  • I had a rough start with mustang Sparrow during her first week. Between the snow and cold, and me being outside for hours, it was brutal. Sparrow was very fearful so I decided to call in some help. I think you'll like who I brought in ;)

Sparrow and Freeda are so cute together, look at that little mustang! I could be wrong but at first wasn't Freeda like sparrow with Libby? Look who is doing the role modeling now, I love that little horse so much!!

Oh my gosh, your right! I hadn’t thought about it, but yes! Freeda use to hide behind Libby and was emboldened by Libby for sure! She’s come full circle now 💜

@@TheProjectEquestrian Do you think Freeda gained even more confidence from hanging out with your domestic horses?

@@SmM33380 Hmm, that's a good question. I'm sure at some level they did, but it wasn't as dramatic as this time around with her and Sparrow.

Wow, Freeda is quite the show off ! I've found that older horses are helpful of building a bridge to learning. . They are mentors. My dogs are like that with the older ones teaching the younger and new ones the ropes.

Smart adjustment! I know the feeling of getting stuck where I'm thinking, "This is what I know. This has worked before. So now what?!" It's like some horses are running their own game of pressure and release... Wrong answer. Wrong answer. Wrong answer. Then, there ya go, you figured out what works with me! 😄

Great video! It’s good to hear a true perspective. Glad Freeda could help, nice intuition you had there, seeing sparrow and her reactions.

Little Freeda! Look at her teaching the older mare the ropes of being confident with humans! Sparrow is definitely coming around on her own time and that’s ok 💗☺️ (the two of them are such cute little buddies, Freeda looks like she’s in her element lol 😂💓)

This was so terrific! Seeing the title, that you had to get help, I didn't expect it to be Freeda! What an awesome surprise and good idea! I loved that this worked and it does make sense as to why it would. It's really awesome to see Freeda happily stepping up in the role and being a great example as well! Thanks for being real about the ups and downs. I'm really looking forward to the next video!

Sooo cute! Sparrow is coming on well, for saying it is so cold, and in my opinion you are training her well. Don't compare her with Freda and Libby, as Sparrow is an adult😃

Maybe a smaller pen would help with what you are doing. And what you are doing is a great job. I think training a completely wild mustang is the ultimate in horsemanship and you are doing exactly what you should be doing to be a great trainer in the near future. Beautiful.
