I use Aerospace 303 spray on all my pleather related stuff, just apply every few months with a paint brush 🤞🏻it’s worked well so far. Keep up the sterling work inspiring collectors and reviewers alike, take care of yourself and happy collecting!
There seems to be a lot of hate for this figure on the forums, but I think it looks great! It is significantly better looking than the first version
Been using 303 wipes on hot toys figures for many years. Worst really well on rubber and pleather. I have a hot toy Batman begins figure that is 14 years old. And thanks to 303. It is still in pristine shape. It is a good way to keep your investment safer overtime… I apply it once a month or every other month
Was curious if it’s possible 303 has a placebo effect and pleather longevity has more to do with the climate or environment?
In a non-humid environment, I noticed the pleather is perfectly fine on my figures (knock on wood) even after a decade but eventually flakes on my over-the-ear headphones, likely due to the transfer of oils and heat from skin. Whereas, I use gloves to handle the figures.
Best way to keep pleather prestine is not only climate but to not touch it without gloves and not to apply any chemicals.

I really like your honest review Dean and the way you review each hot toys figure giving the viewers another perspective. Thank you for that. I have this on pre-order and I am from the Netherlands so probably the same climate as were you live. Also nice how you did the pose with the hair. I was just thinking about doing that with mine just like on the cover box.
Somethings a little off with the portrait. I think it's the eyes, Hathaway has very distinctive brown eyes, and to date imo, only the 1/3 JND and 1/6 Queen Studios statues has nailed them.
Having said that, this is still a great looking Catwoman figure; very lifelike (the paint apps are more realistic), while the body looks more like that of a real woman, and the costume a better fit.
Awesome review Dean and that Batman looks sick on that diorama base that moment "You made a serious mistake, not as serious as yours".
It's really unfortunate that the 2.0 version isn't an improvement when compared to the original release. Hot Toys could've improved it, but they didn't. They still utilized the cheap and fragile pleather material. Aesthetically, it's a gorgeous figure. However, when it comes to durability and longevity, not so much. I bought the original figure over 1 year ago or so and I've kept it in the box the entire time. However, I took it out of the box a couple of days ago so I can look at it for a little bit. My hands were dry and my right thumb was a little rough because of the dryness. I ran my thumb over the arm just slightly and the pleather got damaged a little bit. That's all it took. It's very frustrating for sure. You definitely made a great point. You don't have money to just throw away and nor do I. I can't simply go out and buy another Hot Toys Catwoman figure because the one that I currently own got damaged a little bit. Whenever you buy an expensive collectible it should last a long time. That should be the norm, but it isn't unfortunately. Otherwise, thanks, Dean! As always, I appreciate the hard work, dedication, and passion! Keep it up! God bless and stay safe!
Looks good. the headsculpt is ok. single bend arms is a deal breaker for me, there is 0 reason to use them. I buy 1/6 figures to pose and photograph them, and when a figure is not fun to pose, I quickly loose interest. single bend arms is ok if it is a figure with short sleeves, but for long sleeves why not use double bend. I'll buy this if it is on sale, but if it sells out before it goes on sale, I'll just forget about it.

I'm picking her up, do have the original release in not so good of a shape and even though I figured this 2.0 would lack certain things, she looks gorgeous and can't wait to have her in hand.

Great review! I might pick her up soon. Yes, 303 works well with Hot Toys pleather/leather/vinyl suits. I personally use the wipes one, much easier to control than spray.
That sucks, it looked very promising too. The only immediate worry I'd have is the gloves and boots, replacing that would extend the lifetime of this piece by many years
Great review! I had the first release also, and right on the cusp of it starting to deteriorate, I sold her. I miss her also, as this is a sexy figure! Nice to know you like this one better...so far...

I have the original and it’s still in perfect shape. Pro tip, for newer collectors: Do not move her around much. Museum pose only, if you want the outfit to last.
Yeah 303 I use on my crow and t2 figures has uv protection too 😊
This figure and set really is a mixed-bag. As nice as it looks, there is no excuse for the shoddy glove and boot materials, that's the QC standard you'd expect from low tier third party offerings. A second, unmasked, head sculpt should have been included, given the paltry number of accessories. And the omission of adjustable eyes rankles now that the majority of Hot Toys figures include this feature. Hopefully we see Inart or the likes of Mars Toys having go at this character.
I remember those deterioration vids… I fear the same fate for my Aquaman. I was never a fan of this catwoman but it definitely looks better. 🤞🏼

You finally got the New Hot Toys Cat Woman in the Palm of your Hands. I could see why. Number one, she's Jaw dropping Film Accurately Stunning. And two, Selina Kyle has the right Fair skin tone, just like in The Dark Knight Rises (2012) Movie. It's not 💯% Perfect but Hot Toys finally nailed it right so far, this time around. On the shoulder I don't think it's the vest but the arm seam, looks like the usual connection they use for many female bodies. But the arm should move easily. Maybe it was an item with qc issues and that's why it was cheaper. You had courage buying from somebody with 5 reviews :)))
I own the 1.0 and will be sticking with it.
The issue i have with the 2.0 is the head sculpt should be better than it is.
Maybe some day Hot Toys will offer a 3.0 ..or maybe InArt will deliver the goods ^_^
In my collection i own just one 1/1 bust, and it is the Infinity Studio TDKR Catwoman, and the likeness is 100% on point.
The Hot Toys 2.0 - The zipper looks off center?
When comparing the 1.0 to the 2.0 you should have added the mask to the 1.0 to make a fair comparison. I can see only 3 positives with he 2.0 and that's the thicker thighs, the lighter paint app to the portrait, and the sheen on the outfit.
Another great detailed review. I got this one on PO and still excited to get it despite my concerns about the suit over time. I do agree that base is a huge selling point and the dx19 looks great on it! Great work 🤙🫡

Those scrapes look awful, what QC employee passed that one through the green light pile. HT are awful these days, cheap materials and no care for certain lines. Could you imagine them treating a Star Wars character like this, I doubt it
I used 303, got bored of the gloves/boots peeling, removed it all off, picked up a glossy black acrylic, and then used a clear sealer on them, as for the suit, deterioration set in, I coated the OG suit in Modge Podge and in the gap tear, I dry brushed a matt black acrylic and Modge Podged the whole suit....Stupid but it stopped the rot. The OG is a terrible figure by Hot Toys.

I missed out on the original release and was hoping the 2.0 version would solve the suit issue, but I can't justify buying her with the suit having the same issues. It kills me but Hot Toys dropped the ball on this release. Easy pass for me. I hope your version lasts a long time.
Incredibly awful choice from Hot Toys to not use a one piece body like a Phicen. The catsuit looks horrid from the back! Wow! That being said, thanks for the video. I did make the body swap and made such a difference! Though it was very hard to make it fit. Hot Toys, some times live in another world and miss terribly. Can't wait for an American company to be formed here to compete with them.
which HT Catwoman head would you prefer if making a custom? older or new one?
I know you shouldn't have to bit you can undo the glove sleeve and use it a s apattern to make new sleeves and replace - only way to fix
How long did the 1.0 last before the suit started flaking?
Im gonna clear coat the boots and arms. Maybe the whole thing, but for a while, I'll use 303 on the top part. I agree with everything you said in the video. It's a shame. They should have used real leather like my loga. Jacket and charge me 80 bucks more i don't, as long as it lasts. I do have 2 bane's coming. I'm glad cause now they are wait listed where i shop.
no head swapping with the 1.0 ?? D: I repainted my 1.0 and been hoping someone finally shows how compatible they both are...
Thanks for the review! The body proportions are better, sad to see the zipper is not functional like the 1.0. Body swapping might be needed down the road, and it'll be more difficult now.

Doesn't look great imo, Will skip this. They need to the head sculpt on point imo and this certainly isn't, especially when you can't even remove the goggles
You can remove the googles. I'm pretty sure he talked about it and showed it in the video 😆

You're right. I believe that Hot Toys did this so that collectors wouldn't be breaking the goggles when switching between the two looks, and also to keep the hair in place.
For the money they're asking for and with the very tight number of accessories, they should include a different sculpt without the catmask, and with a different expression.
@@dangiambrone7350pity they didn't just get the head sculpt on point with a removable mask. Would have got one but with a underwhelming head sculpt, I'll pass. With these they ruin it if they don't make the head sculpt the best bit and clearly that's not the case here. Imo anyway
You can remove the whole mask. The head sculpt looks better when you can see her while face. Watch Justin's review to see it.
