As a tennis player, i totally agree with the concept of how to contact the ball. I liken it to passing a volleyball, where i have to absorb the ball rather than hit it. Great video and tips!
I have found that topspin drops tend to bounce high and give the opponent something to attack. What do you think about backspin drops? They don’t bounce as high and tend to pull away from the opponent.
With a slice drop you are giving the opponent topspin feed if the flight brigs it up after bounce. As Tanner mentions the topspin Drop is meant to move away- jump off court :) As also mentioned in several of Tanners videos ( dink vid) .... Slice = a defensive shot and Topspin = an Offensive shot, in most instance. Diggin the videos Tanner! Thanks for sharing !!
This is so hard for me but I’m working on it and understand it’s effectiveness. As a tennis player I always want to drive my third shot or hit a backspin drop. I wouldn’t be caught dead “pushing” the ball in tennis. 😂
You are a very good teacher. Thanks !
Amazing instructions. I know now what I've done wrong when trying to do a 3rd shot drop. Thanks Tanner!
Great explanation!
Great tips Tanner. It was nice meeting you at Mesa tournament.

Great lesson, most people I play with don’t do the 3rd shot drop, they just keep driving it. It’s easy to do a bad one🤣
Watching this video has me itching to hit the court and perfect my technique. I tried Oliver-Sport paddle and I can recommend to everyone!
What grip are you using
Nice, thanks

I honestly slice drop 75% of the time, rarely do I topspin drop.
Different strokes for different folks

love your vidoes
Won't the other team use poaching to neutralize the advantage of backhand side drops to their right side player?
not if it lands in the kithen
