Due to the nature of the topics covered and discussion/criticism of companies + brands in the sewing industry, it is challenging to monetize this channel. Most influencer contracts require a non-disparagement clause, meaning you can't say anything negative or even remotely critical about the brand. This is a large reason why you don't see a lot of reporting on the sewing + crafts industry. Remaining as independent as possible allows me to maintain editorial + creative freedom.
JoAnn’s in Franklin TN only have two people working in entire store it was spooky, some of the lights are out… floor all dirty! do not even start me on bathrooms , poor management and inflation will be the end of Joann’s 😢 Any time they concentrate more on the diversity instead of quality is a bad sign!
P.S. yes also got fabric online it was cut short ..
In decades of sewing I never knew until 2 years ago that there was no time limit on returns and that fabric by the yard is returnable. I, like you, would have thought that a company facing bankruptcy would have limited returns and refunds.
why would they sell replacement ottlite bulbs when you could just buy a new ottlite...i had to throw one away recently because I couldnt get replacement bulbs for an older ottlite.
I worked at Joann from 2015-2019, we definitely did have a time limit for return but it could be over written. They always took a return without receipt. If you don't have a receipt, the computer will assume you bought the item at whatever the best sale price was in the last 90 days, not full price unless it's always been full price in that 90 day.
Kohls on the other hand used to not have a time limit and had a no questions asked policy and omg that was a nightmare. I definitely had one woman who took full advantage of that policy in the most disgusting way possible.
There has always been a return on cut fabric. it has to be measured, if any is missing, it can't be refunded. if it's over a yard it goes back on the bolt and if it's less, it becomes a remnant.
I'm glad they see fit to reward and promote this woman. Meanwhile, my local Phoenix, Arizona store has had no air conditioning for all of July, during daily triple digit temperatures. I visited today and cycled between wanting to pass out or throw up from the extreme heat in the store. To be fair, they did place two robotic looking fans for the employees, one at the fabric cutting station and the other at the check out counter. Unfortunately, both weren't producing any cool air, just noise. This store has been remodeled and had so much visual promise. They clearly don't have enough employees to keep up , boxes are stacked everywhere, merchandise shelves are empty ( no Gutermans poly thread). The designer wedding fabric section that was put in half a year ago is now being disassembled, all the signage removed in a rough way. I think they have lost the plot ( unless you want to buy some cheap Halloween junk from China, there is plenty of that) .
Pretty much the same here in in Central NY with stocking. Employees are not to blame. We have a leaky roof with garage pails to catch the drips.. But that is a landlord problem.
@@cynthiavirissimo457 yes Joann’s @Franklin TN have similar issues, all the bright lights is glitching haft the store is strobing some of the lights long time dead nobody maintains the stores anymore!
I work at Joann return fabric will return to the bolt and resold as customer needs until it become a remnant
I use to work at JoAnns, a remnant is usually under a yard in length.
The receipts become unreadable after a few months because the ink fades away.
I wondered why almost all the long term employees have disappeared from the store. I always wanted to be waited on by a 6 foot tall guy with fake nails and makeup from the school of Tammy Fay Baker school of self improvement who doesn’t know the difference between quilting and serger thread.
I went to joannes this week fir the first time in months because their ac iui s either broken or not on. Lots of empty shelves, very disheveled, and i have never seen the floor so filthy. Seems like they dimmed the lighting too. They run these stores into the ground after they bought out cloth world.
