hold the Line by Toto. Chorus sounds like Poison by Alice Cooper (especially the backup vocals) and Dancin' in the Ruins by Blue Oyster Cult, both of which uses the same chords and progression as Spillways. Really catchy song!
Ghost really manages to take the best parts of all my favorite bands, songs and riffs and make some killer tracks out of it.
The beginning also reminded me of the Pokemon theme song, hahah!
@@jean-sebastienberube4056 Me too. We are the real connoisseurs XD
Who cares , the song rocks lol nah cool insight my dude
Not gonna lie, the keyboard intro felt like a mix between Still D.R.E. by Dr. Dre/Snoop Dog and Cold as Ice by Foreigner, but sped up to the tempo of Runaway. Other than that, amazing song.
OMG, how is this not the lead single? Catchy as all hell. If this was 1985, this would be EVERYWHERE!
Cause it's not 1985?
Forge himself wanted this to be the single with Kaisarion but they (the label) said to release Sunshine instead.
If this was 1985 they would have been arrested for satanism a long time ago xD
Yeah I think the label could really have done a better job picking the singles. CMLS and Hunters Moon are good songs but there was so much more quality in the album than them. Kaiserion should definelty have been there
@@jack_byrne_music Well Hunters Moon was MADE specifically for the release of Halloween Kills as a commission by Ghost. Forge himself even said he struggled to think up of something but remembered a song (I believe Blue Moon is what he said referring to Shanana) but he said he wanted it to sound more sinister and tie-in with the movies plot of a psycho protagonist so he made Hunters Moon as a result. CMLS was totally the companies fault though.
My dad just passed away a little over a week ago. He got to listen to this album before he left. We both love ghost. This song is definitely my favorite. I was so close to playing He Is during his funeral and I wish I had now.
im so sorry for ur loss
I'm sorry for your loss, friend. I'm glad you two got to share this beautiful album. Music has the ability to bring people together, more than anything else. I'm sure Papa and the Ghouls would be touched that you and your father shared that connection through their music.
Keep your head up and rock on, brother.
Be glad you didn't play a sacrilegious anthem to Satan at a funeral. I know I am.
@Alexander Hayward I'm glad some other ones were played instead. God isn't real my dude.
@@Puddspanker interesting that your first instinct is to discuss God when he wasn't even a part of the topic, my dude.
Im a die hard metalhead, borderline hipster when it comes to my metal, but I cant deny that Ghost puts out some damn good songs. Idc if theyre "soft" or considered "posers" by my fellow metal gatekeepers. They have a clear talent with songwriting and I'm tired of acting like they dont put out great music. Before I was a metalhead edgelord, I grew up with 80's hair bands thanks to my parents. Ghost feels like a modern day 80's metal band and had they been around back then, I think they would have enjoyed even greater monumental success. I genuinely enjoy when their songs come on the radio. Shout out 98Rock Baltimore.
frfr, I don't think they're "soft" or "posers", I also grew up with rock (mostly 80's) but Ghost is absolutley top 5 favorites
They've been around since the 60s tho
@@NPC1921 they formed in 2006
I would classify them as Rock & Roll, bordering metal because sometimes they go fckn hard. Stuff like "Kiss the Go-Goat" is rock, and "From the Pinnacle to the Pit" is metal.

“And I ain’t talking about forgiveness” my favourite line in this album so far!
Mine too. Some people don't deserve forgiveness. It's rare but happens.

Through benediction
You tried to rid your mind
Of malediction
But through all this time
You tried to peel it off
And it's such a ride
Your desolation
Led you into this
Vile incarnation
Of consummated bliss

All your rage
All your pain
It ain't over now
And I ain't talking about forgiveness
All your faith
All your rage
All your pain
It ain't over now
It's the cruel beast that you feed
It's your burning yearning need to bleed
Through your spillways
You keep a casket
Buried deep within
You try to mask it
But fall back in sin
You wanna shake it off
But you're stuck inside
When stripped of rags
Of skin and spine
Human decay

And it's such a ride
All your faith
All your rage
All your pain

Finally someone else but me thinks of BOC!!
BOC is my favorite band, super underrated. Glad to see that Ghost, one of my other favorites, is getting well-deserved recognition that BOC never really got except for a select few songs.
The best way to sum up Ghost is Spooky Abba, and i stand by that

Haven’t finished the album yet but so far this song is my favorite! Tobias knocking it out of the park with the vocals as usual! And the harmony in the chorus is to die for! Gosh this band amazes me with each song that they produce 🤘
For my entire life I have had difficulties expressing my anger in a healthy way (spillways in a dam), that had lead to a anger issues and ultimately depression. This is a lovely reminder to me to use my spillways of my soul.
Happy New Year 2023 to you all!
Love and prosper :)
I can't get over how good they were already a decade ago and the fact that they are still getting better. They deffo sold their soul to the devil.
He* sold his* soul to the devil.
@@NiVoldiza they were likely talking abt the whole band, ghouls included
@@littlest_bugz why?
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
@@littlest_bugz why would they? This is an official album track, not a live clip. You do know that Forge IS the band in the studio, and the ghouls playing live are hired guns executing his vision? I think he might use a session drummer, but other than that this is a one man band. That was my point.
Love the old school sound but still modern! Love ghost!
That right there is the voice of a fallen angel and we get to listen to his magnificent voice!!!!!
I've become a fan overnight.
This album is just a perfect love letter to rock throughout the ages with that unique Ghost undertone throughout. Just when you think they can't get better they smash all your expectations. GOD I LOVE THIS BAND!
Bon Jovi's "Runaway" vibes in this song !! Love it !
This is one of the best rock albums I've ever heard, in my entire life.
I have said the same about every subsequent album released in German metal for years, of course that is a different dragon but it is still in the same genre per se European metal.
100% agree..production, performance, everything is top notch. Best album ive ever heard in my 38 years of a music obsessed life..lol
This song is literally just Spooky ABBA and you can't tell me otherwise

okay, lemme set the scene; it was midnight 12: something on an october night, it was early into saturday and i was stressed and honestly feeling like utter garbage after having a mental breakdown at my job at the local haunt. I got in the car with my dad and headed to the local Kwik trip, and this song was on the radio since i had it on 44.1 jjo. i swear when i heard this song. i felt much more at ease with myself and much less stressed and horrible, this song made me happy.
so, thank you tobias and papa IV for making my october night better.
The lyric part:
It’s the cruel… beast… that you feed,
It’s the burning, yearning need to bleed, through the Spillways!
I love that part with the backing drum, makes me feel like hyped up as if I’m at the concert!! 🤟🏻😄🤟🏻
It's like a mixture of Toto, ABBA and Alice Cooper 🙌🏻🙌🏻 absolutely love this tune! Ghost hitting it out of the park again with yet another album! Congrats Papa and ghouls! ❤️🔥
Yes! Yesterday as soon as it started at the ritual I thought Toto. As it goes on, I get Alice Cooper's "Poison."
I hear Bon Jovi 🤣 what a crazy song! Everyone perceives it differently 😆
@@polakowara1916 no I totally got bon Jovi as well, sounds a lot like runaway. I also hear blue oyster cult too, burning for you. Just a beautiful mix of different 70s/80s rock 🙌🏻

omg Abba I heard easily but you're so right about the other two!
Ghost are incredible. Just perfect.
This is perfection. Makes me wanna dance! This song takes me back to how I felt as a teenager. And I here for it!
Ok ok ok....look, I listened to this album on YT (also ordered it) and while I honestly thought they could NOT top Prequelle......welllll, I was absolutely, unequivocally WRONG! I have now heard every song on this amazing, stunning, and masterful album, and NOT ONE SONG is "just ok" or "so-so".....every song is a quantifiable MASTERPIECE!!! I am floored!
So many parts of this album have made me audibly moan out in satisfaction from the music.
That NEVER happens to me anymore. Ghost is the only band to make me repeatedly do it. The whole album just melts me. Idek how to explain it. This is literally one of the absolute GREATEST albums I've EVER heard. It's up there with Dark Side of the Moon, The Wall, Bat Ouf of Hell, Destroyer, it actually reminds me a lot of Divison Bell a lot which is another immaculate album. But ugh it's just SOO GOOD. Idk how to contain myself when listening to this thing!

i like ghost, not as much as i used to but this ain't metal.
@@spectre722 If you listen to the stuff from the veeeeeeeeeery beginnings of metal you would not think it was metal, either. It certainly doesn't sound like modern metal so I could see someone wanting to place it more in the hard rock category. It's a matter of perspective. Like AC/DC is hard rock but if you have no experience the aggressive sound and harsh vocals would make someone say it's metal. Nobody is going to tell you Judas Priest isn't metal but listen to Sad Wings of Destiny and you'll realize holy smokes, the metal sound has changed over the years.
@@spectre722 this is, metal isn't a single genre but many. It's like horror, Friday the 13th and Poltergeist are both horror but very different sides. F13 is a cheesy slasher franchise filled with nudity but Poltergeist is a lighthearted haunted house series

They played this live when I saw them in Chicago back on the 15th, and although I've loved them for ages, it was the first time I've heard this song in particular. The energy was INCREDIBLE. A whole audience roaring the chorus, headbanging, thrashing, giving it up for Ghost. Made my year
And this is the genius of Tobias ❤️ Brilliant, better than ever! If you have Ghost you have everything!
The thing I love about Ghost is when you hear a song from them for the first time it sounds like a banger from the 80's that you somehow managed to go your whole life without hearing.
Spot on, I believe Tobias engineers these songs exactly with that in mind. I love it!

Might be my fav song from the 80s and really represents just how perfectly all the best aspects of the 80s are captured on the whole album. 10/10 and I don’t give that lightly
Absolutely stunning; great sense of melody and rhythm.
This album, Impera, was recorded in the same studio where most of ABBA's hits were recorded - fitting that this song and album overall has so much abba influenced songwriting:) this song in particular.
This is definitely my favorite song on this album and I love the whole album!
JAW DROPPED
I LOVE GHOST SO MUCH
I always wondered why certain sounds from the past die out. Bands like ghost show that the 80s sound is still great and has untapped potential. Greta van fleet does it with 70s music and Orville pecks got a 50s/ 60’s Johnny cash thing going on it’s great
I'd say it's on account of fads. People will chase the new sound to catch the modern wave of popularity and discount the value of the old sounds. "I don't care if it's good, I care if it sells! A good song that doesn't sell is no good to me." It's very hard for a band to be good enough to do whatever the fuck they want and still make enough money to be a going concern. So give all the respect to those who succeed at that.
