      Till the eggs hatch don't do anything... If they feel scared they will eat the eggs... Also see few times if the eggs are catching fungus... Then add Mr blue... If the pair is fertile you don't need Mr. Blue.. The eggs will hatch.. This is just a support for the fishes

I dont know if they are both females as only one of them lays the eggs.been seeing them lay eggs and all of those eggs just turns white.so it means it isn't fertilized. What should i do?

    • @FwrapperAqua
      @FwrapperAqua  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi.. See that is the problem with breeding pairs.. Lots of them sell them just showing that they have layed eggs.. It's a confirmed pair only once the eggs hatch and the the babies attach to the parents... Like you said it can be 2 females.. Or the male is not fertile.. You need to get methylene blue an anti fungal liquid.. So you can support the eggs from turning white... But eggs also turn white if they are not fertilie..

    • @lexabuan6932
      @lexabuan6932 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I do have the methylene blue and i don't remember the name that stops fungos growing in ti the eggs and still it never works. So i suspect the other one is not a male. I have put them back into the discus community tank as i git tired hoping that the female canagain look for another male but they are just unseperable. They have been laying eggs in the community tank for 6times now. Exactly today is their 6th time. I'm pretty sure it isn't gonna be succesful again. Sad but what can i do really🙂

    First time i shifted my pair in a separate tank (70x40x45cm) after spawning 3x in a community tank and got eaten by others. Any suggestions? I have 6.0 pH in my community tank and now pair shifted into a 6.8-7.0pH. How long it will take for them to lay again?
    I dont have RO water. Can i use some of my main tank water?

    • @FwrapperAqua
      @FwrapperAqua  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The pH is fine.. You need to also have a Tds below 100 for breeding... Rest is all OK.. Now give them some time to settle in the new tank.. And get used to the place.. Only then will start breeding....

      I have made a video on how to clean a Discus breeding tank.. I use a very thin pipe and siphon out very careful... May be next time just before the eggs hatch you can clean the tank carefully.. So then you can leave the tank undisturbed till they attach on the parents...

    • @FwrapperAqua

      Hi... In a community tank its very difficult to get hatches.. Because the other fishes will eat up the eggs.. Even if that dose not happen... Once the eggs hatch the fries will go all over the tank... That time the other fishes might eat them... So very very difficult in a community tank

      See you need to wait and give it some time... Discus need to feel secure and safe before they start breeding... So give them sometime.. Avoid methyl blue.. Use only if the eggs are turning white... Main thing is you need to wait and see... I got success in breed after 11 or 12 times of laying eggs.. Don't worry... Keep tds below 100ppm

    Hello. I have a problem in begining steps of breeding. I'll be approciate if you help me.
    At first the pair take care of babies carefully until the first two days of free swimming (10 days overall) but, suddenly I don't know what happens! All of them disapears and the parent start to lay new eggs! If they eat their babies why they don't earlier! I don't know exactly what's need to do! I don't want to raise them in a separate tank.

    • @FwrapperAqua
      @FwrapperAqua  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hi... Some of the Discus pairs are like that.... If they start liking the taste of the babies they will eat them ... If the pair is a new pair and they are not happy with the babies health they will eat them.... Or if they feel scared and not feel safe they will eat them ... These are few that has happened to me while breeding.... So seperate the babies in another Tank and see...

      I feed 3 different foods, a home made mixed beefheart recipe, like jackwattlys. Frozen beefheart "store bought" and a flake food. I also have a spectrum pellet I crush up and add to the beef heart "store bought" with a mix of vitachem "add to both foods". I used to feed blood worms but I have stopped after hearing so many stories of discus getting sick from them.

    • @FwrapperAqua
      @FwrapperAqua  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      See firstly when they pair up you need to leave them in the community tank for some time.. I have said this in the video also.. Because they are a new pair and once they start guarding the eggs.. Their bond will increase.. So once they have layed eggs at least 4 to 6 times.. Then you separate them.. Also in the new tank if they don't feel secure.. They will never lay eggs..
