This part is a strong contender for the most emotional I've gotten by any game, or heck, any piece of fiction really. From getting imprisoned again untill the end of the chapter is just one long sequency of slowly losing any hope you have left. You keep thinking that _surely_ they're going to find a way out of this, _surely_ they aren't actually going to go through with it. But the clock just keep ticking, and the eventual deadline we've known since the first chapter just keeps ketting closer...
I just find it really funny and poetic how Dee, a huge Final Fantasy fanboy has become a fanboy to Xenoblade, a series made by a game studio that used to work with the guys who made Final Fantasy
You damn bet that when I entered the prison I screamed: "For Ghooondoooooor". Great playthrough Dee, thank you so much for playing this beautiful story.
Playing this the first time, I didn't cry. But only because I literally couldn't process the sheer emotional weight of it. It came out slowly over the week after.
For those that haven't seen it on the VODs, get the popcorn ready! And if you have watched it on the VODs already, get another bag of popcorn ready for a second viewing!
These cutscene reactions are great. When I miss streams and haven't been able to catch up with the VODs yet, these let me keep up with story progress so I can jump back in whenever I can catch a stream.
yeah, i mean Takahashi himself has said that he likes a lot to put emphasis on how expressive eyes are, since it can say a lot without words... damn i'm sad again, can't wait to get depressed at 60fps while replaying this on my switch 2 :D
Probably one the best chapters in any video game I've played, the range of emotions you feel from the wholesome moment with the baby to the hopelessness when the party is imprisoned. Man....
One of the reasons the end of this chapter hits so hard is because the developers made SURE to give you control when you were imprisoned the first time, even though it was just short menial tasks. When they ripped away that control and had you watch through the cutscene at the end, you were as helpless as Noah felt.
2:15:41 Slight spoliers Can we appreciate how *one word* "my" is so brilliantly implanted into Mio's line. Like as a first-time player, you have no clue what she means by "My Noah" but after playing it you get the hint as that bit of foreshadowing for whats to come at homecoming.
The infamous chapter that if I recall the internet all carried the same reaction towards certain scenes. Crazy time back when the game was new ahahah
The vocal theme that plays in the jail scene is “A Step Away,” composed by Yasunori Mitsuda and sung by Sara Weeda of the Irish choir ANÚNA.
Another W for the Irish
"It's good to keep a record!"
“Of your death?!”

The part with the baby hits differently now that my child is born. The feeling of the little hand around one's finger is...simply precious.
Xenoblade 3 Ch 5-6 is the emotional climax of the entire series. All games are emotional rollercoasters but 3 hits you like a tank.
I feel like RE8's shadows of rose dlc is more emotional, but eveline ruins the moment
ah, another morsel for my sick past time of watching people go through Chapter 5
My toxic trait is watching people play the end of chapter 5
Moebius behaviour
Truly, we all yearn for the Endless Now.
Dude's definitely sitting in the same theater as Z watching the end.
How many times has it been now?

The script for Xenogears was originally going to be the script for FFVII
"It's good to keep a record" bro 😭
Seeing reactions to chapter 5 is one of my favorite things

CHAPTER 5…..
All The Xenoblade games have that heart breaking moment in their stories. This is for Xenoblade 3. 😭
"your a off seer right so pick it up and send her" is so vile its one of the most vile lines I've seen a villain mutter in a game
Many games have that once scene that game bring a tear to one's eye.
Xenoblade 3 has several, and every damn time it's a gut punch. 😭
I've taken harder hits than anything this game has thrown my way. It only hurts if you think deep enough about what's happening
For those that haven't seen it on the VODs, get the popcorn ready! And if you have watched it on the VODs already, get another bag of popcorn ready for a second viewing!
I have 3 bags of chips with me
@airtiger4577 Good substitute!

2:23:15 I always tear up here when it zooms in on her eyes. This game shows the eyes of characters in a beautiful and moving way 😢

Oh chapter 5 my beloved... can't wait to see the rest of em! Your adventure has been great to witness
Absolute cinema
After all my playthroughs after all the reactions I've watched My Noah still gets me every time

ah, good ol’ chapter 5. It’s good to keep a record :)

The way I couldn't stop crying, this chapter was gut-wrenching
Peak gaming every year game of the year
I'm not crying, you're crying
*Cough Cough* Algorithms *Cough Cough*
Me : start singing A Step Away.

Caught up. What a journey (to see yours). Just recently have I finished this game for my 2nd playthrough on Hard Mode. Still, it gets me everytime😢
God, Harry Mcentire killed it as N

Its a weird gleeful joy. To see everyone playing this game having the exact same reaction of this chapter and what follows up. Myself included.
It's just so PEAK!!!!
Chapter 5's ending is so legendary.
2:15:41 annnnd there's the killing blow to my heart
