In 1960, the SDP 60 Gonkiewicza heavy anti-tank self-propelled gun project appeared in Poland. A well-armored vehicle had to have decent mobility indicators. To do this, it was planned to install a powerful but compact engine, developed on the basis of one of the early versions of the GTD-1 gas turbine engine with an estimated power of 1000 hp. Documentation on it was provided by the Soviet side, which also familiarized their Polish colleagues with materials on deep-rifled guns, on the basis of which they developed their line of guns. In general, the project can be called successful, but due to the high cost, it was never implemented.
