Dw did code on contract but as of now Koil and NP have no contract with him stateing all contract work done would be owned by NP. Basically all the civ jobs, mdw, heist and many other stuff was created by his code and may need to be removed

IT also argues that TOVE/DW never filed a Copyright Registration. THeir argument which started out about copy right is now being bait and switched to declaratory relief and potential defamation. Neither of which are valid arguments in a federal jurisdiction. Because the claim is actually about copyright and because the copyright was never registered with the courts... it's likely this motion will be accepted and the case will get dismissed so koil will win on legal technicality. That's why you pay good lawyers though,
Those were the ones from june, the one from yesterday proves that dw and them never filed for copyright on their shit and yet they're suing for copyright they really fucked themselves over, they have no case rn its probably gonna get thrown out on a technicality. That's how trademarks work, but not copyright.Writing code is like writing an essay, or making a painting, or composing music -- it's not like plumbing or landscaping. The creator retains creators' rights unless they are compensated specifically in exchange for those rights. Even the comments you write on TH-cam are automatically copyrighted by you (which is why the TOS you agreed to before using the site has to explicitly give Google a host of rights to them as well).

At that point you need to have your copyright registered for the purposes of the court,which dw and whoever else did not do. Court proceedings are a precise thing and you have to do it properly and since they didn't there is a massive possibility it just gets thrown out. At least to my knowledge, I'm no lawyer.
