I think he doesn't realise that blocking is particularly good for Demon form too. It's a slow card so you need to ride it out for a while with blocks, then just crush them with a multi-hit attack or heavy blade.

@@tylax1987 I have, with many many loses, but I did it, after which I stopped playing StS since it was too addictive(over a month ago). Just in case my tone wasn't obvious, I was being sarcastic about blocking being boring, obviously it's crucial. The joke was that NL seems to think it's boring, since often times he tends to apologize when he blocks and prevents unnecessary damage, as if he did something wrong.
He really threw on that second run against that boss.

Dude, it's the end of the 2nd stage, probably not the best time to pivot to an exhaust deck when all you've got is one exhausting card. I guess if you wanted to do that, could have taken the Fiend Fire+ instead of the shrug.
Bruh I swear the only time NL ever even considers removing basic strikes is when it is not in his benefit.
Always on runs with perfected strike does he remove basic strikes. Never on focus based runs with the defect, or any silent runs.

There is almost never any circumstance in which it is not beneficial to remove strikes. If you think that just because he has a perfected strike he shouldn't remove strikes then I imagine you haven't played much on A20.
I’m js he seems to display an almost acute diversion on every other run to remove basic strikes, yet on the ones where he has perfected strike he almost always removes at least one, which is just baffling
@@chasebanks8211 True, the problem is he has stopped removing cards when he should. Having a perfected strike in the deck though isn't a good reason to stop removing strikes, but I get what you're saying.
Busted Crown from first boss is very very risky. It's not apparent immediately, but it really makes your deck much worse over the course of the run.
Depends on how solid deck already is.
unfortunately you have to know what a good deck is in order to know you dont have one because of busted crown.

Snecko didn't throw the run. The fact that he only added a single defensive card into a Demon Form deck is what did it.
You live by the Snek, you die by the Snek.
Having or not having expensive cards doesn't make snecko bad
Snecko eye draws 2 cards every turn, that's so insanely powerful, it helps get demon form which is basically his ""win condition"" card into play way faster.

If your deck consists of 95% cards that cost 1 energy, Snecko Eye is the 100% wrong take/ play. Yes, even if you have a Demon Form in your deck.

Yo dawg, 10 is a bigger number, so it must be the better play.
I can only remember one time NL used Snecko Eye effectively ( Scrape with Defect ). Every other time it was either terrible or him just hoping his luck will outperform his missplays. If I could forbid him one thing, just one thing...it would be to take Snecko Eye ever again. Out of all his terrible missplays, taking Snecko might be among the worst ones, because it gives him an excuse not to learn something new.
Snecko is good very often 2 bonus cards every turn is big.
I mean taking snecko eye is just pure randomness... even if you beat ascension 20 with it, you just had pure luck in my opinion. Its just so rarely even good
Snecko is only good if the majority of your deck is 2+ cost cards, since it only rolls energy costs between 0-3. Taking it when you mainly have 1 cost cards is extremely stupid
Snecko Eye is great. I think the issue was he only had a single shrug it off for defense going into act 2. Not to mention multiple health draining cards as well!

at 9:40 why would you use strike to kill the 1 hp thief. You should have just used block first then whirlwind.

Is it just me or is watching him lose what feels like 30-40 runs out of plain idiocy on A20 just getting exhausting at this point? I just want to see scrambled father win A20 with ONE character while recording and now throw a GD run!!

Northernlion takes sneko eye for zane the same way he rerolls good runs in isaac.
Plllleeeaaasssseee slow down. 90% of your mistakes are because you glance down at your cards and then play things without thinking at all. Just manually slow yourself down and consider what the best courses of action are, this isn't a race, we like when you're slow, have good commentary, and waffle about between decisions, not when you fly through and fail 4 runs a video at lightning speed when half of them could've been strong runs.
Yo I think focusing the Collector boss is bad. You spend 45 damage on killing each, when they're doing 10 damage a piece. It takes a lot of turns to kill them and that damage should be spent killing the boss instead IMO.
It is better to focus the minions because you are wiping the field and it makes the boss take a turn to summon more. He just focused them horribly.

Im not saying that i don't suck at this game, i do, but i have an excuse, low amount of playtime. How is it possible that even after over 400 times of playing this game, Northernlion still makes such stupid desicions? He should be so much better, yet he keeps sucking...

It's the northern lion special... The guy still does stupid shit in Issac, his constant bad plays, mixed with his 11/10 commentary is the content on this channel.
Keep in mind that because of all the poor plays, when the 10/10 plays come along there simply amazing
