I love how almost every movie since 2014 with non shaky and even shaky camera angles is referred to John Wick. This movie looks like it can be right up there with Wick. Depends what the vibe and tone is once seen.
It looks much closer to Ong Bak with Tony Jaa than the Wick films.

This trailer was just unexpected and it's really good with Hinduism culture being an integral factor to the storyline. The Tabla instrument starting of the trailer set the tone to the trailer.

not really, it would have been wrong if they showed rich people to be non-indian and then the indian hero washing toilets, but here the rich were also indians and poor were also indian which is reality in almost all country,
And talking about taxi driving many indians do that work, why shy away from it? they aren't smuggling they are doing their jobs like how many IT workers are indian in same way in taxi driver are also indian

the moneky they keep referring to is hanuman, the hindu god, for reference, the famous monkey king of chinese mythology is inspired by hanuman, hanuman is the original...and the voice in the background saying "it's time to remember who you are" is a direct reference to the hindu epic ramayan where a great scholar jambavanth help hanuman the monkey god realise who he really is before hanuman goes and sets fear in the said demon king and his army

They're after all humans, even if they belong to different lands .
So similarities are bound to exist.
Hindu , Greek and Norse mythological characters are very similar. Especially Greek.

No offense, but I think Dev is partially responsible to not going more mainstream with bigger franchise stuff and blockbusters. He had mentioned passing up a few offers to read and possibly star for roles in major franchises in past interviews.
I don't fully blame him after the whole The Last Airbender debacle, but the guy seems to have deliberately chosen to do more Indie level stuff for over a decade now outside of his TV work.

Y'all should also react to some of the behind the scenes stuff that has been coming out. It is crazy how much they had to jump through just to make this movie happen. Regardless of how it is, you can tell how much love and hard work was put into it and that gets my respect.

I appreciate you pointed out the humor in Dev Patel’s character’s fight scenes and how he makes mistakes. I like John Wick, but the grittiness and believability that the first one has faded with the sequels so now John is basically an indestructible robot. It could be refreshing to get an action movie with slick, exciting fight choreography that isn’t afraid to have fun with it.

The best Indian action franchise is the lokesh cinematic universe. It has 3 films till date with future movies in pre production.
1) Kaithi: will give you vibes of assault on Precinct 13, con air
2) Vikram: best in the franchise and the strongest in terms of screenplay and story
3) Leo : latest in the franchise. Adaptation of DC's graphic novel a history of violence. Very different from hollywood's take on it which was more grounded, slow paced non stylistic whereas Leo will give you the feel of a graphic novel with some really cool action set pieces
