There are plenty of non-religious countries with similar flawed systems, poverty, corruption and poor leadership. The correct ideology and economic system isn't in place, and subversive elements still infiltrates Lebanon (openly, without backlash). This is what has to be rectified. Opportunity need to be created, starting up businesses should become attractive, criminals/terrorists should be removed and a zero tolerance policy towards corruptions, negligence, misconduct, etc, must prevail.

You forgot to mention that the Taif Agreement clearly says that all militias must be disarmed and their weaponry handed over to the lebanese military instead. All of the militiad did indeed disarm with the exception of the shia militia, which later turned into Hezbollah
None of the militias disarmed. Guns are so common there that handing over a few weapons for show won't change anything. In fact, most of these militias still exist. The reason Hezbollah is talked about more is that they're just smarter and supported by Iran.

There is a story about a couple and their young son who were there as part of a business trip for a few weeks, and when the explosion happened, the large view window shattered and sent a shard of glass into their little boy's chest. The little boy died, and the family is haunted by the entire event, the fact that they weren't even suppose to be there, since their flight out was delayed by another day. So horribly heartbreaking

It's really really sad what we've come to. I've been dreading this ever since i understood what politics even meant and now it's our actual situation. Lebanon is a beautiful country that I've always felt was worth fitting for and worth liberating from this spiral of chaos, negligence and power plays. I always told myself i wouldn't abandon my country... But this year a month before all the chaos started in October i started college and i had new priorities and mew perspectives dropped on me. I still want to believe that i wouldn't give up on Lebanon but it's becoming harder and harder every day to cling to that belief.

There is a story about a couple and their young son who were there as part of a business trip for a few weeks, and when the explosion happened, the large view window shattered and sent a shard of glass into their little boy's chest. The little boy died, and the family is haunted by the entire event, the fact that they weren't even suppose to be there, since their flight out was delayed by another day. So horribly heartbreaking

It's really really sad what we've come to. I've been dreading this ever since i understood what politics even meant and now it's our actual situation. Lebanon is a beautiful country that I've always felt was worth fitting for and worth liberating from this spiral of chaos, negligence and power plays. I always told myself i wouldn't abandon my country... But this year a month before all the chaos started in October i started college and i had new priorities and mew perspectives dropped on me. I still want to believe that i wouldn't give up on Lebanon but it's becoming harder and harder every day to cling to that belief.
