The gaps in the systems and available information is going to be the failure of this intervention by government. Which registration is government referring to, the CIPC business registration, how do you reregister, is it the for the permit issued by the municipality for a household to conduct business on a residential property, how do you reregister since this permit has not validity end period, what does reregistration mean and who and where do the shop owners go to
I dont get it. U own that store and u go to the city Municipality to register it takes few hrs. Why thinking off having more than the 21 days already given as a lianiancy to register. Infact most had more than 20yrs operating without paying taxes draining SA economy and they still want favours. Its either this folk go to his Munipality to register or leave leave the Spaza to SA that want to register the shop. It doesn't take too long to register at the Municipality offices. Shut the shop down go register it takes 2 to 3hrs to register especially having your ID's with yall and the allowable fees know. All this Spaza business owners know about the registration off business they just ignored it making money and not paying taxes now they want more time than the given 21 days favour. Infact it should have been 14days not 21 Days. No ways the gov will be waiting for 3 months to 6months to register that means u don't have SA papers to operate and just buying time to do lots off crime and fraud inotder to get all the paper work in place. Go get your papers done and apply accordingly.
Overlooking the fact that people in the 1960s/70s didn’t have the same opportunities we do today shows a bit of insensitivity. For instance, banks had a hard time getting people to use ATMs for deposits, as many elderly individuals preferred the security of handing deposits directly to bank tellers instead of using machines. Finding ways to support these businesses and easing their transitions could contribute to a more equitable economic environment.
This old man is from South Africa mos. LESOTHO people are South Africans. I regard Lesotho and Swaziland as South Africa because they are literally situated inside South Africa.
This foreigners they must not kill him thats what am scared for they want to be the only one who run spaza shops seriously I don't know what is wrong with Ramaphosa
Let’s be real, Spaza shops owners often focused on providing essential goods rather than operating like typical startups. It’s a tough situation for them, I can imagine the shock they will experience, especially during tax season when SARS imposes penalties for late submissions. And let’s not forget the challenges faced by street vendors who now have to adapt to new regulations when all their efforts are geared towards survival in the face of hunger and the welfare of their families. Iit's a lot to ask of them to adjust to these changes without proper guidance and support all at once!
@@mduduzidliwayo very true. Everyone wants to say Street Vendors even though they are mentioned in the report. But safeguarding our children means also being strict with those who pack skopas and snack into smaller plastics. Bcoz those items can be taken home and stored in areas where contamination can take place.
Growing up , we used to have lots of locally owned Spaza shops that bought their stock from respected Wholesalers..They'd asked abit more on their prices because they bought from legal Wholesalers but we never gotten sick from their goods. These other foreign nationals buy stock from other foreign nationals hence why you see these weird name brands and you don't know how they get it into the country. They only fund eachother by passing locals..Process should be easier for locals hence they have citizenship and just have to process their permits. Now is the time for locals to start their own businesses to get the ball rolling while these foreigners run around
Education on the regulation of tuckshops is needed without forgetting awareness to the consumers. 21days is indeed not enough to regulate all the spaza shops,I Suggest all spazas be closed for 90 days , there after start a clean page, with 60% spaza shops south African owned .moreover a by law can be put in place where by a foreigner to operate spaza he must go in partnership with a south African citizen
South AFRICA AND SOUTH AFRICANS FIRST. NO DEBATE

3 months is no longer a state of emergency that the Municipalities have asked the Government to declare.... emergency means 21 days response.
