  • Another year is here and so are the Giant Bull Redfish. It took us a couple trips due to being impatient and going to early in the season but on the last trip we got it done and I hope you enjoy it. If you haven't experienced this I highly recommend it if your ever in the Jacksonville, Fl area in fall. Please send me any comments or questions and I'll be happy to help you out and as always thanks for watching and don't forget to check out truluvinfishing.com

    Great video! I fish that area often. I use live shrimp or finger mullet with light tackle with 120 yards of 20lb test with a 50lb leader. Trolling motor to chase em down!!! I understand your concern but we've never sent one floating. 😎

    Great fish. The torpedo is a great way to release them. Im from Jacksonville and know of the spot your at, its fairly deep. All the bull reds I have caught in the st johns you need to vent. Next time you catch one that big you should vent it for best chance of survival. You can find voutube videos on how to do it very easily.

      Literally zero reason to vent any fish caught in the St. John's. Especially if you have fought it to the boat so it had time to adjust itself and didn't just winch it straight up from the bottom.
      Venting is for bottom fish in 80+ft. That area of the river is 50ft tops.
      Venting is not even recommended anymore because it kills fish when not done right. Descending device is how to release those bottom fish now

    I fished in the same exact place in Jacksonville. I saw a huge red that was floating one day and barely moving. It was not released properly. I wish people would catch them and release them quickly with a quick photo to be done, not take a bunch of glamour shots with it. Imagine sprinting a mile and having your head stuck in the water for a few minutes to compare to what the fish may feel. I spent time reviving it and finally it swam off. The boats a few yards caught him/her but did not realize it floated back up. Great video, subscribed!

      Thanks for watching and saving that fish. Another issue is they fight those bulls with light tackle and extend the fight instead of adequate tackle to get them in quicker, revive and sent back down. Thanks for subscribing!

    I see that you're putting in A Sister Creek. My favorite Jacksonville Boat Ramp.

    • @truluvinfishing
      @truluvinfishing  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes that is one of my go to ramps, it offers access to quick inshore fishing and deep water as well!

      I like that ramp because they offer a free hose down station spickets to clean your boat and rinse the engine.

      I appreciate the compliment and you watching. I will share this, you are correct about the fall. I have rushed it and tried as early as late August and struck out. Late September and October are ideal. Focus on the river closer to the Mayport inlet at the tide swings. If you use the steps in the video you will catch them moving in and out.
