Hello Big Will I am so looking forward to visiting Panama City and I am also interested in The Woodlands (gated community) in Pacifica Panama. That community has high rise, mid-rise, duplexes, pizza shop coffee shop etcetera. I think it's approximately 15-18 minutes away. Looking at your video now. So you are from The DMV like myself. I came to DC in Summer 1972. Been here ever since. I graduated from T. Roosevelt uptown. Currently living in PG County paying $1964 for a two bedroom. Welcome to DC!! 😊😊😊 I am in school changing my career from Patent Paralegal to HR Management. I plan to retire between 10-12 years. Did you ship your car from DC? Or did you buy a car in Panama? Thanks for your time. Love From DC "Portia" or Porsh for short
I was in Panama this past February and was looking to rent or buy a condo,i found way cheaper spaces than what u have onbur board,as a matter of fact going back to purchase a condo in a few month thanks,i was born in panama cane to the USA WHEN i was 21
I'm sure you did. I didn't report all price points. Just the ones that are comfy for people like me. If you are comfy with less than I'm happy for you.
He explained prices in San Francisco which was consider for many years a very good area, of course it could be more. Coronado another area that is good and is not cheaper either. I stayed there in May and June 2024. I am a native of Panama and my husband is American. USA is our home as of right now.

Chuleta, Panama is awesome. So when I lived in puerto armuelles I got dengue. Do you think it would be save for me to retire down there or is dengue still pretty prevalent?
No shots needed. And do you think I'd be here if it wasn't safe from dengue?🤔🤣 We use a lil mosquito repellent just like we would during the summer in DC.

Question- Can you get that discount if you are just that age (60 for men and 55 for women) if you have proof of age and have Panamanian residency or do you have to have the Pensionado Residency specifically to get those great discounts?
Yes but you have the age for men incorrect. It's 62. I would encourage you to consider investing in a consultation call with us to address questions like this and the others you may have. Visit www.panamazingtours.com to schedule your call.
Hey, Big Will!!! what's the name of the Fonda where you get your fish for 4 bucks? We are living at the Yoo until March 1st and would like to visit there.
I don't know the name. There is a row of them behind Children's Hospital. Small container shops. I visit the 3rd shop from the end of the main intersection. You will see a lot of people in hospital scrubs eating there.
You recently spoke about your extremely high electric bill. Does that alter your electricity bill estimate above? Also, you mention paying cash for medical. Do you not require or recommend private medical insurance?
Our electric is higher than what I showed. My estimate is based off the two previous apartments where we lived. Our situation doesn't require more than catastrophic coverage.

In your introduction you mention Panama is an affordable retirement location? I watched the video twice and you must have a different version of affordable than most people since you compare only the most expensive parts of the US to Panama. If a quick search on a cost of living website (numbeo is one) is done, it clearly shows Panama is the most expensive Latin country ( along with Costa Rica) there is. Affordable compared to what? Mexico, Colombia and Argentina are much more affordable if cost of living, only, is considered. If the average retiree relies on social security for his income, I would not use the word affordable to describe what you have presented when rent prices alone in some of the examples you use, would take up a high percentage of that income. I looked at your video list selection and I would like to see your take on a specific video on the language challenges, cultural adjustment and what percentage of those who do make the move last. One study I read indicated within 2 years about half return home. After about 5 years most will stay. I am curious what transitional issues a single person would need, as compared to a couple. I am pleased that you offered a very realistic assessment of the true cost of living in Panama because most channels paint a rosey picture without offering much of a disclaimer on how personal a transition is since we are all different and have a different set of issues we must overcome.
Well, since I know 100s of retirees here and help even more move here, I am going to disagree with your comments on affordability. One of us is actually HERE. Let me help out. You should have said this is too much for me and left it at that. 🤷🏾 Thanks for watching and consider supporting the channel as a member THEN asking for what you want to see.
@@angelstar7656 I gave you real numbers for someone like ME. There are 1000s of retirees living here so someone can afford it. Thanks for watching and stay open minded to the fact that it's not always about you.
He never said things the cheapest place on earth to retire. He gave his input based on his view. Some people barely have 1K to live on. Panama City won't work for that. Some people have 20K per month to live on. Affordable is subjective. All the information he put in this video is accurate and factual. Whether or not you think it's cheap or expensive is up to you.
Panama is a wonderful country, I lived there for 4 years. However, I decided to relocate to Costa Rica, which better suits my lifestyle. Also, the inflation rate is lower in Costa Rica at -1.19%, where Panama is +1.7%.
I've lived in Panama since 2012 and yours info is probably the most realistic/accurate I've seen. Very refreshing. Thanks for that.
I really appreciate this. Thanks for watching

Hello Big Will
I am so looking forward to visiting Panama City and I am also interested in The Woodlands (gated community) in Pacifica Panama.
I am in school changing my career from Patent Paralegal to HR Management.
I plan to retire between 10-12 years.
Did you ship your car from DC? Or did you buy a car in Panama?
Thanks for your time.
Love From DC "Portia" or Porsh for short
Thanks for watching. The answers to your car questions are in another video.
My granparents are from the interior. We had the best time in Coronado beach and visited many other towns.
Thank you!
De nada
Can I rent a furnished apartment for about a month. What sites can I check?
Yes you can and we can help with this. We provide our clients with all the resources they need including the points of contact to help with these kinds of searches. Visit www.panamazingtours.com to book an appointment online.
Chuleta, Panama is awesome. So when I lived in puerto armuelles I got dengue. Do you think it would be save for me to retire down there or is dengue still pretty prevalent?
I lived there from ‘97 - ‘99
Sorry, one more question. What shots have you had in order to live there? I think I had to get one for yellow fever. Great video and thank you
No shots needed. And do you think I'd be here if it wasn't safe from dengue?🤔🤣 We use a lil mosquito repellent just like we would during the summer in DC.
Thanks so much for the info!! This is great💃🏾
I’m not near retirement age but I’m curious about transportation; would you say it’s necessary to own a car living in Panama City? And are traffic and insurance crazy?!
We aren't retired either. 🤷🏿 Not necessary to own a car in the city. Public transportation, subway, taxis and Uber.
Thank you@@GoExplorePanamá
I'm visiting with the intent of staying from Florida, 62 Retired....on 2,000/month only. Can I do it?
Yes you can. Contact us for a consultation call to get more details and to address your other questions 👉🏾 go-explorepanama.com/consultation-video-chats/
Question, are fully furnished places furnished with new furniture? Do you have to use that furniture? Can it be removed?
It depends. Thanks for watching.
$4,000 dollars a month is still expensive.
To you. Not to others.
You have to look at the cost/benefit my friend
@ew374 not really. In a America your spending that on rent and utilities alone. But he said it's about the area
@@feliciadace7825 👍 ok
@@GoExplorePanamá you married 🤓
Question- Can you get that discount if you are just that age (60 for men and 55 for women) if you have proof of age and have Panamanian residency or do you have to have the Pensionado Residency specifically to get those great discounts?
Yes but you have the age for men incorrect. It's 62. I would encourage you to consider investing in a consultation call with us to address questions like this and the others you may have. Visit www.panamazingtours.com to schedule your call.
just curious how much is the minimum wage in Panama? maybe cheap for some of us from the states, but maybe too much for locals???
If you were really curious, you could easily find out using google. That said, I live here with plenty of "locals" 🤷🏾
Thank you @@GoExplorePanamá
You recently spoke about your extremely high electric bill. Does that alter your electricity bill estimate above? Also, you mention paying cash for medical. Do you not require or recommend private medical insurance?
Our electric is higher than what I showed. My estimate is based off the two previous apartments where we lived. Our situation doesn't require more than catastrophic coverage.
Is Panama safe for kids to visit? Is there anything for children to do besides parks and malls?
Panama is safe. Period. Full stop. And we have beaches, rainforests, museums, bikes, pools, surfing and all kinds of things for kids to do.
I need to make it happen I'm tired of Chicago and America 😂 how much do you think it is for a nice beach house? Thanks

I so agree. I would prefer real numbers as opposed to subjective opinions as to what is affordable.
@@clintonhauck7893 Thank you for your insightful response. And thanks for watching.
Panama is a wonderful country, I lived there for 4 years. However, I decided to relocate to Costa Rica, which better suits my lifestyle. Also, the inflation rate is lower in Costa Rica at -1.19%, where Panama is +1.7%.
Thanks so much for watching.
