One of the downside when you buy from bazar ramadan is not all but many hawkers don't do it as a fulltime job so that's why some foods doesn't taste very good. They just sell it when in ramadan to get an extra income. If you know local hawkers that sell the foods as a fulltime job in pasar malam and also sell it in bazar ramadan then you know it'll taste good.

Not only that, they themselves cannot taste test the food when preparing it. Unless they do measurement , the taste is less than tasty. My malay friends told me. They would rather cook themselves at home.

    • @littlediana6423

Yes. Normally it's like that... Some sellers are people who runs restaurant or food stalls full-time during other months and their food tastes good...

Some fritters like jackfruit or even banana are best to eat while they're still hot and the batter part is still crunchy... you guys eating those inside McDonald's 😆.. On contrary, Tepung Pelita is good and comforting if you eat it cold that's why it stands out than other foods 😁
After Ramadan, I hope you guys can go to night market/street food places and try some of those fried foods again right after you bought them, I think it could be a slightly different experience.. btw thank you for respecting the local Ramadan culture, it's probably unusual for people who're not familiar with it

    Cempedak also is called Jackfruit.
Maybe in Malay there's 2 type of Jackfruit
    Cempedak and Nangka.
Cempedak is good in fried. So with the seeds.
Meanwhile Nangka might not suitable for fried.

Cempedak has no English name but it is one type of jackfruit. Pisang tanduk is not sweet like pisang emas. Usually it is fried. Pisang awak is the best type for frying compared to tanduk because it is sweeter than pisang tanduk.

Not every food has the same taste at Bazaar Ramadan. You may find it better or worst than the other. I've experienced no Gula Melaka in Onde Onde before and it really pissed me off 😆 Try find small ones rather than bigger Onde2. The more you eat Onde2 you will know which one is better jst by looking at it. As for fried items & Apam Balik, shld ate them when they are hot!
