I'm from Southern York county and live in Georgia. Ty for posting these videos. PA is so beautiful. Your videos are great examples of why PA is called God's country. Plus those potatoes. Yummy but id be putting some canned chicken or tuna in that pot. Drink the water out of the can and mix the meat in. =)
The potatoes look good......try taking some instant grits next time. They go great with a hard boiled egg. I so agree with you about the trash...where ever we go, theater, concert, picnic, etc....if there is not a place to put it, we take it home. And that goes for going to a trash can and it is full as well. Not going to leave it for it to fall on the ground.
@@thewanderingwoodsman7227 LOL different areas and generations. I am 66....there is grits on our table every week. I suggested hard egg to make it easy for you. But we love it with fried sunny eggs, and at dinner with shrimp....or add lots of cheese with barbq chicken and so on. You can get the instant in flavors now. A couple of those I think would be wonderful for a camping breakfast. Thanks for commenting back.
Greetings, don't you love spring....fresh scenery. That Scarlet Tanager was a treat. This is my first time commenting on your channel. Keep up the great videos,. Pennsylvania is a beautiful state. Take good care of Naomi
Fantastic video thanks Cliff. Some people are just too lazy to clean up after themselves. Loved your castle, pleased you didn’t climb up there. That bird was just beautiful and so was the birdsong. Thanks for taking me along. Please stay safe and take care
wow! those water features are some lovely eye candy! love it! I agree on leaving campsite clean for next campers. We owned a KOA in FL for 16 yrs. Loved it I cleaned the camping cabins and the bathrooms. Once in a while the cabin guests would leave a monetary tip on the fold away desk. So that just said they appreciated how well we took care of the campground. I loved when we'd get camping tourists from Europe. Had 2 gents from Germany whoididn't speak any English so I used my dictionary to translate with them even tho I do speak a wee bit of it. One time we had campers from Japan and the U.K. too. It's a really nice business to be in. ✨✨😍😊✨✨
Ravensburg! We love going there for picnics! I've been going there since i was born. I grew up in nippenose valley and we own a mountain right up the road!
Did some dispersed camping in Buchanan state forest and came across your videos when looking up the battle of sideling hill and the abandoned turnpike tunnels. So happy I did. Love you delivery and appreciation of history. Makes us feel like we are there and a great showcase for how much there really is to do in PA and surrounding areas. Especially showing us that you don’t have to be super extreme or thrive at bushcraft to enjoy nature and build confidence in the outdoors. Thank you again
You are really getting close to getting all the state parks done. Looking forward to your family history videos. I do remember when you did stop at some cemeteries that had family members in them. I hope you revisit those places.
I love Ravensburg! It is an absolutely wonderful place. It feels remote even though the highway is so close. Thank you for the adventure and the good memories.
Given your home base, we likely have ancestors from similar locales so I'm very excited for the new series. I've been mapping recorded locations of my eastern and western PA ancestors for years - it's fascinating!
I hate when I'm hiking and people put the dog poop in a bag, but leaves it on the trail. I see it quite a bit at my local county parks. How hard is it to throw it in the trash cans?
One of my biggest pet peeves. On the out and back trails I always hope they plan on picking it up on the way out. Probably incredibly optimistic on my part though.
Thank you for all the cool Videos. My husband and I are going to start hiking our states Forrest. Pa has the best parks. Your videos can give us an idea where to start.
I too are from berks county and have cabin in Clinton county across the river from Hyner View. With a long history that goes back to 1917 from our finding members all from berks to now. With the current cabin we stay in being built in 1927. If you haven’t been to hyner view yet I would be more than willing to help with that.
@@thewanderingwoodsman7227 glad you didnt. You know to listen to that voice inside. Alot of people want you around. We need are daily doses of nature and history.🙂👍🙏
Not much traffic there at night. Buggies use that road, so you must be careful driving. On Christmas night I passed a dozen buggies on the road near the park
We love PA state parks! Most of the ones we know the best are in Westsylvania. We love MK Goddard state park. I’d encourage you to check out some state parks in Ohio, too. I bet that’s kind of far from your home base.
Lucky because I just came here. I guess I should read comments before I go explore. My .ain't thing for going though as is to che k this trail out. I've lived here my whole live and family picnic forever and never heard of this trail or castle rocks
I love your camping videos, Cliff but couldn’t believe you burned that plastic waste! Really disappointed, you should set a good example, burning plastic is more polluting than just leaving it.
I want to get one of those DNA test kits. It's interesting to watch the videos of people who have done it because they are usually surprised with the results. I saw a documentary about it one time and there were twins on it. It really surprised a lot of people that the twins were so different. The bird was beautiful.
The flashlight and channel sticker have been found!
Yep I missed it by a few minutes. They were very nice and I enjoyed meeting the finders
The first picture of the red bird was perfect in my opinion.
Just wish I could have gotten more footage of it.
I loved the video. It was a longer video but didn’t feel long. So enjoying and peaceful.
Very nice - looks like a very nice area to camp & explore! First come & first serve sites are always awesome - right by the stream - very nice!
Didn't have to compete with anyone for a site either.
Cliff,
I've only see a Scarlett Tanager twice in New Jersey, the firsttime was Brigantine Wildlife Refuge back in 1982, beautiful!
Cheers,
Rik Spector
Great video. What a wonderful park, I love all the rocks and cliffs, Cliff.
I see what you did there...
What a totally cool place , amazing rock formations 🍄😎🌷🍒🍒🌷😎🍄

Perfect camp spot Cliff❤️🌳
Beautiful place. Great for eating and sleeping in a comfy tent ⛺ all day.
Once a year, I suggest selling copies of your journal. When the one comes out of my area, I will be buying it!
I have stayed at Ravensburg a few times. It is a very nice spot, as you noted the traffic is not a problem as the evening progresses.
Absolutely luv’d hearing the bird songs and the creek rolling by. Oh my gosh such a beautifully vibrant orange reddish bird you’re sharing with us. 🏕

I remember grits from my college days, maybe I'll try them again.

The parks keep getting better. So beautiful. Enjoy. Take care and stay well.

Hemlock _ Reishi Mushrooms edible when young get medicinal Mushroom when older.
Was just wondering if you ever had any problems with other people when you are out there alone? Do you carry any form of protection with you?
Never had any issues.
