Recent articles posted by various doctors etc, to the internet state that salt was not a problem in high blood pressure, low potassium was the culprit. From the time I was a child we never added salt to our food at the table. It was considered an insult to the cook. It was always there for those who desired it. A little salt was added while cooking and where it was required in baking.

Agreed! I'm experiencing this right now. I watch my sodium but definitely not salt free and increasing potassium is what's bringing my bp down. Potassium helps the body dump excess sodium. If we have enough potassium the sodium isn't an issue.

I used to have highish blood pressure, and made a big effort to reduce my salt intake. There's so much salt in US foods - two slices of white bread can give you the RDI. Then I went low carb, avoiding all packet foods, transitioning to carnivore light (still eating some above ground veggies) I then found I needed to increase my salt intake, yet my blood pressure is now in the normal range, 120/70.

Penzeys salt free mixes. My favorite is Sunny Paris. Penzeys does have brick & mortar stores but I usually order from their website.

The chloride is what gives Salt the salty flavor, not the sodium. Try potasium Chloride.

I use MySalt substitute which contains potassium chloride and lysine that both have been linked to lowering blood pressure. I tried the Morton substitute but it contains fumaric acid which could have a negative effect on kidneys. I have lowered my blood pressure significantly with MySalt substitute.

I've been using a product called Nu-salt. Taste is very close to salt. But there are no ingredients listed on the shaker. Made in America. Can you check it out? Thanks for the time you spend with us.

Potassium chloride. It may be on the label in very small print. At least it is printed In small print just above the Nutrition Facts on the 3 ounce Nu-salt container that we have.

I have one but I can’t remember the name of it, I don’t even remember the channel of couple talking about it! I was supposed to order some and then of course I didn’t!
but if by some miracle I find it! I think it’s called STAR DUST (melach substitute)
So, said all that to say, if I find them soon, I will return with the information.

Funny I really never missed Salt or adding Salt to my food but if I did the Morton's Potassium Chloride would be my choice especially since so many foods are loaded with Sodium you need some way to keep the Sodium Potassium balance in your body. Let's not forget the Magnesium and the zinc too for best high blood pressure control, remember 85% is labeled Essential hypertension which means they have no idea what's causing it, how's that make you feel. The guy and his wife (partner?) yappin' about salt substitutes with a bar in the background fully stocked with just about every high- end premium liquor known to man. Hmm, I think I'll throw a little Cointreau and Miss, Mrs., Mr., Ms. Dash, whatever it's called nowadays, into my omelette! Love it guys. Keep the comedy comin"!

Celery Salt has no salt added. Make your own. Dehydrate chopped celery in oven on very low heat. Then grind in spice grinder. Viola. And has a salty taste.

    Salt Substitute taste so horrible!
I’ll give “Salt for Life” and “RU Ved a try!
Ever since I stopped using Iodized Salt, my Blood Pressure improved significantly.
I switched to Sea Salt-Pink Himalayan.
Can you (or do you have a video) tell us about these Salt’s?
The Celtic Brand is one of the best.
Thank you so much for your wonderful videos!

Hi I’m in the uk 36m I just found out last week I have very high blood pressure 200+ sad to say most of it is my very bad diet so I’ve been eating no salt diet meals eating healthy which I’m making at home. Doctor wanted to put me on the pill as it’s very high risk for my health if I leave it to long I said give me a week I want to change my diet so far my blood pressure has come down to 150 to 160 still high and have a long way to go I’m a bit overweight as well. 100% I know my doctor is going to put me on the pills. Since change my diet to no zero salt I noticed some things taste as if I put salt in it for instance shrimps. What I really miss is sauce like bbq sauce ketchup are there any type of zero salt sauces or condiments available I really miss my sauces 😢

Great information. Just one thing. If you are all about health, then why can you even mention a carnivore diet as a legitimate, healthy diet? It causes cholesterol levels to go through the roof. Not to mention the lack of fibre and the plethora of vitamins and phytonutrients plants provide.

    • @AdamJStoryDC
      @AdamJStoryDC  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

Because carnivores watch the channel and they don't like to be left out. It also helps the algorithm. Lots of people think it's stupid. Eating steak, once a day...

    • @viviendaquino8364

@@AdamJStoryDC Not sure why you feel you have to appease them by mentioning the diet in ylur post. It's not only silly, but dangerous, based on anti-science. It openly denies that high ldl cholesterol leads to cardiovascular disease, when the science is unequivocal. Do you feel it might be normalising and advocating pseudo-science? Just something for you to consider going forward.
I really liked your post and think it will be very beneficial to many people.
