Appreciate the advice brother, especially about initiative… Currently having to quit Mary Jane to find a decent career out of High School… Been smoking for 4 years, I forgot how I honestly felt being sober, now the productivity is through the roof! I just did an intense workout and I still feel like I could go until I drop.

I used to smoke 1-1.5 grams per day, and now I'm on my path to quitting. Currently, I only smoke on the weekends, usually on Saturday. I avoid smoking on Friday because it's already late after work, and I don't smoke on Sunday to allow time to recover for the upcoming week. If quitting step by step or going cold turkey doesn't work for you, try my method. I don't use alcohol or any other drugs, so I haven't decided to quit entirely; this allows me to have at least some relaxation of this kind of things.
    1. Focus on one day at a time. You don't have to make it through the whole week-just try to make it through today.
    2. If you start thinking of excuses to smoke, remember that addiction only protects itself. It's not YOU who wants to smoke; it's the cerebellum (the part of the brain closest to the dopamine channels). There is no rational thinking in this part of the brain, which is why it's more difficult to say one thing but do another.
    3. Keep your focus on the main goal that is quiting weed. Exercising, eating healthy, being productive etc comes later!
    4. Embrace withdrawal symptoms because it is your body healing itself!

Me and my bf smoke everyday, smoking for about 3 or 4 years now we function normally and it doesn't interfere with our day to day life much but it's taking a big chunk of our money and it might be good to slow down on it atleast

I’ve been smoking for about 7 years, every day/night and whenever I’m bored. It wasn’t until about 2 years ago I realized how much better life would be without it. Until you have the desire to be fully functional, healthy, happier, and productive, you won’t be able to quit. It’s something you yourself have to want to do, no one can force you to quit. I just hit 29 years old and realize that my life has to go somewhere. In college and early adult hood it’s easy to just forget about the problems of life, once you hit a certain age, that changes. You realize you gotta get you shit together instead of coasting through life. Good luck with you journey!

There’s a difference between functioning and living a full and meaningful life. There’s also the illusion of functionality that comes with weed smoking. Maybe try slowing down and see what happens
