Just gotta say…. As a silver haired, salt and peppery 68 year old gone gray at 58, I love your dark eyebrows with your gray. As a natural brunette, eyebrow color was a real conundrum for me when I went gray. I felt lighter shades washed me out. I needed the dark color. So I stuck with dark brown and very happy I did. I have a good arch. I just wish mine were as thick as yours. They’re GORGEOUS with your hair color. 👍
I agree. I was a brunette. Still am mostly but with gray temples and kind of salt and pepper. My naturally black eyebrows started getting weird long coarse hairs which I had to trim. But then they need to be filled in. My best look is a dark brown powder lightly applied to the brows with a tappered brow brush.
As a fellow artist.. just gotta day.. Love your candidness and raw beauty! We artists need to be REAL AND REALISTIC.. in this world as we age .. AGING… takes such a toll on our self esteem… you are lovely.. and you have taken some of the guess work out of all the options! SIMPLIFY IS MY MOTO❤️
I really like that Dior foundation idea. I like the fact that stippling it with the pad that comes with it doesn't disturb the color corrector where a brush might ..in fact, it blended quite nicely, lightweight and still looked 'matte and luminous' at the same time. Great look. I use rosewater as a setting spray.

Unfortunate that it was so upsetting, but bringing someone to justice is healing for all involved. Happy International Women's Day to you! You are certainly lifting up all of your followers with many options to take care of themselves - far more than skin deep. Bravo!
I love that you do your eyes first before foundation. I've always done that and other people have always thought I was weird for it lol I'm so happy I'm not the only one . I really love this look. I have short, fine hair and am always looking for a way to add body to it. I'm going to give the Velcro rollers a try :)
I went through a very difficult 6-8 weeks while my newborn was in the hospital & developed a similar sort of hive outbreak on the side of my chin & found a hat an essential oils blend product from ABEDA applied lightly AM & PM helped it calm down & finally go away within a week … it had been so sensative that just a breeze on my face was very painful … you might try it !!! I LOVE your tutorials for my now septuagenarian skin … thank you sooo MUCH ‼️

When using a cushion I use a loose powered before the cushion then I don’t need to set it with powder and can just use a setting spray. It keeps the finish fresh but really holds much better.
Hi Nikol. I love your channel!!! I have so many pages of notes. My dilemma is….. I’m 75, fixed income, so I can’t keep trying everything I want to. Could you please tell me, if I can only buy one moisturizer and foundation, what would be the best. I’ve been blessed with pretty good skin. But, now my age is beginning to show. I would really appreciate any suggestions. You are the best. Watching you lifts me up!!!!!
If you are in a limited budget as I am (mum of two toddlers) why don't you go for a tinted moisturiser which is both good for skin and will give coverage? Try Pur cosmetics
I am almost 60 and the best foundation I have ever used is the wet n wild tinted moisturizer. It’s about 6 dollars, looks very natural and long lasting.
@@Chris-tg3qy That's funny. I was using Tom Ford's Shade & Illuminate daily. Someone told me about Wet N Wild's, "Tinted Hydrater," for $6.96 at Walmart. I am in my 60s, and need good coverage. This product is EXCELLENT. Plus, the way it dries down, I do not need to use powder.
Still loving your intentional messages regarding age and make up. Just get in there and get messy and learn the make up looks that we like for ourselves. I often wondered why am I hesitant to explore! Thanks for the encouragement. See you soon.

Great hair!! I am seeing many ladies letting their hair turn gray. Beautiful. Makes me realize how young people are when their hair starts turning. My mom had Cole black hair. She started to gray at 18. I'm 60, was a blond, now like a wet sand color with a bit of gray on right side. Do you think people that were blond gray slower?
I love this foundation I’m glad you reviewed it, because I thought there was something wrong with it that nobody had told me about… I suffer a LOT of pore congestion & thought my use might have been contaminated by my oily skin
Nikol Johnson. . . thank you for all of your videos. I only just recently saw a link to all of them on youtube and love listening to all your tips, etc. on makeup. I especially like that you are so extremely casual, honest, open, etc. etc. You are really fun to listen to. . . so thank you so much for all you do and all the tips, etc. By the way. . .the video you did with your mother was great . . both of you are so sweet and beautiful. I appreciate all . . . mainly learnng so much at my very young age of 80.
I’ve been using (and raving about) this product for years. It’s not actually a foundation though, it’s more of a tint. Roughly 80% of it is their serum from that line and it’s classed as a treatment. They also have a clear version with the same SPF. At the beginning of the pandemic I panicked cause I couldn’t find it and Dior said they were discontinuing it. I was so happy when they back tracked. I’ll never find anything as good as this again!
I love your channel. You have really turned around my preconceptions about going grey. I'm still working on growing out my hair and experimenting with makeup 😊
Oh wow Nikol, loved the video. Loved the cushion foundation! Yes so casual. I want to try the blush palette as well! Thanks so much for another option of foundation.
Had same button issue (several times) - had button holes done at dry-cleaners. I have gotten antique buttons at antique store but also have found beautiful buttons at local fabric store.
I am 71. my skin tends to be on the dry side within the T-zone. Currently, I am using a powder foundation. I looked at a close-up of my skin and could visibly see my pores, I didn't like the way it looked. (They are not overly large) Would I get better coverage using a cream foundation or should I stick to the powder? Before I retired 8 years ago, I was using Mineral makeup and it looked very nice. I stopped wearing it after I retired and just within the last 4 months started wearing foundation again. Please give me advice on the most flawless way to go?
@@francescalegrand4520 It is one of Nikol’s eye shadow palettes. A total surprise how much I love it. It is apparently one of her best sellers. If you get it, I hope you love it like I do.
I have been using Dior 020 for years. It is worth the price. I am 63 and people tell me I look like I am in my 40's. When you have older skin less is more and quality does matter.
Having been in law enforcement, I understand . Im so happy to see you pushed through and are back. We missed you ❤I absolutely love your channel and your products!
I watch your channel and find your information so helpful. I am 77 yo, dry skin, and have Rosacea on my face, just under my eyes, and sometimes it is very red and sometimes have tiny pits and sometimes a crust develops. My dermatologist tells me to beware of sun and cold exposure (I wear sunscreen, hat, and face mask.) I just started using LaRoche-Posey with primer SPF 50 sunscreen. I also started using L'Oreal Age Perfect night cream, which has been beneficial for my dry skin. The products seems to help, but I have to be diligent. Their literature recommends the the sunscreen is always applied LAST in make-up routine. I also got Bobbi Brown primer and the Joah Crystal Glow tinted luminizer stick. I feel like there is something better out there, so should I keep searching or use these products with sunscreen or try something else?
So happy u're back - looking as beautiful as ever. I use the Clarins Cushion foundation definitely one of my favourites. Gives a fantastic natural finish and I can be at the beach all day and won't budge. The only negative it's expensive and doesn't last for long. Fabulous video thank u Nikol
Glad to hear I’m not the only one who wears her makeup on her clothes. I have a solution now, though. Since I inherited my grandmother’s dressing bureau and love to sit at it to make myself up just as she did (my granny was immaculate with her makeup) I keep a full length apron in one of the drawers. I pull it out and make sure it is covering as much as possible. When done I gently fold it up (so makeup doesn’t go on the clothes or floor) and place it back in the drawer. It gets washed every couple of weeks. Clothes saver!
I used to use the Trumatch Lumi Cushion compact foundation just like this one, by L'oreal years ago. It has the exact same outcome & effect as the Dior, at a fraction of the cost of course. Just like the Dior, it adds a demi-matte, with a subtle luminosity look to the skin! There are actually other drugstore brands that carry the same exact concept in foundation like this one... but nowhere near what Dior charges. I actually found one at Dollar Tree (again years ago). These days, I'm using bareminerals; for ease of use and its incredibly natural effect it leaves on my skin. Quite frankly, since using bareminerals for a while now, I don't think I'll ever go back to liquid or even compact-powdered foundations - I'm so obsessed with it! 😁
Hi Augncy, could you please tell me (or better, paste a link, if you can) to the bareminerals foundation you're using? I've heard of bareminerals but never used any of their products and I'd like to ensure I'm looking at the right one. Thank you! :)
I have been using seint makeup for a little while, I do like natural things. Can you tell me. If you have any ideas I am light skin, I am up for any new stuff, tku
I found the Trumatch Lumi Cushion a few months ago on a site designed for discontinued products. I wear it over the CoverGirl with Olay. The Lumi looks so nice over it. I was so amazed to find discontinued favorites.
The Trumatch Lumi Cushion was pretty practical. It was fast & easy (non-liquidy) to use. More importantly, I really enjoyed its luminosity, soft-matte effect. However, I do remember going through a compact pretty quick, as it didn't have no where near what a typical bottle of liquid foundation carries. That for me, was the primary reason I stopped buying it, plus, as soon as I tried the Bareminerals and other powder foundations, I pretty much said goodbye to all liquid foundations - including these not-so-liquidy types. I have normal to oily skin. Not surprisingly, this review appears to describe the exact same effect as the Trumatch Lumi Cushion. The cost however, well, there's definitely a BIG difference ☺
Nikol you must get sick of reading my comment of you are my sister I never had. ❤❤ Love watching you. You encouraged me to go silver. I’m 55 and fully transitioned and love it !!!! Love these make up vids. Just a point of interest - have you tried the CoverGirl Smoothers pressed powder ? It is undoubtedly a dupe for something. Love it. Great for mature skin that gets a bit shiny still. It never fails me 🥰🥰 and I’m also a stocker for a green moisturizer or cover to hide a bit of pinkness. 😅 love you God Bless you and Jesus be with you always xo 💖✝️
I love your channel. I have never been a big makeup person, but now that I am in my 50s started to experiment a little. I am also letting my hair grow. I have had a pixie with undercut for a long time and have decided to grow it out. It is definitely a long process. I started watching your videos a month ago and have learned so much. Oh and I just love your hair.
I'm 53, and just started wearing makeup, too. I'm having a ball experimenting and playing with it. It's all part of self care and loving myself. Loved your comment, and had to chime in. I'm loving videos like these for direction and connection ❤️
You are gorgeous!!! I have stopped coloring my hair and I have just a bit of brown on the ends. You are so inspiring! I watched your videos and have learned so much from you. I have been buying some new makeup to brighten my face, and I am enjoying it!
I know these are old videos, but I'm a new subscriber and I'm binge-watching them - lol. Girl, my hair on its BEST day doesn't come anywhere near yours on its WORST day! One of my BFFs was born in Greece and came to Texas when she was 11 years old. She, too, has that gorgeous head of hair like you do. Your casual makeup is fabulous - just like you!🥰
Thank you Nikol for another sweet and wonderful video and “look”. I can’t tell you enough how much I have loved every product I have purchased from your line of makeup! For those ladies who might be hesitant, don’t be! I just turned 68 this week and truly your products are timeless and ageless! And your customer care is superb as well! Quick question about the foundation in this look. How do you suggest cleaning the sponge, and do you clean it each time you use it? I have super sensitive skin and even still have acne (if you can imagine that at my age!), so I’m super careful to always use clean brushes and sponges. Would love your thoughts! Have a blessed week and praying for your much needed rest after your service on jury duty.
Hi thank you I am so happy you are enjoying my cosmetics. You know the sponge in the cushion foundation is an issue. I am not crazy about it because you can’t clean it properly. I tried cleaning mine and it did not feel like It was getting clean. This the only drawback I have right now with cushion foundation. I haven’t read that the sponges are anti microbial I am still doing research on the sponge and will report back if I have any exciting news. Since you have sensitive skin and adult acne I would not use this sponge as a precaution.
Nikol you did exactly the right thing, you said to yourself wait ! I need to decompress! You are so funny you really crack me up, you are so natural . God bless
Did you arch your eyebrows? i wondered how you feel about tatoo on eyebrows. i have a bad scar since im 10 .i fell off my bike and cut my eyebrow. Thank
Welcome back and happy Friday! You look beautiful as always! I'm so sorry that you had to deal with the jury duty. I truly hope you are feeling better. Much love and many prayers to you. 💕
I really like your show I’m learning so much how to put makeup on even though I have wrinkles and I can see a big improvement in my skin and makeup ❤thanks again please keep your shows going I can’t stop watching because now I can now put makeup on now I know how to put mascara on and especially eye makeup.
I do exactly what u said! I have my go to every day makeup & brushes on a makeup tray so I can do my makeup in under 10 min including lashes. & yes it most def helps from feeling overwhelmed. When I buy new products I keep them separate & try them on when I'm not so busy. If I have an event I pick out the makeup the night before so it will be ready for me to apply.
Well you look marvelous! I especially like the foundation on your skin, it looks lovely, your skin looks fresh, no dry appearance at all! Love the makeup, will have to look into it all :). Thank you for a great video!
I was on jury duty and two trials for 3 weeks. I was in the service industry and walked for a living, so sitting all day was TORTURE. I also had sciatica and it was the worst month of my life!
Haha, I use those Velcro rollers. Those things are a great invention. I blow dry and then put them in when my hair is just slightly damp but mostly dry….leave them in for about a half hour. Nice volume and lift at the roots
After watching your video (3 times) I decided to get the foundation. I also picked up “Lancôme Absolue péche powder” to set it. (I normally do not wear powder because I have dryish skin and live in FL ) I have been wanting that Lancôme powder for a while (just couldn’t justify the price tag but it was gift time with Lancôme as well as my birthday so what’s a girl to do? …I got it 🥰 I love the combo. I tried the foundation alone and despite it saying matte…it was beautiful and not at all matte…more like a luminous velvet and is exactly as you described, it evens out my skin tone without looking cakey, it doesn’t feel heavy and it doesn’t settle into my find lines or emphasize anything I’m not crazy about. With the powder it just gives me a lit from within look -my husband said I was “glow-y” 🤣. I’ve been on a very long foundation journey. I’ve always taken excellent care of my skin and wore the right sunscreen religiously however once I hit 41 everything changed. My skin was like someone else’s skin. It’s like I woke up one day and everything was off. Suddenly tried and true products no longer worked or looked good on me. Every foundation (for the last 2+ years) I’ve tried drugstore to luxury was just wrong for me and I did my research 🤷🏻♀️. Partly pandemic issues but mostly just nothing seemed right on my skin. There were some “okay” ones but nothing that wowed me or even just didn’t may me look older, until this combo. It could be a bit more buildable in coverage but on the other hand, if it were , perhaps it wouldn’t look “airbrushed” and that would ruin it. All of this just to say, THANK YOU. Thank you for your videos, doing the trials/testing and thank you for recommending the DreamSkin foundation!! 😘🌟🌟 it’s gorgeous and worth every penny !
Hi Nikol! So sorry to hear about your 'dark space' 😟. We live in a emotional Rollercoaster 🎢.. Sometimes you need some time to breathe. Thank you for this video. You are a beautiful person. Brigitte 🌷
This is a great idea for me to leave the eyeliner off and try that for a more natural look. I try it tomorrow and let you know what I think and if it suites me. I have downward slanted eyes sort of like Marlena Dietrich eyes. I help it with eye liner to make a cat eye slanted upwards to give my eyes a lift, but that’s not to say that I won’t try leaving the eye liner and see this maybe new look for me. Thanks for your lessons. I loved what you did for your foundation with Dior. I’ll try buying some in my City. Blessings Annastasia
❣️Love the idea of this…will not spend this amount for a foundation…too bad L’Oréal isn’t making their cushion anymore (removed from their site) 😵💫😝🥺 However, I dab serum foundation on (sheer coverage love) and use damp beauty blender for the same look…like beautiful skin without a mask of makeup ❤️❣️L’Oréal serum foundation and add a pump from Amazon because I hate a dropper for foundation…so messy.
hi Nikol, i love yor videos, you create wonderful videos. one question, Are your make up products made with all natural ingredients and free of heavy metals, and other nasties like artificial stuff? it is important for me to buy natural stuff for health reasons, thank you
Nikol, I love you and your products. I’m 69, retired but like to still look attractive but done efficiently. I’ve moved towards crayons on top of MAC soft ogre. I’m getting tons of compliments. Would you consider doing a crayon review. I’ve used Bobbie brown, Lancôme beauty pie
That looks beautiful as always. Thought I’d share with you my epic fail with the Velcro rollers. I was getting ready for a party and did hair and makeup like the gorgeous Nikol. Don’t know what I did wrong but when the rollers came out I looked more like Cruella De Ville! Straighteners saved the day. Hadn’t laughed so much for ages ❤️❤️❤️ Much love x

Love this channel. It really is helpful to learn about tips and tricks for woman over 40. Just such a breath of fresh air and a positive influence.
Thank you 🙏🏻
Its a refreshing change to see a sassy older lady 👏👏👏
I am 71. my skin tends to be on the dry side within the T-zone.
I love your eyelid primer. I'm 62 and it is fabulous. I never used one before I watched your videos.
Such great news Susi
Hi Susi, how’s your day going with you?
Bottled Blonde is the most amazing palette I’ve ever used. Such a surprise how much I love it. The shimmer/sheen is so perfect and I’m a 60 year old.
So happy to hear this
That’s great to hear Jane. I’m 65 and I just ordered it. Have the other palettes and love them so excited to add this to my collection.
What brand is the Bottled Blonde palette ?? I want one !!!
@@francescalegrand4520 It is one of Nikol’s eye shadow palettes. A total surprise how much I love it. It is apparently one of her best sellers. If you get it, I hope you love it like I do.
@@maureenturk8578 Hello Maureen - Could you tell me what other palettes you have and love? I have a few of her lipsticks - just got NikRay.
As I’m aging I am having trouble with eyeshadows. I got your eye primer and this helps so much. Thank you!
Love love this compact - easy , diffusing , great soft coverage
I am loving the elegance of this woman. She's the type of woman I surround myself with. Beautiful channel
Hi Jara, how’s your day going with you?
I have been using Dior 020 for years. It is worth the price. I am 63 and people tell me I look like I am in my 40's. When you have older skin less is more and quality does matter.
Hi Sandra, how’s your day going with you?
Love the casual look especially if you have not a lot going on. Thank you for sharing!
Hi Sylvia, how’s your day going with you?
Hi Melinda, how’s your day going with you?
Glad you feel better. I've been a walking ptsd episode. I understand being thrown off and not quite yourself. Keep the Faith🤗
Ohhhh I didn’t know they made one I will do a little research on this thank you
I loved the way you did your make up. In my opinion you did not need eyeliner. Your eyes look so stunning. I really value your make up tutorials
Thank you
Hi Victoria, how’s your day going with you?
Thank you! :)
Yes would be nice to have a link!
Oh wow, that foundation looked fantastic on you. I love it! And the SPF factor upped its game. I will invest in one. Thank you 🙏
Nikol you must get sick of reading my comment of you are my sister I never had.
I am 65 and started wearing foundation. Still not sure about eye makeup.
@@Lit123ful why not??? Try something new!! If not now when??? Just do You!!! No on3 can tell you your doing it wrong!!!💜💜💜
You are gorgeous!!! I have stopped coloring my hair and I have just a bit of brown on the ends. You are so inspiring! I watched your videos and have learned so much from you. I have been buying some new makeup to brighten my face, and I am enjoying it!
Bravo!!!!
Your casual makeup is fabulous - just like you!🥰
I just went natural with my nails. I think of what I’m saving in time snd money. I agree taking care of our nails is an accessory for sure🌷
I really appreciate your videos as I kind of got used to not putting time into makeup as I aged. Now I am getting inspired to at least experiment.
God bless
Hi Celia, how’s your day going with you?
Thanks Nikol for sharing this quick make-up look. Love your channel ❤️
Hi Lori, how’s your day going with you?
Miss Nikol, do you wash your makeup brushes after each use? What product you you use to cleans them?
I really like your show I’m learning so much how to put makeup on even though I have wrinkles and I can see a big improvement in my skin and makeup ❤thanks again please keep your shows going I can’t stop watching because now I can now put makeup on now I know how to put mascara on and especially eye makeup.
Bless your heart. Hope you’re feeling better today! 💜🥰
I just so luv you for this!!! I love the whole Velcro curlers vibe!!!!
Welcome back Love!!!🙏🏼✨❤️
I just bought your brushes. I love the case to keep them in! How often do you clean the brushes, and what do you use to clean them? Thank you.
Nikol, is there a product that I can place over the foundation that I put on my neck and chest that will prevent it from rubbing off on my collar?
@shelly I was wondering how does the sun effect you it's hot in Orlando does the foundation or powder come off just curious
Hi Nikol! So sorry to hear about your 'dark space' 😟.
We live in a emotional Rollercoaster 🎢.. Sometimes you need some time to breathe.
Thank you for this video. You are a beautiful person.
Brigitte 🌷
Thank you Bridget 💗
Hi Brigitte, how’s your day going with you?
Beautiful I enjoyed you showing the way you put it on thank you so much it was great👍🏽🎉🎉🎊🎉🎊🙏🏽
Thank you
This is a great idea for me to leave the eyeliner off and try that for a more natural look.
You are so much fun..so professional, yet personal and frank..so enjoyable and informative..thanks!
Hi Kathy, how’s your day going with you?
I never heard of this style of foundation. Very pretty and interesting.
Hi Ellen, how’s your day going with you?
Love your make- up tutorial. You are the best Nikol.
hi Nikol, i love yor videos, you create wonderful videos. one question, Are your make up products made with all natural ingredients and free of heavy metals, and other nasties like artificial stuff? it is important for me to buy natural stuff for health reasons, thank you
Nikol, I love you and your products. I’m 69, retired but like to still look attractive but done efficiently. I’ve moved towards crayons on top of MAC soft ogre. I’m getting tons of compliments. Would you consider doing a crayon review. I’ve used Bobbie brown, Lancôme beauty pie
Hi Nancy, how’s your day going with you?
That looks beautiful as always. Thought I’d share with you my epic fail with the Velcro rollers. I was getting ready for a party and did hair and makeup like the gorgeous Nikol. Don’t know what I did wrong but when the rollers came out I looked more like Cruella De Ville! Straighteners saved the day. Hadn’t laughed so much for ages ❤️❤️❤️
Much love x
Wait I don’t get it too much volume?
@@NikolJohnson haha. Yes. Much too much. Hilarious. I’ll keep trying. X
Try blowing your hair out first. Then put in the rollers and mist with a volume spray. Then blow again and let cool down. See if that helps.
I once arrived at work for an early shift, looked down and a velcro roller was stuck to my pant leg! The girls thought it was hilarious..☺
I think that color of foundation is really good for you. I like darker better than lighter. Thanks for a very nice video.
I hope the eyebrow show has tips for people who have thin to nothing brows. Great show.
Yes it will
In a previous life I was a C Dior (also YSL) acct executive. Sure miss the gratis product and fragrances!! Both brands have very good treatment, skincare, and colors.
You are my new favorite beauty influencer here on TH-cam and I love your aesthetic!! I recently in the last year and a half, let my hair's now Grey come out without dyeing at all but my reason is due to illness; however, I actually like it. Then I find you! I love your look, your style and approach to beauty and makeup. You are delightful to me and I just have to THANK YOU for the great work you're doing here! 🥂cheers!
Hi Lisa, how’s your day going with you?
Hello Nikol! What is the brand of hair mist you used? That is a product I don't use, but would like to incorporate.
I am so glad I found your channel! You look gorgeous, and thank you for the amazing tutorials!
Your eyeshadow look today is amazing! I’m going to buy that palette!
This is such a nice look. I love the lip colored lipstick…and your hair!…gorgeous.
Glad you're back! Love everything and the lipstick is calling me. See you Monday and have the best weekend!

Hi Meredith, how’s your day going with you?
Hi Nikol. Jenny from South Africa here. Love your tutorials and have found them very helpful. Should I use a face primer before foundation
Your skin looks the best I’ve ever seen it w the Dior. Beautiful!
