I built London landmarks out of LEGO, AT the landmarks themselves, including Tower Bridge, Big Ben, Buckingham Palace, Trafalgar Square, Piccadilly Circus, the Tube, a Routemaster Bus, Doctor Who, The Beatles, Sherlock Holmes, William Shakespeare, Cruella, Peter Pan, The Olympics, and LOADS MORE!

I remember doing the large Big Ben Lego set with my grandpa, it took us a few weeks to build but it looked awsome, and we where very proud of it. It is a memory I will always cherish.
That's simply amazing. I can't believe you built the bus on a bus; that's not a quick build! I've built most of those sets as well, but just on my dining room table.
Given you're heading to Paris...well, I won't spoil, but if you're doing what I imagine you're going to do...wow.
Thanks a lot! The bus on a bus was actually one of the easiest - I got to seat down on a comfy seat with a lap-tray - some of the more public / exposed ones like Buckingham Palace were a lot more difficult and fiddly. Still, great fun. Paris will be a good one... :)

0:27 this is actually one of the biggest reasons castle fans were upset when Lego got rid of the old grays - their yellowish undertone makes them look more like weathered stone masonry (ironically the new ones are called "stone gray").
In my next video I will be building a 1 to 1 replica of the UK out of Lego!
I'm trying to picture Chris walking around, carrying a LEGO model, trying to avoid dropping it, staging the photos , arranging things with people, getting stared at, and… 1:55 oh, okay, that confirms it. 😂 People usually forget the behind-the-scenes effort.

I stumbled across your videos a few years back with the rollercoaster ones and I haven't left. I truly love the silly, quirky, "cheap" feel of the videos but know they are far from cheap and the work is involved is insane. It makes it look like any of us could make and it's incredible

I recently got the Big Ben set for a very good price at a Third Party Lego Store and it is one of my favorite pieces in my entire collection

The stop-motion building of Trafalgar Square at 0:58 is fake, sort of. My original real take was unusable, but when I returned to refilm it, there was a huge stage set up in the square. Instead, I filmed it in my garden to match the outdoor lighting, and superimposed it on top of a timelapse I had
My custom Tube train is based on the Victoria Line's 2009 stock. It's exceptionally fragile and can't actually turn corners due to the carriages being too long"

About colors of Tower bridge, Maybe they wanted to do it the way it looked when it was built, what I know a lot of the old London buildings originally had slightly different shades of facade but the years of weather and air pollution (mostly from cars) changed their colour

i used to watch every video of this channel a few years ago. However, times changed, and i started getting lesser and lesser time. The reason why they made the Lego set basis is because one time back in the 1950s actual London Bridge was made out of Base bricks just over the time it just kind of lost its code into the sunlight

Chris, looking at your field notes, don't you have bogie plates for the carriages? It's a bit of a dim and distant memory for me, but I'm almost certain I had bogie plates with a roundel of studs in the middle which pivoted in the smooth-topped surrounding part. They fitted to the bottom of long plates proportioned like a real-life carriage. The long plates had taller than normal sides but the center was only a normal plate thick, so there was a limit to how far the bogie plate could pivot. I guess that's realistic. It certainly made the long plates strong. But all this was in the 80s and I've heard Lego trains have changed since then.

I own all 3 Sydney Opera House sets (the big one, the small one and the really tiny one in the Sydney Skyline set) but do to it would mean actually visiting the dump that is Sydney :)

You inspired me to start my own TH-cam channel. I used to have an orange cat named Sprinkles, and Reggie reminds me so much of her. Ralph and Bella (the loaf of bread) are great actors and actresses, and I loved Tom Hanks! They’re all sweeties! I now have a cat named Lady Gaga, and she is crazy! I love legos and creativity! I'm going to have to side with Lego on this one. The true colour of Tower Bridge is somewhere between grey and beige, but they chose beige to make it look more interesting. You're right about the Tube train though. Having just spent the last few minutes trying to find out if there ever were beige Tube trains, and the closest I found was some 1959 Stock that was painted white at one point, but they looked far better when they were red!
