Canonically, Eirin is *much* more powerful than Kaguya, but never shows her full power to make Kaguya look better.
Well, eirin maybe is stronger than yukari i think.... You know, yukari power is overestimate.
Yukari lost when she invade lunarian.
Watatsuki sisters is strong but every lunarian invention include lunarian defense at moon is eirin creation.
Yukari can't breach lunarian defense so easiliy and lunarian technology seems to stagnate after eirin and kaguya expulsion so... the lunarian is nothing without the sage of lunar.

To give some belated background on the meme: Eirin is considered the harder boss (if you're going for 1cc at least, you can't continue Kaguya), as well as lorewise hella powerful, (the spell she used to create the incident is noted to be nowhere near the full extent of her power, she's implied to be Shinto god of knowledge Omoikane, also known as YA-GOKORO-omoi-kane-no-mikoto, and was mentor to the Watstsuki sisters Yorihime and Toyohime, who could solo win against Reimu + Marisa + Sakuya + Remillia, and Yukari, respectively. She's also one of the founders of the lunar capital, was responsible for the trap that gave Yukari no end of trouble during the first genso-lunar war, and probably quite a few other things i forgot to mention) easily smarter and stronger than Kaguya by far, going as far to hold back as to not embarrass her (and yet still being a harder boss). As such, fandom likes to joke about how Kaguya is completely dependent on Eirin, calling out "Help me, Eirin!" whenever she runs into any sort of hardship. While she probably is dependent on Eirin for lots of things (even moreso if Tewi and Reisen aren't around), she's not quite as helpless as fandom likes to make her out to be.

Gensokyo dwellers usually don't bother to go even close to their full power as well+the spell card rules won't let them go full postal anyway.
Watstsuki sisters are more serious, but far too smug about their powers.
In fact they are so smug, that Yukari won the second war without... well... the war itself.
Remilia merry band mostly chilled during the "invation", while Yorihime called gods to aid her in battle.
Plus Eirin warned them abot everything beforehand.
And nowing the great troll Yukari, she probably got what she wanted during the first war, but the loss is a loss.
Though the second things've gone south for the lunar empire, they quickly took Gensokyo hostage to save their tale,
so they escaped traditional "Gensokyo's traditional troublemaker beating", while fully deserving one.
So Gensokyo isn't as helpless as you say.
P.S.
Kaguya doesn't need to be stronger.
1. She is truly immortal.
2. Why bother to fight yourself, when you have loyal subjects?

I never said Gensokyo was helpless, and honestly, the lunar terraform plan of Gensokyo was doomed to fail when the one at the helm was Sagume, ms - "The second i explain my plans they literally can't work." The early game enemies were from the moon and certainly took a beating for causing trouble, then the ones who drove the lunararians got a beating, and all was good.
Plus, the lunar gods are probably stronger. Sure, Remi's band may not have gone "all out", but Yorihime dunked on everyone except Reimu, who also channeled gods, tossed around impure attacks to put Yorihime on the defensive as Yorihime couldn't let those attacks reach the moon, and still lost to Yorihime. Note that Yorihime was also acting under spellcard rules, and it was her first time doing so (she agreed to go for their tradition of nonlethal conflict to settle things). If she wasn't, it's made clear that she would have killed them all except Reimu who Eirin explained could be used to clear her name. (sure, channeling gods is super no-chill in a spellcard duel, but hey it's within the confines of the rules)
I never said Kaguya needs to be stronger, just Eirin is stronger than Kaguya.
Yukari isn't quite as brokenly OP as some speculation suggests, but she makes up for it by being full of "all according to plan" and completing her objective of the second Genso - Lunar war without winning a single confrontation, and starting the first lunar was a win win - either curb the youkai's desire for expansion with a huge loss, or take over the moon. She still does hold a grudge against the sage of the moon despite all this, and is unaware that it's Erin. (she did count on Erin reporting back to the moon princesses, but only because she assumes Erin is a spy).
The lunarians are stuck up enough and gensokyo's locals strong enough that there really isn't reason to fear lunar takeover, and the one admittedly well thought out attempt was out of desperation and still ultimately didn't work. The lunar capital is now in the dream realm as of the end of LoLK

Reimu just learned to summon gods, so it was a battle of master vs beginner summoner. Plus she powered up a rocket the whole time, so she was pretty tired.
So yeah, one side is too stuck up prideful pricks to learn on their own mistakes, and the other side is a bunch of happy-go-lucky psychopaths, that would rather chill, than go to war.

@@winsonzhu4427 Sagume made the plan fail on purpose because the Lunarians didn't actually want to relocate to Gensokyo, that was just a threat to force Reimu and the others to beat up Junko for them (and a plan B in case Reimu failed). ZUN said in an interview that if the Lunarians had really wanted to relocate, they could have purified the entire planet and killed everyone before anyone even realized it.
"Hmm, would the Lunarians continue to sleep, or would they do a full-blown relocation of the capital to Gensokyo...? Would they completely overtake Gensokyo? In that case, there wouldn't be any living things in Gensokyo, and that would affect the outside world, too. That would end up causing the purification of the planet. Since she didn't want to do that, she only threatened to purify Gensokyo."
"If the Lunar Capital had tried to relocate without fighting, then Gensokyo's inhabitants would have disappeared before they realized."
So yeah, Gensokyo is kinda helpless against the Lunarians.

Eirin in some ways is The Medic from TF2 I feel. I mean, both are doctors, I'm sure Eirin lost her medical license when she escaped the moon with Kaguya, both discovered immortality, assuming Eirin created the Hourai Elixir, and Medic's ÜberCharge is self-explanatory, and both are insane. (I mean, one outplayed the devil, the other covered up the moon with a fake moon and caused an incident, not to mention is also assumed to be a former resident of the Lunatic Kingdom.)
This song will never get old. This song as well as other BeatMario/COOL&CREATE and other legendary doujin artists like IOSYS and such pretty much shaped the Touhou community into what it is today. Also if it weren’t for them this community wouldn’t also be as popular as it currently is. Thank You BeatMario!

Watching this and reading moon inaba just makes me see her as eirin’s immortal baby sister when she isn’t fighting mokou.
