I really like how we get a different perspective with your wife! Its really unique to see people try foods your familiar with; Even when i started getting into south asian food and sweet breads soaked in sugar. somethings you dont like because it just isnt in your country. Your tastebuds are different
I'm not Mexican but I am Californian, and I've been eating tacos for longer than I care to admit. Those tacos look seriously legit. When ya gonna invite me over? 🤣
I almost skipped past the cooking part just to see her response/reactions...lol I love that she's open to trying new things & respectful even if she doesn't like them. It's refreshing how genuine she seems 😊
Hahah I’m Mexican and I love the fact that the dad said “It’s very weird” haha we would probably think the same of there food like sweet avocado 🥑 ? Hahha but I’ll love to try!
Quan, you have a winner with the wife trying new foods videos. They are hilarious, the wing video had me dying. Reminds me of my parents. Keep up the great content.
Hi 👋🏼 I am really enjoying how you are introducing your new wife to a new cuisine and she's open and honest about whether she likes it or not. I also think you're a very smart business man. I'm fascinated!!
Love this vid! Mexican foods is one of my all time favorites. I love the way he said he is going to take her to Mexico to taste authentic Mexican cuisine. Love it! Great vid you guys! Keep chowing down
Perks of American tastebuds you can eat all different cuisines and know what’s your favorite from each of them. It’s something we might take for granted. Very interesting to see someone else she their first impressions of another cultural food that is pretty basic to you. Makes me want to explore more foods from around the world.
Add some lime juice to your guacamole. Will help to keep it from browning. If you make a bigger batch and have leftovers, add the pit to the mix. It will also help to keep it from browning. I always squeeze some juice over the top as well.
Try this way of marinating for her... salt ,pepper, garlic, cumin, half lime, half sour orange juice. Marinate 4 hrs. Cook it on gas or charcoalgrill. No sour cream, get some queso fresco. Pico de gallo with cilantro and the green salsa you made. Thats all you need. Use whatever tortilla you prefer.
Hello Quang, I can see how you enjoy carne asada tacos, speaking from the Mexican culture, for soft shell tacos we don’t actually put sour cream on them we put salsa, cilantro, lemon/lime, and onion. Also if you are really into tacos, then there’s more than just carne asada, recommendations: try chorizo and al pastor, they are really good!!!
@@KathysellsCalifornia He did though. He's completely moved from Canada to Vietnam (at least, for the time being). He's staying with his wife for the indefinite future.
She said it tastes like Indian because that's her only reference to dried spices so far...she's not used to the cumin used in the spices. Vietnamese people don't use dried spices (aside from our few curried dishes) like Indians so for her tasting cumin is "Indian".
As a Mexican/ American Carne Asada is best cooked with salt 🧂 and pepper to get that natural flavor. Followed by a homemade red and green salsa and natural guacamole just a bit of salt 🧂 and pepper.
I’m a Californian and I don’t love tacos. There I said it. I definitely grew to like it more than before. I used to really not like the taco shell. Grew up Asian and it was weird to me at first. Started liking it after a lotta tries and now it’s pretty good to me
Yep, I had to grow to tolerate it, too. I like it now, but I don't rave or love it like many in the US. I prefer other ethnic cuisines over Mexican, though. I love Cajun, Mediterranean, and Middle Eastern along with Thai, Laotian, and Vietnamese, of course. Mexican, Korean, and Indian are further down on my list for likes.
That’s crazy we eat their food all the time but they never had our Mexican food thank you for tasting it And enjoying it because we enjoy your food too thank you Quan
nice, the $400 perfect tacos my guy! so good... and your wife's "sour" reaction is hilarious, even more funny is her reacting to your reactions, and even funnier is she doesn't like the tacos at all hahaha or well, she just isn't used to it, not used to the heavy paprika and cumin... but wait a 7??? that seemed like a high number tho. i bet those were bussssin
What should I cook my wife next?!

I respect her for trying it! Me being Mexican I think you did a good job on this! Props to you!
Next time instead of the store bought green salsa you should use tomatillos. That’s the way to go!

I love that she's trying new cuisines even if she doesn't like some of them. That's OK, the important thing is that she is willing to try.

I've been around picky eaters who literally just eat chicken tenders and fries, so Quang's wife is already lightyears ahead lol

FYI if you add a pinch of baking soda to the salsa Verde it will get rid of the acidity of the green tomatoes
